Speaking of 'deliberate choices,' does anyone else think that Wilson may have chosen to date CTB because he knew that House would eventually make the 'she's me' connection? As others have said, it's no accident that they brought up bisexuality in this episode . . . .

What I want to know is this: how were they ever going to get from this to Huddy? Because there was major speculation that the superbowl ep would have been Huddy (if not for the strike), and that would have come pretty close after this one, right? I honestly can't see how they could have done that without making it seem like a pity-date or second choice.

Well it may be a pity date or second choice. We think that W/A is a second choice W/H but it's necessary to pave the way.
One reason I think Cuddy gave Wilson such a harsh assessment of W/A's prospects is because of her own difficulty on the romantic front. She knows how hard it is to make something work even when you really want to. When she sees W/A does work for awhile (and I think it will for most of the rest of this season, whenever we get that), Cuddy is going to feel a little envious of them.
House may not try to sabotage W/A anymore but now that House is confronting his real feelings for Wilson he will not be able to avoid feeling jealous, like an unrequited lover. I think he's going to take those feelings to Cuddy bringing them closer together personally. At the same time she's feeling again that longing to be with someone. I can see her thinking if W/A can make a go of it with all of their baggage maybe now House and I can too. That is how I can see a ONS happening followed by the realization that it cannot work because that is not who House and Cuddy are to each other.
It will also have the benefit of officially dealing with Huddy and then take it off the board for good (as W/A has also now taken out Wuddy) widening the path for ultimate H/W.
ETA, there was someone here or at The Weird Other Place that last season or the beginning of this one said that they were certain that it would be revealed that House was Bisexual. It wasn't a spoiler it was a gut feeling. I wish I could remember who it was because I think they deserve a congratulations. Any campers recall this? I checked and the person who made this prediction was lawm back on Sept. 12, 2006. She posted and I quote: "I'm calling it right now: No matter what happens with Wilson, House being bisexual will be canon before the show ends. They may never show him with a guy, but it will be revealed. My prediction and I'm sticking to it."
She doesn't seem to be active either here or at TWOP but I just thought such acumen deserved credit.

Stick to it filex, I'm right behind you. :)
From what I hear (well, read) your speculation on W/A was the closest, so maybe you'll nail that one as well.

Hi, guys. :winkiss: lawm was me.
As you can imagine, I think the wink at 13 was a "friend of Dorothy" gesture on House's part.

Thanks george. Well if you mean the House Bisexual cannon that wasn't mine, I just remember lawm making it more than a year ago becasue she was so resolute. She was remarkably percise calling way before any one else that I know of for it to be cannon. I Love it when that happens.
If you mean the Huddy that actually became my pet theory when I was thinking up the W/A scenerio for bailey's comp. So maybe it does have a chance.

I remember you predicting bi for House very well, Dee. I wonder what other things we predicted will come true? Last night's ep was like watching a particularly good fan fic come to life.

deelaundry I'm so sorry I didn't not make or remember the connection. *slaps forehead*
Well what more can be said except

Have JUST seen the last ep and read the episode discussions, and everyone's said everything I was going to already, so I just came in to my favourite thread to SQUEE my little fangirl heart out.
Tons of Wilson! His face in the first screen (post credits) AND the very last screen, happy! Jealous!House in Amber's apartment! The looks on both their faces in the 'you're sleeping with me' realisation moment. The absolutely fantastic 'we're a couple'/'well if you'd looked at me with those flashing eyes' conversation outside the elevator which I need to watch a few more hundred times. And House finally doing something for Wilson at the end *happy sigh*
/end squee
Thanks for listening :D

I just came home from work where nobody seemed to understand my need to discuss House/Wilson ad nauseum. What is wrong with the world today? I needed to check in here where others understand. I loved so many things about this episode, but mostly the fact that House and Wilson are finally coming to realize how much they mean to each other. I love the final scene. The song choice (I'm just waiting on a friend... truer words were never spoken, huh, House?). I'm always a sucker for RSL's trademark smile with the eye crinkles. He thinks he's happy now? Wait until he has the real thing.
So much of season three focused on the "screwed up" part of their crazy friendship. The last two episodes clearly summarized why these two are friends in the first place. They really and truly love each other. Really. For who they both are, and for what they can be. That makes me sort of warm and fuzzy inside.
Do you guys think House must have gone little bit crazy when Kutner described CB as having "legs that go to Canada", considering that Wilson went to McGill?
;)
Taiga- 02-06-2008
Yes, I take back what I said about RSL. When I rewatched I realized I was remembering his "we're a couple" scene differently than it really was.
how were they ever going to get from this to Huddy?
Maybe by tying Wilson up to another woman they're making room for Huddy?

That has crossed my mind more than once since last night. I think I can deal with possible Huddy, because it will crash and burn and hopefully be all about Wilson *nods*

Nekocat has screen caps up from Don't Ever Change and boy they are even more telling than what we saw in the episode itself IMO. House looks even scarier in the Amber's apartment scene.
Love, love the screencap recap. It always makes me smile. I haven't stopped rewatching the H/W scenes. Everytime I rewatch, I discover some piece of dialogue or a look that I hadn't noticed before. The whole episode was made of awesomeness. Just a couple of random thoughts. House has seen Wilson cry and realizes he's sensitive a la Dark Victory http://www.filmsite.org/dark.html. While I was reading it, I wondered if Amber will develop some condition that neither Wilson or House can save her from.
My absolute favorite piece of dialogue is "I've decided you could do worse than a female proxy FOR me." Wilson runs after House. I thought I was going to get my H/W kiss. Oh well. And "Waiting on a Friend" by the Rolling Stones is actually about manlove. There's a vid of it on u-tube. Wilson is still very angry at House and wants to hurt him emotionally and physically (Frozen - Where are we going? nowhere, I just know it hurts you". Maybe Cate will be the one to help them get past all the Tritter residue. The other thing that continues to strike me as odd is Wilson describes House as a friend, while House always refes to Wilson a his best friend. Finally, I think House has been carrying a torch for Wilson for a long time. Wilson seems a little on the cold-blooded side. He was sort of taunting House during the elevator scene. Then when Wilson realized that House wanted him in every way possible, he went for the jugular. Damn, I thought House was a bastard but my baby Wilson has definitely got him beat on that score. I can't imagine S1 and S2 or even S3 Wilson stomping on House's feelings. And Cuddy's convo with House and then Wilson was awesome. Cuddy the admin all grownup is always awesome.
House said something that I didn't quite understand. Wilson betrays the women after he does his knight in shining armor thing. How does Wilson betray them. It's obviously not with other women. If anyone has any ideas I'd love to read them.
