Two very awesome people have convinced me to come back. Thanks y'all. Glad to be back. Cause this place rocks.
Now...about that Chase character. Awesome, isn't he????
Poeia- 08-25-2007
Good topic.
Has his hair been getting darker over the seasons or is that just my imagination?
sautomne- 08-25-2007
I haven't noticed. I'm too distracted by the fluffy fabulousness of the hair to actually notice it's color!
nekokitty- 08-25-2007
Chase's hair has gotten darker which is not unusal since he no longer lives in Australia with the sun and outdoor activities. My Mom's hair had changed from blonde to brown as she got older so pigmentation changes happen.
saara_zaara- 08-25-2007
Poeia, I think you're right, it does look darker to me. I'm beginning to suspect why we all pay so much attention to Chase is in part because of hair-envy.
Its interesting, his hair is almost a prop in its own right, changing as the character evolves. DISCUSS!!!
radiosweetheart- 08-25-2007
Does anyone remember on NewsRadio when all of the men had red hair for awhile and it was never mentioned?
Maybe Chase is dyeing his hair in an attempt to stand out. Making small changes to his appearance in an attempt to pique House's curiosity. If we're lucky this season we'll get to see Chase doing more random and interesting things, like practicing bagpipes and participating in a karaoke challenge.
Whatever, as long as we get moar Chase.

I noticed the color change too. He looks as gorgeous as ever, but I do rather miss the golden blond locks. At least they're longer again. I admit to a fondness to them being a tad longer. Now if we could just get them mussed up the way Jesse wears it, and even a bit of scruff wouldn't hurt. LOL
extra_cat- 08-25-2007
His hair does look darker and I kind of miss the lighter color. Of course he looks great either way, but I think of him as having blond hair and now it's... not.
I hope we'll get more background on Chase this season--not that fanwanking doesn't provide hours of entertainment. ;)
merlin7- 08-25-2007
That's what I want. More background on Chase. To know why he feels the way he feels about fat people. I want to know what his relationship with his mother was like, and will happily accept learning through Chase's interactions with patients. I love it when he interacts with patients and season 3 sucked by not giving up but like 3 eps out of 24 where Chase got to have that interaction as the patients actual doctor. Foreman got patient after patient and it made me about insane. I learned nothing about Foreman, not that I care too, other than he's a jerk and a bore, which I already knew. So gimme more Chase and patient interaction please. And scenes of Cuddy and Chase. Actual one on one scenes. I know they would be fabulous.

Thank goodness,I'm not going crazy. I just assumed that they "blonded" JS up a bit to make him extra pretty and appealing to female viewers, because I think he had more sandy colored hair in the very early S1 eps...and it just sort of gradually got blonder. I seem to remember HL having a bald spot early on as well.
Its interesting, his hair is almost a prop in its own right
LOL! Too true. Hell, it's almost its own character.
I'm not so patiently waiting to learn so many things. I want to know more about Mommy Chase, why Daddy cut Jr. out of the will, why the seminary, etc. Hey, how about a mention of where Chase went to school, since we know this about every other character on the show.
And more House/ Chase interaction please! JMO, but their interactions are so much more insightful than Foreman lecturing House or the force fed Ham. (I actually like Foreman in normal doses and don't mind Cam when they're not trying to make her House's wuuv interest..it's just I'd prefer a little less of these two and a little more of Chase,Wilson, and Cuddy)
I also wonder if the punch in FJ will ever be addressed. It would be interesting to see Chase's reaction if House ever made any attempt to discuss it. It was a very pivotal moment for Chase's character and was brought up briefly by Foreman in HW , so I don't think it's forgotton.

I really believe that Chase's issue isn't with "fat" people, but with destroying yourself through compulsive behavior and/or not following sound medical advice to save yourself. Bells and whistles went off for me when he said, while talking about George in QSS, that they didn't give livers to alcoholics. Maybe mum needed one and couldn't get it because of her addictions.
sweet fern- 08-26-2007
Also noticing the less blonde hair here. Maybe he and Cameron are switching hair....
While I wouldn't mind a scene about the punch, I don't feel it is so very unresolved. It was pretty much unspoken but I feel House and Chase are both pretty well resolved about it. I think House asking Chase if he was okay or had it looked at or whatever was a close as House is likely to get to an apology and that Chase seemed fine with House in HE (annoyed about the whole Foreman thing, but not angsting and especially being on a different level with House--less deferrential, more like colleagues than superior/subordinate) and was able to accept his firing shows me he doesn't have a big unresolved issue with House.
Chase being left of his father's will does puzzle me though. I mean, Rowan, knowing he was dying, came there to see Chase and they did hug there at the end. So it didn't really seem to me they were parting on bad terms. And I certainly get the impression that Chase doesn't have any sibs (of course there could be step-sibs but it seems like they would have mentioned them...) So what happened between the hug and Rowan's death to make him disinherit Chase? Doesn't add up to me....
