Stephen Fry did a series of interviews (specifically for the web, I think). The topics are heroes, technology, learning, and the internet. They are located here.

Stephen said: "A tree frog spends all its time being a tree frog, it doesn't wake up in the morning saying 'am I a good tree frog, or a bad tree frog? Do I do well? Gosh, I wish I were a walrus'". He's just so intelligent and wise. He makes me want to be smarter. I could listen to him talk all day.

Those were fantastic. Thanks for pointing them out.
My fave part is how his by-line says "National Treasure."
That site looks addictive, too.
I love that he doesn't approve of Windows. (I use Windows and don't approve so I understand.)

dare we dream that Hugh is going to be interviewed by Stephen????
Who else could it be? My heart is pounding a little faster now.

What does "coming soon" mean? I want it NOW!!!!
That will be a wonderful interview.
Other than Stephen, the only person I could imagine they mean would be Emma Thompson as she's better known to American audiences. Most of his other"longtime" friends just aren't that famous here.

i'm not really sure who else it could be either. i would say it's definitely stephen given the fact that they didn't include his name. i don't know why. i know that he is well known here by a lot of people, but he's not the type of well known that sells magazines. i could see emma getting a name check. but, then, i guess it could be someone that we wouldn't even immediately think about and/or i could be way overthinking a simple "coming soon" blurb.

It wouldn't be all that surprising if House got the cover of the Sep. 24th issue, or at least a Q&A type article. Grey's and Private Practice got pages and pages the last couple issues.

Yes, well, that's Grey's and a Grey's spinoff, isn't it?
It would be awesome if SF did the interview!

I'll be so annoyed if we find out that, secretly, Hugh's been longtime friends someone really irritating like Kathy Griffin or Rosie O'Donnell or Gilbert Gottfried and one of them will be conducting the interview.

Really interesting article in today's Washington Post about the increasing use of British actors in American TV shows, including a fairly big segment on HL's experience with House. The date line is actually Sunday, its an early relesae from its weekend edition, I think.

Stephen Fry interview I don't know how to describe this interview with Stephen. He is so open. He describes himself as "painfully honest" now. It's an understatement.
It is in 5 parts. Part 3 is the HL experience.

The Washington Post article is a little odd. The writer takes a few bizarre cracks at people.
When executives at the broadcast networks saw Laurie in "House," "people realized, 'Oh, actors act. They play all sorts of different characters,' " Reilly continued in one of those quotes that make you want to gouge your eyes out when you read them."It's the center of the global film industry out here, not just the American one, and you've had foreigners infiltrating, I'm afraid, ever since it started a hundred years ago," said Lewis, lecturing like Mary Poppins in dumbed-down terms.
And then there's this:
Since 2004, Laurie has played irascible, unlikable, emotionally damaged Dr. Gregory House, turning that show into the unlikeliest of Fox hits and, in the process, becoming the rumpled middle-aged man whom American women most want to pet, and fix.
I don't find House unlikeable and I guarantee that petting him and fixing him are not among the things I want to do.

I guarantee that petting him and fixing him are not among the things I want to do.
Does petting not have sexual connotations any longer?

I could listen to Stephen all day too. I just adore him so much. Wish I could be friends with him!
Stephen interviewing Hugh would be filled with lots of inside jokes and absurdity and just all squishy good stuff. Hope that comes to pass.
