re: gossip girl... I watched the pilot because, A) I love the pilot for both "The OC" and "Chuck" and figured that Josh Schwartz, if nothing else, makes great pilots and B) I always said I'd listen to Kristen Bell read the phone book and figured this was the next best thing. It's not the greatest show, but I'll watch again. It's a decent, compelling teen soap with a great lead in Blake Lively. I liked it. And, again, Kristen Bell's voice...I'm very much in love with her. In Larroquette news: if Extra hasn't aired in your area yet, check it out for both a segment on Hugh (which hasn't aired yet so I don't actually know what it is) and a story about Larroquette joining BL. And back to "Chuck" again: the pilot had both Julia Ling (from "Sleeping Dogs Lie" ) and Wendy Makkena (from "Needle in a Haystack"). Julia, at least, looks to be a regular recurring character. Not sure about Wendy (she was only in one scene), but it had the potential to be recurring.

My John Larroquette love has grown so much since last night. He's freaking awesome in Boston Legal so far. Oh and the hoyay on that show is absolutely killing me. It makes H/W look tame.

The emo, 'robots vs. aliens' kid at Claire's new school on Heroes was also the PotW in Detox - the kid with the termite-infested bedroom. At least, I'm 99% sure it's him

amysusanne- 09-27-2007

Yeah, that's him. It was a big week for "House" guest stars on other shows. In addition to Leighton, Larroquette and whatever the kid's name is, two more showed up last night. Stacy Edwards (The Socratic Method) was on the disappointingly mediocre premiere of "Private Practice" and the kid from "Lines in the Sand" was on the slightly better, but still not as great as it should have been, premiere of "Life". Unfortunately, I still don't know what his voice sounds like since the HD station's sound fucked up and I didn't get it flipped over to the antenna until the scene was done and he was weeping his way out of the scene. It sucked. Random bitching: It was the second time an Atlanta station screwed the pooch last night. The first was FOX who couldn't get their act together until five minutes into "Back to You" and then, after the first commercial break, lost sound for a couple of minutes. They blamed it on "network difficulties". Yeah...amazing how the Macon affiliate wasn't having network difficulties, WAGA. I'm almost scared to see what happened with "Dirty Sexy Money" and "Gossip Girl". They're in the tivo, hopefully with sound, but I'm not getting my hopes up.

Okay, three sightings tonight: the day care teacher House confronted at the end of Act Your Age about getting the lip wax was on Reaper, and on E.R. two - Howard Hesseman and also the POTW from Spin.

sautomne- 09-27-2007

ETA: Never mind, I skipped over blue's posted and basically posted the exact same thing. I need to learn to read. Or get some sleep. Possibly both.

amysusanne- 09-27-2007

Okay, hang on...Carla Gallo wasn't on Tuesday's edition of "Reaper" and I thought tonight's was a repeat? If it wasn't, I'm kind of going to be really, really annoyed. I think I should probably go set the KTLA feed just to be on the safe side. You know, instead of talking about it here. {g} Oh, but the orange guy from the pilot (Andrew Airlie) *is* Sam's father on that show. I didn't catch the POTW from "Spin", but I always get excited when I see Hesseman's name in the credits of anything. David Clennon, too, who should totally sign up for a guest starring spot on "House". Miles Drentell meeting Gregory House would be a beautiful, beautiful thing. Either that or it would cause some sort of ripple in the time space continuum of bastards.

Either that or it would cause some sort of ripple in the time space continuum of bastards. I think I would explode. Miles Drentell is, for me, one of the most memorable characters from the eighties. I loved Thirtysomething. I've always wanted Richard Schiff to guest star on House. Could you imagine House meeting Toby Zeigler?

I think I would explode. Miles Drentell is, for me, one of the most memorable characters from the eighties. I loved Thirtysomething. Me too! To the point where I almost uncharacteristically "Squeed" when I read your post. {g} Miles is so one of the greatest characters ever on television. I've always wanted Richard Schiff to guest star on House. Could you imagine House meeting Toby Zeigler? And Toby is right up there with him. House and Toby would be fun. I want some fantasy episode (or even a fantasy sketch) where House encounters all of the most brilliantly cranky television characters from recent history. I'd watch it on a loop. And there really *does* need to be more Richard Schiff on my television. amy - have to clarify I didn't watch Reaper - I was actually watching The Office and flipping around on a commercial break towards the end of the hour, and just had it on for a brief moment and recognized her. Gotcha. It might have been an advert for next week. I haevn't paid attention to previews, so I don't even know what next week's is about. I watched the pilot (and that's what they reaired, thank goodness) and she wasn't in it. I really liked that show a lot. It wasn't the best of the new shows I've seen, but it was fun and I hope it sticks around for awhile.

On a sort of abbreviated re-watch of "Alone" I noticed that the woman who played "Liz" in the teaser was the same woman who played the wife of the French diver infiltrated by black oil in The X-Files. The woman who accosts Krycek in the bathroom and passes the oil on to him. Yeah, both pretty obscure roles.

March301- 09-29-2007

Could you imagine House meeting Toby Zeigler? Bwah! I could see all the characters meeting up, and the gang would be totally shocked by House's bedside manner. However, I could see Toby smiling in that little Toby way he does, you know, just barely visable through the beard :) I posted this in the Hugh Laurie thread already, but I just want to reiterate how shocked I was to see that he was in The Man In The Iron Mask. Was not expecting that!

amysusanne- 09-29-2007

I watched way, way, way too much television last night and early into the morning. And in that time I saw two Jayma (Sleeping Dogs Lie) Mays appeareances. First she was on "Ghost Whisperer" playing the haunted person of the week. HPOTW? Then, for me at least, she was on "Ugly Betty" because I just got to Thursday's episode last night. I'm not sure if Charlie will actually be returning to the show or not because I don't read UB spoilers, but she was in a fairly funny fantasy sequence at the beginning of the episode.

I finally caught up with the movie "Little Children." Jane Adams (the worst realtor in New Jersey) was made to suffer through a worse date than Wilson when her character, a neurotic mess, answers an ad and dates a creepy pedophile. Cheating Wilson is a dream in comparison. And as a side note--Patrick Wilson. Hoo Boy.

amysusanne- 09-30-2007

I finally got to "Dirty Sexy Money" this afternoon and loooooooved it. Elle Fanning (from "Need to Know") plays Peter Krause's very, very adorable, very, very serious little daughter. Lots of other familiar and/or talented faces fill out the cast, but no one else from "House" jumped out at me. Bryan Singer is one of the producers, but I have no idea what his participation in it is. I didn't pay much attention to his ABC deal after "Footballers' Wives" fell through, so I might be talking about of my ass, but I'm guessing this might have been a consolation prize of sorts to fullfill his deal with the network. No matter what his involvement in it is, it amused me to hear two Ethan Hawke references/jokes in the first hour.
