Do you guys think Kanye will be in any skits? I know nothing about him. Well, except for the Bush hates black people quote. But, well...

Well, if he has a sense of humor, it would do some good for his reputation to be in at least one skit. I'd love to see a Hugh/Kanye send-up of the "Bush doesn't care about black people" incident. Maybe a "Queen Elizabeth doesn't care about Cambridge grads" or something. :)

Oh, no...Control and Tony were golden for me from the first second. They're in my top five. Which, I should say, is just a theoretical top five since I haven't actually put real thought into it. I just know that if forced to come up with a top five, they'd be featured prominently.
Yeah, I think the Vincent Price specials have all been Halloween and one other holiday maybe? Not Christmas though.
It seems like there was a Thanksgiving one at one point, but I might have made that up. I'm too lazy to google. Christmas would be fun.
Or St. Patrick's Day. Maybe. I have a vague memory of it being St. Patrick's Day, or I could be making that up too, and even lazier on the googling thing. :)

I don't know, but I am seriously in love with his "Love Lockdown" song currently out. Damn, it's catchy. And for my money, Kanye's "Bush hates black people" was easily the most hilarious, awesome thing I've ever seen on television. I can see SNL maybe doing another riff sketch on that. Maybe.

Count me in as another Control and Tony fan! The first C&T sketch had me baffled because I was cracking up but I didn't quite understand why I was laughing. There weren't really any overtly funny lines in that first sketch - it was all in the wonderfully horrible delivery. I guess I've never really seen any of the type of shows/movies they were mocking, but by the second time they appeared I sort of figured it out. I was absolutely crushed when Tony got fired, because I knew there would be no more C&T sketches. The lie detector sketch has to be my favorite, but they were all great.
I want a Control and Tony t-shirt!

Would it be the kind of thing that would go better with a cup of coffee, Control?

Another Tony and Control fan here! But I never understood why it was coffee and not tea - should have been tea. :)

I suppose because they were spies and it seemed like a bit of a disguise?

I'm a Tony and Control fan too. I also loved the people on the street interviews. Hugh's policeman was hilarious and just soooooo adorable.
I loved ABOF&L when they were at their absurd best. There were so many skits that were just insanely nonsensical. I can't remember the skit name or the season, but I remember one where Hugh is negotiating with Stephen who is acting as a translator for a woman. I think it's over a house. Anyways, Hugh is just saying the most common words in English about this deal and Stephen keeps slapping him across the face because "in their language" these were horrible, disgraceful words. I was laughing so hard I was crying.
I think they leave the stage for some reason, and the camera takes over, panning into the crowd as viewers read some script. Hugh and Stephen come back and get into a row behind the negotiating table. I was beside myself doubled over with laughter when I first saw that skit.
I think that's the way it went. Hopefully, I'm not mixing up two skits. It's been so long since I've seen ABOF&L, but I'm hoping Santa's bringing the boxset for Christmas. :D

Oh I remember that one . Stephen is speaking his own language, Strom. Also, after they leave, if you look closely, you can see someone walk naked on the left side of the screen. It's hilarious stuff.
Not to mention Mr. Burmie LOL

Since the subject of the SNL work week and the host's involvement keeps coming up, I thought I'd post this video of a segment "60 Minutes" did a couple of years back where they went behind the scenes of the show. I had forgotten that it existed until I was going through boxes last night in my now years long project "operation: throw out VHS tapes".
Jude Law was the host that week (and, awesomely, it was the week of the Ashlee Simpson fuckup) and you see a bit of what it's like when the writers pitch to him and he and Lorne wittle things down, etc. Just stick Hugh in there instead of Jude and, I would imagine, picture a little more writing and pitching on the part of the host.
