Anytime any show wants to include one of the lesser used "Freaks and Geeks" alumni, I'm okay with that. If Stephen were replaced outright, I'd be bummed, but given that Stephen wasn't available, I'm perfectly fine with them bringing on a totally different type to clash with Booth a bit.

As long as they make it clear that Booth bonded with GG and that he will come back. I was disappointed that Booth didn't mention Gordon Gordon to "Sweets" as a comparison and to let us know that he wasn't forgotten. I forgot to mention that I think Stephen's nickname for Hugh is "Sweets", isn't it?

I don't know if any of you Brits have heard of the panel game I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue- it's a spoof of team games where they do pun-based games and it's hilarious... anyway, once, I went to a live recording and STEPHEN FRY was the guest star. I almost squeed out of the theatre. Oh, I'm devoted to I'm Sorry I Haven't a Clue! Graeme Garden is a genius! I read a recent interview with Tim Brooke-Taylor who was asked who he like to have as a guest panelist. He mentioned several people including Hugh. Of course, in print it was Hugh Lawrie. I think I can dig up that interview if anyone is interested.

Sorry. I don't really know what Stephen's nickname for Hugh is, but "Sweets" would be a great choice, wouldn't it?

Hib and LaurieIsLush - I really should get that photo "into the computer" I'm not as web-clueless as RSL, but I can certainly compete with his laziness :P). Someone asked about the height difference - the top of my head reached Stephen's shoulder. I'm about 5'7. Does this help? :) I would love to see that pic! I didn't notice anything bad about Hugh's pin stripe/taupe combo, but maybe my standards are low. Actually, I can be a fashion snob but I was too busy looking at his face. You're right, though. Its not a great combo. They dress him perfectly on the show, but left alone to his man devices, things are dicier. Un-excellent dressing just makes him macho. ;) But its a big improvement from the shirts of the 80s/90s (flowers, polka dots, etc). Actually, he whips one of those out every once in a while, even these days. I like the butt pic on the night watchman set. cute.

On a Stephen note: Did anyone else see the sad replacement they used as the shrink on Bones? really disappointing. They must bring Gordon Gordon back if only occasionally Yeah I was thinking the same thing last night. If you can't get Gordon Gordon, best to forget the therapy storyline as anyone else will pale in comparison to SF. I severely pity anyone who has to follow stephen fry. No mortal could live up.

I severely pity anyone who has to follow stephen fry. No mortal could live up. I've thought that too in regard to Hugh finding new friends in America. Though I'm sure plenty of folks would love to be his friend and he has made good friends here, still if S. Fry was your best friend and that was the level of kindliness and intelligence you were used to, wow, it would be hard to find anyone else to fill the bill. And for that matter, vice versa, if HL was your best friend, how could you find someone so lovely, so wise, so decent, so talented, so witty, so ... Guess they are lucky to have made friends so early in life with each other, and we are lucky to have found them both, whichever one we discovered first (though for those of us who started with Jeeves and Wooster, they were both first!).

I vote for "Diddums" which he used in the Derek Nipp-le sketch.

I vote for "Diddums" which he used in the Derek Nipp-le sketch. I'll go with "Tiger." As in, "...our language, Tiger, our language..."

Diddums  Oh 407, bless thee. I've finally scanned the photo! Here you go. I suggested him we'd take it with the banner in the background for the free PR :P My face are all smooshed and contorted for I was desperately trying not jump with joy.
