Hey did anyone used to go to that Devoted to Hugh website? ...anyone know the deal with the site?? The woman who ran the site got a nasty message about one of her fan sites that made her decide to take all her sites down. She didn't supply any more details than that. (She is leaving the forum up for people though.)

More info on Stephen and his broken arm. http://richardmadeley.blogspot.com/2008/01/have-break-stephen-fry-style.html Of course, I don't know how reliable this guy is since he claims to be Stephen's "closest friend"

Is anybody else having a problem with it? Also, there is a brief quicktime clip over on HL.net of Hugh at the premier of 'No Country for Old Men' which I don't think has been mentioned here before. It's on the News page, just below the Friday Night Live photos.

houserocket that link is legit. That's the blog of Richard Madeley, a famous British talk show host (with his wife Judy. They are uncannily known as "Richard & Judy.") Both Fry and Laurie have appeared separately and/or together on their shows. They apparently do have Stephen staying with them (thus the photo of him in their house showing off his sling) but of course a good portion of the entry is a parody. For example, I doubt that Stephen lit a pipe and then demanded: Bring my laptop in from the car and we’ll begin...I was hoping to finish my libretto for my new opera based around the legend of Grunhilda, the one armed Bavarian bandit and truffle hunter....And we’ll finish by writing a couple of essays on Tamil nationalism and security exploits in Mozilla based browsers. I thought after some dinner, we might spend the rest of the night writing poems and end with a game of Scrabble.’

I can't believe Stephen is such good friends with them. Richard is so smarmy and sleazy. I havent been able to watch Richard & Judy for along time and recently caught the first show of the series and it was awful- 15 minutes watching viral videos from the net including a cat that meowed hello... They were very nice about Hugh though back in 2005 but damnit Hugh is Stephens closest friend not Richard :D

Good Lord, that Italian thing is strange! And he looks rather sweet. So, what's the basic idea? I realise he's saying "I am blah, I am blah, I am blah" but it all moved very fast :D Poor Stephen. And his writing arm, too.

I have no idea if they are actually friends or not (and I really didn't reach Richard's blog), but that picture looks to be photoshopped from this one: http://www.bryntirionschool.bridgend.gov.uk/images/stephen_fry.jpg

And I particularly hope this part is not true: "Judy was soon shoving shag in his bowel and helping him to light it."

The news reports of Stephen braking his arm say he broke his right arm. The picture on Richard Madeley's blog shows his left arm in the sling.

Back to bed...

Yeah, I was about to post a link to the original version of that Stephen pic, but amysusanne beat me to it. The blog sounds like a joke to me ... sort of poking fun at the idea of Stephen not being able to do all his billion projects now that his arm is broken. I doubt he is really staying with this guy (even if they are friends).

I took another look and you are spot on. The picture you link to is exactly the same except for the sling and chaging the color of his t-shirt. Not to mention that he talks about Stephen having his wrist plastered, but it looks like his left arm is in a sling without plaster and, as someone above pointed out, his right arm was broken if we can trust the news report). I am so observant when people tell me what to look for. :sherlock: And though it has now disappeared from his blog, he also had the nerve to suggest he should replace Alan Davies on QI :curse:

The Daily Mail is at it again... warning: paparazzi photos of Hugh & Jo here Personally, I think that's the expression I'd have on my face if it were my turn to pick up the dog doo :)

I have no idea if they are actually friends or not (and I really didn't reach Richard's blog), but that picture looks to be photoshopped from this one: http://www.bryntirionschool.bridgend.gov.uk/images/stephen_fry.jpg I thought that sling looked odd. eta: Regarding the Daily Mail pictures and story: true marykir. And Jo has really lost a lot of weight. She is even tinier than I thought. I especially loved this part of the article: Early last year he was seen looking depressed as he was pictured on his own in LA in a small fishing boat. Unshaven and staring blankly into space, looking like he had the weight of the world on his shoulders. Hmm, he was unshaven in the middle of the filming season last year....I wonder if that could be for a part he's playing. DUH. No, I guess it was because he was so depressed he didn't feel up to shaving. There's some brilliant minds at work on that paper for sure.

And though it has now disappeared from his blog, he also had the nerve to suggest he should replace Alan Davies on QI :curse: Okay, I finally read the damn blog. Is it me or is Richard suffering from some sort of delusional complex whereby he imagines Stephen needs his help for days on end (for a broken arm!) and thereby imparts his work ethic? What a fucking weirdo. And then he gets into it in the comment section with other posters. Personally, I think that's the expression I'd have on my face if it were my turn to pick up the dog doo I guess he can keep it together better than I can since I'm almost always reduced to the dry heaves when I'm out with my dog and forced to don the plastic glove.
