It's clear now. Thanks for explaining. I believe they are going to take some time off soon, even though they had a very very long strike-related break, they have been shooting since the strike ended. I only hope weather is not so unbearably rain forest-like in LA as it is sometimes here in Italy. Blood pressures plunges, your legs feel like jelly but at the same time as heavy as lead. I'm not familiar with LA weather but I'm afraid it can be even worse than here.

Well, that part of the country has a Mediterranean climate, which is generally considered to be the most pleasant in the country (certainly more pleasant than South Texas, I swear it hasn't gotten below 90 since April). Now, since you live in Italy, I guess it might be similar, but of course I haven't a clue. It's also a matter of personal preferences. I have a friend in Illinois who can't stand anything underneath 90 F -- thinks it's freezing. ... So I took a class on weather & climate last semester, if you couldn't tell...

Well chipmunk_love, you took a climate class, so you might be interested to know that in Northern Italy the so-called Continental weather type is the rule, which means rather cold, rainy winters and hot, wet summers. Gorgeous, isn't it? Believe me, the weather it's more bearable in Northern Africa, e.g. Egypt, as it's very dry. Now, I'm finished with weather details, I've been sidetracking a little too long.

The reason they went from filming S4 straight into S5 is because there was, and still is, the possibility of another strike. If SAG and AMPTP do not come to an agreement, they want to have as much of the season finished. On the plus side, if they do settle (fingers crossed), they'll finish filming the season extra-extra early and they can have an unusually long break before filming S6.

Boffle- 08-06-2008

Ooh, long break for HL=Paper Soldier finished, screenplay of the Gun Seller finished and prinicipal shooting begun, new Hugh-only (or Hugh and friends) cd/dvd of his new musical efforts, other movie projects—perhaps the Bond über-villain or a challenging indy, and that's just for starters. Scheduling HL, that's my new job! (Would that it were, would that it were.) 8)

marykir- 08-06-2008

That doesn't sound like much of a break :) Now, you've probably seen the front of the Dr. Cockroach PhD trading card. But have you seen the back?

Scheduling HL, that's my new job! (Would that it were, would that it were.) Awesome. And when he passes out cold from completing all of those projects after filming House...my job as your new assistant is to revive Hugh. And my methods are not to be discussed in public. Now, you've probably seen the front of the Dr. Cockroach PhD trading card. But have you seen the back? I definitely didn't see it...and that's freakin adorable! So...um...the new promo pic of House showing off Hugh's hands and arms...what's the verdict?? Airbrushing be damned...I kinda like it! A lot!

Boffle- 08-06-2008

Sorry hughsblues I'll do all the personal Hugh-wrangling, but I'd love to have you answering the phones that will be ringing off the hook (maybe Stephen will call!). Love the trading cards. What a lot of teeth Dr. C has! Also I may have to photoshop his eyes to cerulean blue. Just have the urge somehow... And yes, the promo pics are lovely, dreamy and fiiine! ETA: I just noticed that Dr. C has a pencil-thin mustache on his upper lip: gives him that Floyd kinda look. (anyone get that reference?)

Sorry for muscling in, Boffle and Hughsblues, but you both seem to have forgotten that the poor guy would need slurpy and nutritious food to face all your wrangling and "reviving" sessions. He should be properly fed to survive the fights and, how can I say, perform at high levels. As he openly admitted to loving Italian cuisine (you remember what he said in the truffle interview?), he might hire me as his personal chef. I could also provide him with a daily truffle delivery, when in season. I should ask for a mortgage, but it would be worth the investment. Also, you may not be aware that truffles are believed to have aphrodosiac effects, so they would guarantee my own personal wrangling sessions! Rushing to look for truffles-based recipes in my cookbooks!

Boffle- 08-07-2008

Back of the line, bewitched! Of coourse, Jo being at the front of the line and there being no line is a bit of an issue, but nonetheless! Scat!

...thin mustache on his upper lip: gives him that Floyd kinda look. (anyone get that reference?) Floyd...as in Floyd the barber...from the Andy Griffith show? *is ashamed*

Boffle- 08-07-2008

Hee! Yeah, that's the one. Hey, it was my goofy thought, you shouldn't be ashamed. What else is TVland for?

He should be properly fed to survive the fights and, how can I say, perform at high levels. See...I'm ok with sharing! I do the reviving and you guys do whatever you do. It's boffle that's creating a problem... Besides let's not forget that while we're here cyber-fighting over who's gonna do what...bailey beats us all to the punch by picking him up at the airport and controlling where he goes from there!! Think people...think. Getting away from my delusions for a second...I think we were all talking about the House S4 DVD a while ago and trying to figure out whether the blooper reel was or wasn't gonna happen. I think this pretty much settles that. Bummer. I'm looking forward to some of the other features though. Also...this doesn't really have anything to do with anything...but the thread in the General House Chatter area kinda inspired me. At the end of last summer when that other place was getting to be too much to take the Hugh Laurie thread over there really started thinning out when a bunch of you migrated here. It was more than the usual summertime lull in the action that happens every now and again. It was just empty and postless for days on end. I got so freaked out that everyone left and it was gonna be me talking to myself over there! I'm so glad I got invited here cause I had no idea it existed...and not to get cuddly wuddly and weird on everybody but I love hanging out in this corner. It's the thread I hang out on the most and one of the main reasons...aside from the Hugh love that brings us all here obviously...is that you're all pretty awesome. So thanks. :D

I think this pretty much settles that. Bummer. I'm looking forward to some of the other features though. On my screen, it cuts off with only half of "Meet the Writers" showing. It could say anything after that. I checked at Universal Studios, but it doesn't have anything about the extras. It does have this, however, and I just want to know why they think Hugh Laurie is short and stocky.

On my screen, it cuts off with only half of "Meet the Writers" showing. It could say anything after that. Even if you use the little scroll bar? I checked at Universal Studios, but it doesn't have anything about the extras. It does have this, however, and I just want to know why they think Hugh Laurie is short and stocky. Even if I was in the market for a House lapel pin...and I'm not!...that one wouldn't be my favorite. It's ok...but I agree...something happened in the scale down process cause I love the picture of House on Fox's House page and it looks like the pin is an all black version of that. Strange!
