And is it too weird to admit that I have a secret fear that if I don't buy my $8.50 ticket the movie will bomb and it will be all my fault. Just me?
Luckily, I don't think the film needs to make a lot of money for the studio to be satisfied. I know that I read somewhere that it was produced for a relatively small amount of money. Not indie-level small, but in the range of $25-35 million, which isn't much considering the asking prices of Reeves and Whitaker.

I'm curious. How much money would these two actors get? And what kind of money would Hugh get for his supporting role? Anybody got any estimates? Facts?

Geez, it seems like they are really pushing the film! I've seen tons of commercials and just heard that the trailer is going to be shown after "Inside the NBA" Hugh got mentioned along with KR, FW and Common

I think you will be able to identify all the HL fans at the show because they will be the only women in the theatre for this movie.
That's just silly. Only half the women in the theater will be there for Hugh. The other half will be there because Neo from the Matrix movies will be there.

Isn't there another whole game before "Inside the NBA"? That seems like kinda weird promotion - hey! in 4 hours we're gonna show a trailer! woo!
There should be a huge overlap between NBA audience and SK audience though.
eta:rottentomatoes.com says SK might take in $10M this weekend. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio is "feeling quite good" about the release.

I've got an abundance of movie tickets at my disposal (and no Rolling Stones movie anywhere but IMAX, dammit!) so maybe I'll go see Street Kings tomorrow.
Other than that showing of Stuart Little I was too high (on life!) to remember I've never seen an HL movie in the theatre.
It sounds like the kind of movie me and the other person I'd be going with would thoroughly enjoy.
....
Or maybe we'll go see that mediocre Will Ferrell basketball movie

I finally got a chance to look at the new photos of HL between takes. He does look relaxed and dare I say happy.
Whenever I see pictures like these, or hear his co-stars comment on working with him, it seems that his discription of himself as a royal pain to work with is just more self deprecation. And he seems to have a great relationship with the crew on House. Those who work in the industry always say that the star(s) who are agreeable and friendly to everyone on set are a rarity.

I'm watching Keanu on The Tonight Show. No wonder Hugh has a crush on him - he loves motorcycles, lived in a hotel for most of his early career, likes his privacy, and plays in a rock band. They sound pretty similar in some aspects.

He is charming!
Does he mention our darling Hugh?

Keanu even wears tan boots with a dark suit (at least he did on the Wed. morning shows...) :)

Oh God, I'm starting to ship "Heanu" - Stop The Madness! :curse:

And I swear it looked like he had on those same kind of grey rag socks that Hugh wears. No mention of him though, and the SK clip was Hugh-less.

Down, Chippers, down, girl. Relax a bit. Have a nice cuppa and a biscuit in some lovely inland place far, far away from any of those nasty ships. They just founder on the rocks and then you have to swim to shore...
Hugh-less
My very least favorite word. :sob:

Oof. Roger Ebert gave Street Kings1.5 stars.
Meanwhile, Academy Award winner Forest Whitaker doesn't seem to know what movie this should be, while "House" star Hugh Laurie -- giving exactly the same performance he does on TV -- may be in on the joke, even if nobody else is.
I'm not exactly sure what he means by this?

I read the whole piece and don't get it :?
And this line really stings:
"Are these people trying to make the "Showgirls" of retro-1990s cop movies?"
Ouch!
