How do I… The HHoW-To’s of BB Code
For some of you, posting way cool stuff inHTML has become easier than speaking that foreign language you learned in high school. So, this primer is for you. Along with the Forumer BB Code Guide (found in really small links on the page when you post, or linked here), this can help you learn the coding that is on most message boards. Why not just post the entire link or say "that message eight pages ago with Wilson painting House purple?" Well, good coding can help you say what you want to say and help you get your point across easier.
So, here are the most-used codes here at HHoW:
To make text bold:
For some of you, posting way cool stuff in
[b]enter text here[/b]
To make text italic:
[i]enter text here[/i]
To make text underline:
[u]enter text here[/u]
To link to another webpage, either using different text than the link itself, or to make a shorter link:
[url=http://www.houseofwhining.com]Type your text here.[/url]
To quote someone, highlight and copy the text you want:
[quote]Then paste your text here.[/quote]
To quote someone and give credit with their name, do the same
[quote="person's name in quote marks"]Paste the text here.[/quote]
And finally, to show specific BB Code to everyone else, such as here:
[code]Type your code here.[/code]
