The new lineup for Leno is: Fr 9/21: Hugh Laurie, Sherri Shepherd, the Editors That's too bad. I was looking forward to Ali Larter.

hughsblues- 09-17-2007

Bailey I have nothing to add...I just have to say I agree with every word!! Unfortunately I can see Hugh never winning an Emmy for the reasons you just said but you said it so well it was worth mentioning.

Ranee- 09-17-2007

I don't think there's anything spoilery in this as far as I can tell, (& someone please double check for me), but FYI, scans of the new TV Guide interview with HL, and may I say I just dropped dead of the hotness in that main pic. http://community.livejournal.com/house_cuddy/884216.html?#cutid1 BTW, the interviewer is Jon Canter (not SF as we hoped) & the interview is mostly about stuff other than House. ETA - sorry, apparently there's a prop spoiler in there, I clesarly have no idea what is or isn't a spoiler anymore, but that's what I'm told. So beware. MOD NOTE: The TV Guide article has more than a prop spoiler in it. Please avoid if you are staying spoiler free. Spoiler Policy is here for clarification.

Geez. We should change the subtitle of this thread to "I am not pregnant."

cindylouwho- 09-17-2007

I love in the tv guide article that he says he runs 6-8 miles a day. If that was/is true, I would like to know when he sleeps to fit it all in. Because I could use the same time management skills. :)

sautomne- 09-17-2007

I wish I could come up with some sort of insightful analysis of that interview. Unfortunately, my brain stopped functioning when I laid eyes on the gorgeous photos.

I love in the tv guide article that he says he runs 6-8 miles a day. If that was/is true, I would like to know when he sleeps to fit it all in. Because I could use the same time management skills. :) Actually, his statement on running six to eight miles a day is immediately followed by: And I lie, which keeps me thin. Lying is always better than time management.

Silja- 09-17-2007

That's a good interview. My love for Jon Canter knows no bounds. Actually, his statement on running six to eight miles a day is immediately followed by: And I lie, which keeps me thin. And we probably can't believe the 125/80 and 55 in resting heart rate either but it's still pretty good for a 47yo smoker. FWIW, it is spoilery. There's a thing about a prop I didn't know about and am rather annoyed I found out.

amysusanne- 09-17-2007

Lying is always better than time management. It gets me through the day. And, um, I hit that link and thought, "what's the big deal about this picture...why're they so..." and then I saw it. Wow.

marykir- 09-17-2007

I'm really glad now that my TV Guide didn't arrive today. Because the mail that did come was crammed in the box any old way. Hugh should do more interviews by email. This one and the one with Ray Richmond (?) were excellent.

Jumping in... hello all! Loved the interview as well. Pointing out the highlights in it would be quoting the whole thing. I just watched the Emmy snippets marykir was so kind to post (Thanks!) and have a question for those amongst you, who have better lip reading skills than me. There's a very short shot of Hugh and Lisa near the end, directly after James Spader is announced. Hugh is saying something to her and one can even make out his voice (at least I think so with my headphones on) and I swear I hear "I'll be back" every time I rewind and watch that snippet. Should I no longer suppress the maniacal grin from spreading all over my face or can someone put me out of my misery (or elation, as it where) and tell me words that are more likely?

shutterbug12- 09-17-2007

Hugh's interview absolutely delighted me. I particularly loved the bit about the "little bitty puppy", "Lancasterster" and "we can't verb nouns like that". :D

iamdaffodils- 09-17-2007

Ranee - thanks for posting the link. Those photos. Good. God. Well, I'm quite sure with Hugh on the cover my copy will make it here promptly by oh Saturday. Patrick Dempsey on the cover, of course I get it on Tuesday.

Boudleaux- 09-17-2007

My God! I could read that interview over and over again. I may print it out and sleep with it. (Okay, maybe I'll wait for the actual issue to hit the stands.) What a clever and witty man Hugh Laurie is. Now I'm headed over to Amazon to look for Jon Canter's book.

I love in the tv guide article that he says he runs 6-8 miles a day. If that was/is true, I would like to know when he sleeps to fit it all in. Because I could use the same time management skills. :) He prolly does it on the fox lot (treadmill). I'm impressed! Guess he's through with the boxing? Ohhh, he said he also "lies". I get it. So no running and whatnot. I was jealous of his stats! But he has to do some stuff. His bods too good for not doing any exercise. Very delightful article indeed. With the email he has time to craft even more clever replies. And gorgeous pics, too. I like it when he gives straight answers tho, otherwise I never learn anything new about him! I also wanted to gush about how amazing he is. Again. Love the part about how part of the self deprication was to make us "normies" feel better. How sweet! Oh and he's 48 now :)
