RE: Hugh's contract.
In a live webchat with David Shore for the English channel Five, he said this:
I've heard that Hugh Laurie doesn't enjoy being away from home as much as House requires. Are you able to say how many more series there are likely to be?
David Shore: A lot, unfortunately for him. If it works we'll keep going... so another 4 years at least!
This was whilst S3 was showing in both the US and the UK.
I took part in that chat and unfortunately, DS didn't answer any of my questions, lol. He sucks :tritter:

How do you find out the guest schedule so far ahead of time? When I got to the websites of the various talk shows to check the guest schedule they only have the current week.
This site lists all the talk shows:

Hugh Laurie and the Editors?

And not that interbridge needs anybody to back up how awesome they are, I'm going to: Sue's site is the single most reliable chat show site on the web. In spite of the fact that she gets most of her information from the networks she's occasionally more reliable than even their media departments. She rocks.

Thanks DOB!

Leno is a mystery to me. I'm astounded by his popularity. Really really it's a headshaker....
I will TIVO through all this crap to get to Hugh though.

Ugh, Leno. Why doesn't Hugh ever go to Conan? He's known to be a huge House&HL fanatic, and an interview with Conan fangirling all over Hugh would win so much.
amysusanne- 09-08-2007
conan is in new york and the couple of times hugh's done press on the east coast conan's been on hiatus for the week. *including* when hugh did SNL. which sucked since conan frequently has that week's host on during the season. that's why everyone holds their breath whenever something like the upfronts rolls around because it seems that conan is even higher on the wish list of hugh interviews than "the daily show" is. as it is, leno and craig are easy, right there and popular enough for nbc and fox to be happy sending hugh there than sending him across the country. and, you know, he's probably content with that as well.

The perfect solution would be for Conan to do a week of shows from L.A. - which I believe he's done in the past, but it's been awhile.
And hopefully it wouldn't be a week when Hugh has gone home to London.
Jouse- 09-08-2007
Oh, Hugh and Conan, deprived of each other by timing and space. It's tragic, really.
At least we have this.

No matter how many times I see that it never fails to makes me laugh.

I was just looking at the late night lineup page, and noticed that a few of the LA-based talk shows didn't have listings yet for the week of 9/17-9/21, which is when Hugh will be on Leno. In November 2006, he was on Ferguson and Leno within a week or so of each other. So, perhaps we can hope for other appearances around the same time as the Leno one?
amysusanne- 09-09-2007
it was that case the year before, too. i'm a fan of tradition, so fingers crossed. {g}
craig *is* taping that week, but they haven't put out their taping schedule.
sugarplum_pdx- 09-09-2007
You're right .. I had forgotten it was the same in 2005! Now I'm even more hopeful. :) Even though I don't really like Leno, I've actually enjoyed all of Hugh's appearances on there in the past (Leno seems bearable with someone like Hugh, compared to when he interviews a young female celebrity). So I'm looking forward to Hugh on Leno, but to have him appear on Craig too would be utterly fantastic.
And it's nice that we can now safely assume that he'll be the top guest on any show he does appear on, so he'll get 2 longish interview segments (similar to last year's appearances). Here's hoping that there will be some good questions too .... I don't mind if they mention some of the basics again like "where are you from" and "do your wife & kids live out here yet" as long as they don't spend the whole time on that and we get some new info too.

Aw, thanks! I'm a huge SF fan! Huge! So anything QI related just delights me as does Alan Davies to ridiculous proportions.
