I'd assume, as Hugh can be at work less than a day after he leaves London, he'd be able to go home once they finish filming whatever completed scripts they have. When negotiations progress to the point that the Union is putting an offer to a vote would be plenty of time to get back.
bailey, I'm so glad the executive dining room didn't use broken eggs. That would have be unforgivable.

Well, Bailey, one thing we know how to do over here is "kick your ass": wearing shades, in the mirror, like all the rest...
Of course, what if he's just very slightly mad and is coming in on a slightly later flight and right this moment is stepping off the plane into a blinding flash of lightbulbs. Gaaah!!!

Strike Oh Bailey, how could you fall asleep when you knew that Hugh was going to walk through the door at any moment? Groan.
BTW, does anyone know how a strike will affect the cast's contracts? Are they signed to X number of episodes, or to X number of years/months? If there were a strike and, for a terrible example, no more episodes are filmed this season, would HL still owe Fox just one more season on his current contract, or would he still owe them 1-1/2 seasons of work?

Go over to the Fox forum and read the thread titled "Thanks Hugh". Some guy dressed up as House for a bar's Halloween party and had the time of his life. Funny as heck.

If you go to www.sag.org, you'll find a couple of messages from the Screen Actors Guild leadership to their members about the WGA negotiations.

Thanks for posting, Sherlockjr. That was a whole lot of "whereas's."

I can't find them. Do I have to be logged in? Am I just missing something?

Obviously, I haven't seen the contracts, but typically HL would be employed by Bad Hat Harry (or whatever its called) which produces the show. They then have a financing deal with NBC/Universal who then distrbutes in the US via fox. NBC/Universal is on the hook to deliver 24 episodes to fox; and BH to NBC & so on. Part of HL's contract with BH will likely specify that he must do a certain amount of publicity for whoever is the show distributer (here fox) but if the show moved network it would be publicity for them.
BH has the most to lose because the show writers are probably employed by them - NBC & fox likely have provisions that say they only pay on delivery of the episodes (though there may be some front end loading for working capital) & the actors ought to have clauses that say they get paid as long as they show up for work, but if BH can't provide them a script they don't get penalized. Worst case scenario BH has to pay the actors regardless & doesn't have the funds to do it and then they also get screwed for non-delivery to NBC. HL most likely will not owe extra time or eps to BH since its not his fault there are no scripts. But it depends on the exact contract wording: it may say he films when the scripts are available & must deliver x performances - & a smart contract will plan for this, but actors hate it because it means they can't plan for what they would usually do post-season or during what ought to be the hiatus if filming runs late.

Actors and writers get paid for all episodes produced. if it ain't produced, no one gets paid.

Seriously, DK, sometimes I think you're just not trying hard enough.
Perhaps you could just post more spoilers. Or ask your peeps that know whether or not Hugh showed up to work today as scheduled. God knows I fell down on my airport watching job....

Zzzzzz......hmmm?....what?.....what?!?
Well, crap guys. I've had the airport carefully staked out this weekend but must have zonked out in the executive waiting area. It's been pretty quiet in here and I'm afraid if there were any Hugh sightings to be had, I didn't make them.
On the other hand, I did have a "working breakfast" in the executive dining room where no eggs were broken for my omelette, so that was a thrill. Now I have to go remove these fashion pants and make my way into work.
Sorry for the letdown, everyone.
OMG this is so funny! I just pictured you dozing on crappy airport chairs.
And I just watched that sketch last night!
Sorry you didn't get what you went so far out of your way for, but at least you can write funny posts with the best of em!

So we still don't know 'the reason'. I know it's rude to pry, but the inner voyer in me is quite intrigued by the reason he went home.
