For lack of a better place to put this....I'll put it here. I so want to meet the person that decided to re-cut the Blackadder series into a rousing, patriotic war epic. I giggled for quite some time after this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Tl1XEor0PvA

Oh Bailey, that was lovely. *sniff* Thanks.

That final scene in BA goes forth where they show them going over the top and then it fades into a view of the field in present day is just heart wrenching. ETA: Heads up Hugh fans. Down in the off topic RL section 407 has started an Emmy thread for those interested in keeping abreast of the big night - and I'm sure Marykir will have clips up as humanly possible.

And speaking of Blackadder, Amazon has the entire DVD collection on sale again. It's down to $55 from the normal $99. Link here.

Is HL alone at the emmys?

saara_zaara- 09-16-2007

Yes, he is, hugegosorry. Come chat in the Emmy thread here http://houseofwhining.com/viewtopic.php?t=273

The Emmys are over and I just wanted to :curse: that HL didn't win! No offense to Mr. Spader, just :crying: for HL.

galaxygirl- 09-16-2007

I agree, I'm sorry he didn't win, but by now everyone knows how I feel about the winner. It's a weird feeling, feeling bad on one side and completely ecstatic on the other side.

I know there are like 75 pages of emmy comments and I reallly read like probably half of them, but my eyes are bugging out and my glasses are in the car... So is anyway else weirded out that Jo wasn't there? I think I might be bumming big time. I know speculation isn't always appreciated, but is anyone thinking what I'm thinking? Shes always been at the MAJOR awards show, of which SAG is not, no offense to any members of SAG reading this. Also, love the no hair piece! Awesome!

I'm thinking that this years Emmy's awards are about 2 weeks later than last years which is the difference between kids being on summer break and kids being in school. I don't remember entirely the other breaks in the British school system, but it wouldn't surprise me if the Golden Globes, at least, fell in the timeframe of winter break. Beyond that, I wouldn't hazard a guess. But I'm not weirded out by her absence. She does, after all, live quite a distance away. Frankly, I'm more amazed that she makes it over as often as she does. That's very cool, IMO.

We know Jo attends those with him. The whole family is here during the kids' summer vacation (he rents a house for a couple of months.) I know Jo and the kids were here for the Emmys last year -- they were at rehearsals for the BFTV performing at the TV Guide party and Jo attended the awards show. But last year the Emmys were on August 27. This year they were 3 weeks later. I wouldn't be surprised if they had just returned home for the start of the school year.

amysusanne- 09-17-2007

For that matter, for better or worse, this is old hat for him now. The first year's Emmys was was obviously something to work a special trip around, win or lose. Maybe now she'd rather time her visits around actual visits with her husband and not celebrity schmooze nights. Especially when she's just gone back after their summer break over here. That's a long flight to spend twelve hours in hell. Shes always been at the MAJOR awards show, of which SAG is not, no offense to any members of SAG reading this. She didn't attend the SAGs the first time he was nominated. His "date" was David Shore, iirc.

iamdaffodils- 09-17-2007

So I wonder if any BFTV footage from the TV Guide party will make its way onto the net today? And if Bonnie Somerville got Hugh to say "F**k the Emmys!" again.

amysusanne- 09-17-2007

I really doubt we'll see any cell phone cam type footage, but "extra" cohosted the party, so I imagine that there'll be *something* on that show tonight. And then all of the TVG shows this week.

Misread.
