Oh, nothing happened, it was just sort of a special with clips/segments about the winners and, iirc, nothing from the actual ceremony. It was kind of random. "House" didn't win, so they weren't even mentioned.

Wait...I'm drawing a blank. What happened the last time there was something Hugh-related at this event??
IIRC, they just did a sort of clip show with the winners & never mentioned the other nominees or showed any of the ceremony itself.
or, you know, what amy said :)

Oh ok...I didn't remember that!! Thanks guys!

Oh how lovely! I just went to the Zap2it TV listings site to see what's on tonight and there's the Hugh billboard ad with the paddles at the top of the page. Nice.
ETA: Helps take my mind off of the collapse of the economy and western civilization that's going on in the news right now. :(

This is from an interview posted in the Spoilers thread. Can anyone tell me what the hell Hugh's trying to say?
On his recent decision to re-up for several more seasons of the show:
Laurie: I certainly feel very, very blessed to be doing what I'm doing, playing this character which is a character that I still am fascinated by and love, I would say. Actually, I think that's part of an actor's job, to love the character that you play, in a way. I love the show, the people I'm working with – I'd be foolish not to go as far as the show goes, to go the distance with the show. If that's where it takes us then that's where it takes us. Then it may not. It might all end in a week's time, but that's partly me. I'm always thinking that way. I mean, I think this occurs in a woman’s life. It’s an enormous thing to happen, you know, your husband is cheating on you and what do you do and who are your allies and who comes to your aid? And all these things are, I think, relevant and equally true now, so it’s just a different observation, different observations on an age-old trouble.
Boffle- 09-15-2008
I think there must have been another question in the middle and someone transcribed it incorrectly.
hughsblues- 09-15-2008
Ok...thank you for posting that here!! I read that and had no clue! Anybody?
Edit...you could be right boffle...it doesn't seem to fit does it??
IHARTHUGH- 09-15-2008
Either a messed up quote, combining more than one answer, or he was really really tired, brain dead-like, even.
TJRX- 09-15-2008
Yes, it definitely seems as though they've printed his answer to three different questions all together. I've read and seen many, many interviews with Hugh, and even when he seemed tired to the bone, he managed to give coherent answers.
Chipmunk_love- 09-15-2008
Glad to hear all this. I was worried that I was too tired to catch some sort of connection between renewed contracts, cancelled shows, and cheating husbands.

The first part makes sense and seems to answer the asked question, but the second part starting with, "I mean, I think this occurs in a woman's life...." Is a definite huh? moment. You think what occurs in a woman's life? Menopause? Middle age anxiety? I'm with Boffle, there's a question missing.
olivia720- 09-16-2008
I'm sure Hugh didn't say all that stuff together.
Chipmunk_love- 09-16-2008
Yes, looking back over it now, it would seem Hugh is also talking about the House/Wilson/Amber rift. I think....
faust76- 09-16-2008
Hugh will be interviewed on RTL Exclusiv today at 18:30 (Germany).
I don't have the means to record it, so if someone else can perhaps record it and let me know, that'd be great. :)
Thanks!
