He posted a response that didn't make much sense, so I looked at the profile of the person he was responding to & *that* had a question about Hugh. So I assumed his "he was with me" response referred to Hugh. Ah, thanks. I had seen that one, but he must have hit response on a different tweet, so I missed the actual question. I wasn't bright enough to check the profile of the other guy. Man, really gotta be on your toes over there.

Doesn't help that all the people tweeting from MacWorld have bogged down the system...

Housewhore4- 01-06-2009

Yeah that was confusing. Here's what the guy said: Weirdmeta: "@greggrunberg Greg can you confirm if Hugh Laurie has a Twitter page. I found this http://twitter.com/hughlaurie dont know if its him." Grunny: "@WeirdMeta I think not. I was with him tonight and doubt very much that that is him at all." (about 17 hours ago) Yay for rehearsals!!!

Boffle- 01-06-2009

So the rehearsal footage, has that gone up yet? I'm not seeing it, but that doesn't mean much. :-)

fffaw- 01-06-2009

Weirdmeta: "@greggrunberg Greg can you confirm if Hugh Laurie has a Twitter page. I found this http://twitter.com/hughlaurie dont know if its him." Ugh. Did you look at "hughlaurie's" tweets? They're all to "bobbysean" and it's all 'I love you' etc. For the love of all that's holy, as a H/W shipper, this is the sort of crap that really gets on my nerves. Gives slashers a bad name.

zumi- 01-06-2009

That "hughlaurie" twitter, I "doubt very much that that is him at all", too! and Yay! for rehearsals! :) Reguarding the BFTV dvd, as my pc setting was already changed to Region 1 (Japan and Europe is Region 2), I didn't have to change anything, but if it appears a pop-up notice that asks you if it's ok to change the setting from Region 2 to Region 1 (maybe not, as BFTV dvd says it's regionfree), remember that your PC can change its region setting just for 4/5 times. When you change it as many times as it's allowed, it'll be fixed to that region setting. (though you can invalidate the region setting in PC, by buying or free-loading some special programs in Internet.:))

It was explained before - the hughlaurie and bobbysean Twitter accounts are parody fakes, part of a larger extremely silly joke that stretched across multiple media. They are not meant to be taken seriously even as RPGs.

fffaw- 01-06-2009

I understand that they are parodies. I just think it's a stupid thing to do and makes fans look like idiots. I can't believe that someone asked Greg Grunberg if it was real.

Hugh Laurie tweeting? His fans vote for him by the hundreds per minute each time he is on a popularity poll. Imagine if he tweets. The site will crash in a second! Speaking of the Hello magazine Most Attractive Man poll, he would make a “delightfully surprised” comment if he won over Twilight young star Robert Pattinson. Remember when he won the Teen Choice Award? He jokingly said that he was surprised the teens chose him considering his age is more than the ages of the other contestants combined.

Poeia- 01-06-2009

If HL has a twitter account it is undoubtedly in some completely fake name and locked to all but a dozen people -- family, Stephen and a few other friends. Re the Hello Magazine poll, most forum members are not interested in the poll. Unfortunately, as the voting progresses, the discussion tends to take over both the media thread and this one with pages of "he's in 3rd place" "he's in 2nd place" "he's x votes behind" "don't forget to vote." For that reason we try to be fairly strict about keeping all discussion of the poll (after the initial announcement) in the "The Sympathy Vote's In Your Pocket" thread in the "Polls" section. I've already posted the link there (because I do vote and it makes it easier to do so.) Thanks.

Housewhore4- 01-06-2009

11 Hours, and still no video! Greg Grunberg you're making me impatiently angry! lol! I want to see it damnit!

iamdaffodils- 01-06-2009

Just posted this on the awards thread, looks like we'll be getting a Hugh sighting/speech (or two :)) tomorrow night!: Queen Latifah was on Jay Leno tonight & told him she's hosting People's Choice Awards tomorrow night and that rehearsals were today. She mentioned that the cast of House would be there...since they tell the winners ahead of time, I'm thinking this means they did at least win Favorite Drama Series. Hopefully, Hugh won his category as well.

"Surprisingly"(to Hugh :D ), most of his fans here are also much younger than him...maybe from early twenties to thirty-something...and some over 40 or 50, who were already familiar to his previous works, while living overseas, ecc. Most of them are women, but yesterday I read a post in mixi (Japanese SNS, social networking service like myspace), that says "I really want to be like G.House. If I were a girl, I'd propose to him"...seriously? BFTV myspace.com says they're having a private gig the day after the Tonight Show. :) 01-17-2009 20:00@BFTV Private-Gig for the Troops and their Families!, LA, California

Interesting to21be, that they also have the BfTV CD/DVD. Unfortunately they don't mention the region, but I think that would be the correct one for Europe, right? Amazon US won't ship it internationally and Amazon UK doesn't seem to have it (if you search for it you get the House CD :D ). Now I have to find out if my TV and DVD player can play NTSC DVDs. I hate modern life! Reguarding the BFTV dvd, as my pc setting was already changed to Region 1 (Japan and Europe is Region 2), I didn't have to change anything, but if it appears a pop-up notice that asks you if it's ok to change the setting from Region 2 to Region 1 (maybe not, as BFTV dvd says it's regionfree), remember that your PC can change its region setting just for 4/5 times. When you change it as many times as it's allowed, it'll be fixed to that region setting. (though you can invalidate the region setting in PC, by buying or free-loading some special programs in Internet.:)) I'm reasonably sure that the BFTV dvd is region-free. My computer is Region 2 and it played without asking me to change anything.
