I Brought a Professional Defibrilist: Lawrence Kutner
Buy honestly, who would let Kutner near defribulators now? Talk about Kutner(6/9) here.

Heh, good title although I'm fairly sure it should be 'I brought a professional etc.'

DrSpaceman- 11-29-2007

There can only be thirty characters in a thread title, so no room for the "professional." On a minor note, I always have to stop myself from saying "Kunter" instead of Kutner. They should've thought this name through!

On a minor note, I always have to stop myself from saying "Kunter" instead of Kutner. They should've thought this name through! At the very least they could have made it more distinctive of "Kumar."

On a minor note, I always have to stop myself from saying "Kunter" instead of Kutner. They should've thought this name through! I propose a ground-breaking episode of discovery where the team realizes that is, in fact, what is written on his birth certificate. And now for something completely differant: anybody else get the mad desire to hug someone/thing whenever Kutner does something adorably six-year-old-ish? Like the way he jumped up at the magic show. No? Just me? Okay then.

Is there no Kal thread yet? Or am I just blind. That's a very real possiblity... Either way, cute pics of him via dryope at house_daily just arrived. They're old outtakes from magazine shoots. She also posted a nice Kal picspam a couple of weeks ago.

No? Just me? Okay then. I do! I do! He is my favorite new duckling. I'll love to ship him, but I just can't decide who to ship him whit. Oh! And I have the feeling Kutner is a shipper himself, but maybe that is just my imagination.

I suspect that Kutner crashes and burns with a lot of women. He's cute, but he puts his foot in his mouth. Plus not all women enjoy the constant thrill seeking behavior.

paulitamh- 01-29-2008

I've got to say that he's my favourite duckling. Ever. And I hope that he makes new things over-the-edge. Kutner makes the show more light in some way. But I'm still expecting something that makes us think that he deserves the job, because, at this point, he's bringing the LOL (wich is not bad, not at all), but I'm hoping the SMART.

Blck Squrrl- 02-07-2008

Can I just say how much I love how Kutner ended up a total sci-fi geek in college? It is just seems so Kutner, getting into something at extreme levels. He became a doctor, and then took it to the extreme by working for House. He doesn't know when to put on the brakes. This quality manifests itself in Kutner not knowing when to shut-up. I can't wait to see how this quality will manifest itself at a critical moment in a case. Will Kutner push for a controversial treatment? Try to save a dying patient? Free associate the key to solving a case?

Cutie Honey- 12-01-2008

This forum needs more Kutner! Kutner is my favorite new duckling, and I was sooo glad he got picked in the end. I was rooting for him ever since he switched his 6 sign to a 9 in an attempt to stay in House's game. It had me cracking up (as did many Kutner scenes that followed). It's a damn shame that his wacky humor is going to waste this season. He isn't getting nearly enough screentime now and when he does it seems ... forced. His let's-believe-everything-the-orphaned-minor-says plot in "Emancipation" was so strange. I understand that he would feel for other orphans, but the way it was handled felt unnatural to me. I prefered his connection to the Chinese patient in "Birthmarks" - It was far more believable (and we got a glimpse of his sense of humor again).

Are we now into the episodes that were filmed after the election? Because I've been hoping that his underuse came from him spending so much time volunteering on the Obama campaign.

Wikipedia claims that Kutner was adopted by a Jewish family when he was 10 and they cite "Birthmarks" as the source. But they’ve got it wrong. His exact words to Nicole were “Belonging’s overrated. I was adopted by a white family when I was nine. I like being different. The view’s better from the outside”.

Poeia- 04-02-2009

I'm lost without transcripts but didn't House refer to him as Jewish in one episode?

maya- 04-02-2009

poeia, I don't recall House calling Kutner Jewish. You may be right, though. Here is a list of things that I do remember about him: * His parents were killed during a robbery in the store that they ran. This happened in front of him when he was 6. (Wilson’s Heart) * He was adopted by a “white” family when he was 9. (Birthmarks) * His adoptive family changed his last name to Kutner. (implied in Wilson’s Heart) * He was in foster care since House called him “former foster kid”. (97 Seconds) I am assuming it was for three years between the age of 6 and 9. Either he was fostered and adopted by the same family or he may have gone from family to family till he finally found one that wanted to adopt him. * He told Sophia his foster parents were "great" (Emancipation)
