they squee whenever something hoyay-ish happens but you just aren't sure how you would react if it actually became serious canon?
It pretty much depends of how they would handle it. It would be a bold move, but I think they have the perfect material to do it in the right way.
Personally I think they already show them as a couple - seriously, that last scene from DCE was a lovers break up! I find so easy to put them as actual lovers, that the idea comes naturally to me. But I really don't care if one day I'll have some kind of confirmation or not. Friends or more than friends, what I absolutely adore is the two of them together. Their scenes are a joy to watch - and sometimes a sadness too!

Wellll, I should have added "*in my opinion* right now"*
Even though I am all for the Hoyay, I'm just admitting that I kind of like how they are now (err by 'now' I mean, how they've been, not their current rift). I wonder if anyone else feels that way... they squee whenever something hoyay-ish happens but you just aren't sure how you would react if it actually became serious canon?
Yeah, I can't quite make out my feelings - I just adore the back and forth between them, and the looks, and all that (and personally I enjoy some of the youTube things done to music, with various snippets from the shows - revealing ho-yay that I hadn't noticed). I'd love to see touch, a hug. But actual, physical, man love? Not sure. Enticing on some levels, certainly. Perhaps, though, what I love more is the tease, the potential left unfulfilled.

I feel like I had a real chance to sort out my exact feelings on the subject after DEC, because that's as close as it ever got. To be honest, I kind of panicked. Not because I don't want H/W, but because in the middle of S4, it felt too soon. I don't want it happening now because I don't believe TPTB would let them be together for the remainder of the show, I think they would break them up (not that they haven't done that now anyway) at some point.
I do want it to happen, but not until the last episode and if it never happens, I will be fine with it because I do love them as they are (minus the current rift) and I enjoy their relationship like no other that is currently on TV.

For me, as long as they keep loving each other and putting their relationship at the center of their lives, I'll be happy. If by the time the show ends their bond is still the strongest and longest constant in their lives, I won't need more.
LightMyCandle- 09-19-2008
ixtab summed it up perfectly. As long as they continue to be the most important person in each other's lives, I'll be content.

I used to think that too, but after DCE? They seem to raise the bait every time they focus a story in H/W (and they do that a lot!). I found that last scene was so oddly romantic! The looks, their voice's tone, the way that Wilson was almost crying. It was all about love, a twisted, warped love. I don't get it how someone can deny the love between them after that scene. But maybe it's just me. There's a long time I don't watch something so powerful on a tv show - and I'm sure I never watched anything like that between two men.
Word, ixtab! Short and sweet!

I'd also be content with that but I have to say I would also love it if they became canon.
ITA with Lully that it would have to be handled well but considering how well they have already written and performed them I don't see any worry there. They are already so close to it that it wouldn't be that difficult although I think it would require a gradual transition they just can't turn them both on a dime.
I think they could already be under way with House. :D

Perfect!!!!
I don't want House/Wilson put into a box. I see their love as transcendent. It's a love story that has nothing to do with gender or sexual orientation or sexual preference. It's romantic, and sad, and funny, and sexy without being sexual and just plain fascinating. I agree with House "people neecd to come out of their holes"

So you've all seen the new H/W TV guide photos, y/y? Just how slashy is that silly string photo?
Please tell me that I'm not the only one pervy enough to see the subtext there. Think they did it on purpose?
deelaundry- 10-06-2008
Even if HL and RSL didn't know, the editors HAD TO KNOW what implication could be drawn from the silly string photo. Seriously. Seriously.
Oh, and on the subject of "Are the photos of the characters or the actors?" -- neither of them were wearing wedding rings.
galaxygirl- 10-06-2008
Those pictures are rating pretty high on the slashy scale I especially love the cover picture.

I can't imagine, that neither of them would have no idea about the implication. (Wow and that is the grammar 4 hrs sleep gives you)

Oh god. I know how you feel. Grad school is killing me.
But slashy H/W photos are better than a super strong cup of coffee. I love the cover photo, but I don't think it needed quite so much airbrushing.
And they -House and Wilson (or HL & RSL?)- look like a couple.

I noticed that too. I'm kind of glad they went the goofy route with these pics. The look on HL's face alone in every picture just kills me. And I love RSL looking throught the newspaper.

Sorry - are you talking about the TV guide issue that's supposed to be dated Oct. 13 or something? I just saw what I thought was the latest issue, and it's got William Peterson on the cover.....
