Ha Olivia, thanks for the zurbert reference! (How many here recognize the term?) It beats tickling anyday. Haha! Thanks for noticing. I also got it from the Cosby show. Great made up word for a hard to describe act. :)

Hugh's in the running for Hello Magazine's monthly Most Attractive Man, again. There's a link in the The Sympathy Vote's in Your Pocket:Online Polls thread. All discussion of the poll should be kept there as well.

I caught the BlackAdder special on Gold on Thursday and did feel that they had used a previous interview from pre-House days and merged it in. Hugh did comment that he doesn't do the stupid roles these days - but all I could notice was his teeth were crooked - pre House days. Hello all, I've been lurking in the corners of the forum for about 6 months now, but had to actually get off my lazy ass (well figuratively) and register as HL's teeth have now come up a couple of times in the discussion. Is there some story behind this or just that they have somehow magically straightened themselves between the 90s and House? I hadn't even noticed that they were that crooked to begin with or that there had been a change but this piqued my curiosity

I had to do some voice over work today. It was just a demo project, so we (myself and the editor) just used one of our interns to read the lines instead of hiring actual voice talent. He's a really sweet kid and so anxious to get everything right that he ends up kind of stammering and being way too hard on himself. The first read was, frankly, pretty bad. And, if I were a more nurturing kind of producer, I'd probably gently encourage him to give it another go. But I'm not. And neither is my editor who has become a big Hugh fan. So instead we told him that he needed to approach the spoffle from a different direction, he needed to understand how the spoffle was affecting his voice and that he needed to have a better appreciation, all around, for the spoffle. Said with the utmost seriousness, he nearly wet his pants because he felt very out of his league. Later on I took him to lunch because he really is a great guy. (That I just can't help teasing.) ;-)

Well played, sir! I adore the spoffle. :-)

Since we recently had the tummy discussion, for those who haven't seen tonight's episode yet, there is another lovely part of Hugh's anatomy briefly on display. Sigh.

Hugh_lover- 10-14-2008

Loved that! Was hoping for a little more than a high hip, especially considering what they got L.E. to show in Who's Your Daddy. I mean, turn about is fair play, right? :D Oh well, beggars can't be choosers I suppose.

But then if it had been, I probably wouldn't have been able to concentrate on the rest of the episode. Screen shots! The west coasters' demand screen shots! Don't fucking tease us! Yeah, if someone has the screen shot, please share. There are avatars to be made!!!

Is there some story behind this or just that they have somehow magically straightened themselves between the 90s and House? I hadn't even noticed that they were that crooked to begin with or that there had been a change but this piqued my curiosity I did a bit of investigation on this. In Fortysomething, in 2003, he definitely has crooked bottom teeth and they are a little on the yellow side, not a lot though. His upper teeth are straight but there are small gaps. So I checked the pilot of House and found...no change. As well, in the Pilot, there is no cover for Hugh's bald spot in the back. It is very noticeable. In the second episode, Paternity, big changes. His teeth are much, much whiter, noticeably so, his bottom teeth are perfectly straight, and there are no gaps in the upper teeth, and his incisors (the four teeth in front) look completely different. Also, no bald patch in back. They covered it. So all the changes occurred between him shooting the pilot and the decision by Fox to pick up the series.

I'm sure they just made Hugh get veneers so he would look better. A lot of celebs have them.

They could make all those changes in his teeth between 2 episodes? Seems pretty drastic. You can whiten teeth but can you straighten them and fill in gaps that quickly?

Veneers are like caps they stick on your teeth after shaving them down...it's kind of weird but it looks good and they are permanent.

There were several months between shooting the pilot episode and shooting "Paternity." And yea, why didn't we get more of his anatomy tonight? We got Lisa E's entire ass (practically) in Who's Your Daddy; what's good for the gander is good for the goose. NYPD Blue had a tradition of a full butt shot for almost every main character at some point. I mean full. If they could do that on ABC in the 90s and early 00s, then surely House could do that on Fox in the late 00s.
