Putting 10 screws in anything is complicated. You should see my curtain rods :)
marykir, here I'm trying to be somber and sympathetic, and you make me laugh like the dickens!
olivia, I think the first blog comment hit it about right - must hurt like hell on a jetski.
Poor Stephen - intrepid soul, though - give him our best wishes, iamdaffodils!
The guy who claims Stephen is staying with him while recovering from his broken arm blogged this "alleged" quote from Stephen.
While I doubt the source, the quote makes me laugh and like to think it's possible.
I would suggest that you think again and make no hasty decisions when feeling glum,’ replied Stephen. ‘Have a day or two to think about it. I regret very much the tattoo of Hugh Laurie I had etched on my… Well, let’s not dwell on that.
 :blushing:

Sure wish we had a "M'colleague" thread for Stephen
Richard Madeley s living in an alternate reality but his best friend act with Stephen sure is funny. Now where would stephen put a tatoo of Hugh?
Newsday claims Hugh will be at the Super Bowl. Of course, someone implied he'd be at the SAG Awards too :)
Hopefully the wind will stop blowing before Sunday so my local Fox station isn't as flaky as it was Tuesday...
The Super Bowl is on Fox this year. As the star of Fox's biggest scripted show, I'm sure Hugh was offered a ticket (or two.) But I doubt he has confided in Newsday as to whether or not he accepted it.
Now I got all excited and was really thinking he would attend with his son and RSL, but you could be right, Poeia
Yeah, the likelihood that Hugh would go to the Superbowl would be about as likely as him crossing the pond for the dumb SAG awards.
Hmm, I would rate it a bit more likely than the SAGs - House is in the juicy post Super Bowl spot and Hugh could have been asked by Fox to go to the game as part of his contractual promo duties.
And hey, maybe Hugh would think it was interesting. Anyone else remember
when John Lennon used to hang out at Monday Night Football?
I have no problem visualizing Hugh having a great time at the Super Bowl so he may be inspired to come over whether he is contractually required to or not. Remember he flew all that way for the boxing match and flew back home.
I don't know that I would say the same about award shows. No matter whether he is up for an award or not, I get the impression that he absolutely loathes these events. Of course, we are then deprived of his wonderful speeches and little views of his chest hair through his open tux shirt. Not that I look or anything but you know what I mean.
I kinda feel bad that I've been thinking the whole "join Ryan Seacrest for the pregame red carpet!!!" thing is completely and totally stupid...and now I'm totally gonna have to tape it in case Hugh is there. And Hugh being there to promote the postgame House episode for the network does make sense...even though I still think a red carpet and Ryan Seacrest interviewing people at the SuperBowl is kinda awkward and out of place and weird. Oh well...it'll be cute if he's there pretending to give a hoot about American football.
Oohhh...and it's in Arizona so it should be warm...he can wear a tshirt if he goes and let us all see those lovely biceps! That would make all my thoughts about the whole thing being stupid just go away!
So, the Fox Sports chairman was shocked, just last year, to find that a lot celebrities attend the Super Bowl? Seriously? Was he in some sort of coma in the many, many years prior to that revelation? That is really one of the more puzzling things I've ever heard an executive say.
Hugh being there seems completely random, in spite of the show airing afterwards. But, whatever...if he's there, hope he has fun. There's no contractual obligation to force him there, so if he's there it's either his choice to be there or they sent the biggest fruit basket/swag bag *ever*.
eta: I was going to try to work the word "there" in one more time, but it just seemed a bit much...
