^ The thing is though, I have no trouble believing House as a Hetero male when he's IN SCENES W/WOMEN and/or flirting with them . . . however when WILSON is shown w/a woman, I just don't believe that he's got any genuine sexual interest going on.
Basically I think Wilson is full-on gay and in giant buckets of denial about it, and House is in a murky area on the Kinsey Scale of sexuality, and could really care less about that fact.

idonmatrix: We really need a "special two-hour episode" just about the history of the H/W relationship.
See, I don't know - I think I might be happier never knowing. As it stands now, it could be pretty much anything we could think of, and if they establish something it's almost guaranteed to disappoint someone.
Although, if they could establish a "x many years ago" point of reference that didn't contradict all of their other references, I'd definitely like that. If that's, you know, even possible to work out. *g*

ITA with this, and would add that I find the reverse also true with Wilson - that when Wilson is shown w/a man, I have no problem believing there's *something* going on there.

I hate to sound like a broken record for reiterating this point, but what I'm REALLY curious about is actor/director intent. I wonder if RSL, HL, and the director of a given episode think this stuff out in advance. I mean, the quality of the show seems to imply that yes, they-- like anyone in theater/film/TV-- work out actions and objectives before a scene is shot or even during rehearsal. To be a fly on a wall on the set would just be the best:
Director: Robert, I think you need to play this scene like you're really mad at House.
RSL: But I think Wilson is more exasperated.
HL: Sexually.
*all laugh*
Fangirls: *are tortured*

I think that has more to do with RSL than with Wilson... I've heard it said that he just doesn't do well as a romantic lead (cringes to avoid rotten tomatoes)

Hmmm. I could believe that though he wasn't too bad with Grace but Wilson running away when he spots Cuddy?

I think you're right, he's said that he's very uncomfortable with romantic scenes. The only one I remember seeing him in (sadly I haven't seen a lot. I fail as an RSL fan  ) is Much Ado About Nothing, but honestly I hated his character so I blocked out anyone who wasn't Emma Thompson in that movie.
Having said that,
Hmmm. I could believe that though he wasn't too bad with Grace
Granted, there were no "love" scenes with Grace but I picked up on something deeper going on between them before the reveal, I thought he did a good job with her.

Oh we watched that in class and god, it was awful. I just blocked my ears and watched him wander around in a uniform with Denzel Washington (drools)
God I loved Emma in that movie though, and the dude who played Benedick but I have no idea who he is!

The dude who played Benedick is Kenneth Branaugh who just happens to be Emma's ex-husband. I don't like him, he seems so...nevermind, this is not the place.

I would just like to say that I hate Kenneth bloody Branagh, and that I know quite a few professional Shakespearean actors who a) are better than him and b) also hate him, so you're not alone. Emma was lovely, and oddly enough, Keanu Reeves was great in Much Ado, because Don John is supposed to be an emotionless evil guy getting oil massages from his henchmen. Mm, oil massage.
And...er...on-topic...I liked RSL in Much Ado, because he fit my image of who Claudio was supposed to be: a whiny, immature bitch. I loved it when Keanu pinned him against the wall and whispered sexily at him. And then Kenneth Branagh did the same thing. Mmm. I seem to have a fetish for RSL being pinned against a wall.
...Time to read some fic to that effect!
(Forgive my rambling...I just had a klonopin.)

RSL also had a love scene in Safe Passage where he made out with his fiance on the kitchen table. His character was Alfred and... well he's a little Wilsonian. :D
Also, I don't like Kenneth Branagh either.
To be on topic: I think TPTB definitely want to show Wilson being sexually uninterested around women. As someone mentioned before: Cuddy. The only times we've seen him with women (besides Grace), he's just acting as a friend.
