You know it's interesting to me that the focus is on Wilson hooking up with Amber when she was needy after House's firing (beyond that also being House's claim). I liked a fanfic I read which said Wilson actually first met her, and they started something (whether a friendship or whatever), after she saved House's life after the electrocution and was rattled by the experience. I had actually forgotten about that as well: both Wilson and Amber may have been bonded by that shared experience initially rather than the firing.

I think it is more than possible that Wilson noticed CTB at the time of House's electrocution. Sparking his interest. I think I mentioned in a post somewhere that in a sense what with that and the prolonged job interview House may have actually brought Wilson and Amber together. That should kep him from killing himself for a little while.
I don't think there's any indication that they really bonded at that point, especially with the confirmation that they didn't start to date until after she was fired. But I see that previous incident perhaps prompting Wilson to approach her once she was fired, where he didn't bother with any of the other candidates (except maybe ROF :) ). I can see him wanting to reach out to her before she left because she had saved House and then things progressing quickly (a little too quickly) from there.

It is interesting to think about how her saving House's life would affect Wilson's view of her. Certainly that was his first impression/experience of her ("Your cohort...") aside from her crawling through his office (requisite dirty comment here). His first time meeting her would likely have been when he got to the hospital - it's probable he asked her what happened re: House's electrocution (I imagine him as incredibly angry and being all, "What the hell happened?!"). From his non-reaction in Games when House brings up her firing I agree that they weren't involved then, but we know from his comment in Ugly he definitely noticed her and seemed interested at that point.

pwcorgigirl wrote a short fic in which Wilson chose her because he was deliberately seeking a woman who could withstand his friendship with House. It's an interesting idea. I do like that in retrospect we know that Wilson did notice her before the firing, with his "The bitch is pretty" comment in 'Ugly'.

It is interesting to think about how her saving House's life would affect Wilson's view of her. Certainly that was his first impression/experience of her ("Your cohort...") aside from her crawling through his office (requisite dirty comment here). I remember loving the "your cohort" designation. So proper and professional at a point when Wilson is on the verge of losing his composure in front of a group of basically strangers. Although she didn't actually crawl thru his office. I remembered it that way too and someone corrected me and upon checking she crawled out of House's office but walked in upright thru Wilson's, so not as provocative as it could have been.
I'm not sure the pretty comment is all that significant especially in a semi-mocking conversation between two guys who in the past have ranked the do-ability of the nurses. They seem to notice everything about everybody and beside who isn't pretty in that place. I don't think its looks that Wilson noticed next, not that it hurts, but more her ability to handle House and whatever he threw at all of the contenders. That I think is the reason why when House says he's going to talk to Amber in DEC, to House's surprise, Wilson doesn't try and stop him. He knows he doesn't have to save her from House.
Going forward, even if House stays backed off of W/A, problems and conflicts are going to come up for him and Wilson will get involved and have to deal with them and by virtue of her relationship with him so will Amber. We've seen that Amber can handle House one-on-one, but does she truly understand what the House-Wilson relationship entails? The effect it can have on Wilson? I don't think she can. That is where a real challenge could lie in wait.
I mean even if she's heard about the Tritter incident, which I doubt, can you imagine if she had to live thru it. Things may not get that out of control again but something will happen maybe several things and it will make House sitting uninvited in her living room or crashing one of their dates feel like a party.

I'm not sure the pretty comment is all that significant
I also don't think it was significant. He noticed that 13 was pretty too and that the CIA chick was attractive. He was including her with his comment, not detaching her.
But the fact that she was quick enough to save House's life definitely put her above the others. And so when she needed some sympathy after being fired, it was easy for him to approach her. The fact that she shares some of the House's traits probably increased the attraction.
does she truly understand what the House-Wilson relationship entails?
I doubt, unless she is even more smart than House. Sometimes I think not even House and Wilson can understand what exactly their relationship means. She may be aware about Tritter, and even Vogler, but she can't measure the implications and consequences for them and the people around them. Until she is in the middle of something like that.

Can you link to the story you referred to, Taiga? I love PWCorgigirl's work.
ixtab- 02-21-2008
I am not Tiaga and can't link to save my life, but if babyeinstein but you can go to page 76 in the fic thread, halfway is the link, the story is called Bombproof, as great as we'd come to expect from PWCorgigirl's.

Wow! Thank you ixtab That story does indeed rock so hard!

When this ship's a-rockin', don't come a-knockin'!

They are just so cute together. A month ago I wouldn't have thought of Amber as adorable but today she was. Now I want to see them together longer.
galaxygirl- 05-05-2008
I know they probably are doomed, but damn, I love them to death and would love it if they stayed together for a while.
LightMyCandle- 05-05-2008
Gosh, she was so much better tonight than last week. She looked really hot in just that satin sheet too and I've never thought she was hot before.
It's just so nice to see someone finally worrying about Wilson's needs and recognizing that he needs to take care of himself.
I like how scared Wilson actually was to do something for himself but he was cautiously enjoying it by the end.
jpanda- 05-06-2008
i've grown fond of these two right after last nights episode... please let them stay together forever.......

Farewell to the good ship Wilson/Amber :sob: God, I'm going to miss it!
How many people think they would have made it in the long run?
