Is the lack of all members of the band (and let's face it, Hugh is probably the most famous member at this point) the reason for tickets being only $5?
I'm going to guess that "Heroes" fans will be out there supporting Greg and, most likely, some of his other castmates. They go to these things, they're just not as vocal as "House" fans are.
But, yeah...I'm guessing this is just a way for them to play for a live audience in a low key atmosphere. Plus, I'm also going to guess that some of these guys are probably really *bored* right now.

Hugh is the only band member I know.
Greg Grunberg, who started the band, was a guest in Sex Kills -- he was Mr. Neuberger who's wife gave her heart to Howard Hessman/Dr. Johnny Fever.
So now you know another member.

and in case you still can't recall he was the one who gave a very painful approval to the transpant by kneeing Dr. House

I hear they are a very good band so even without Hugh, they will probably still sound pretty good. Not to mention, the money goes to charity. I would say if you were planning on going, you should still go. It's for a good cause and I am sure they appreciate it.

I was just thinking that the commercials may be one reason why Hugh went back to the stubble even though he is on a break. I'm sure they wanted him to look like House when they were filming.

:) Yup, I remember him well in that role. I guess what I actually mean is that, what with the venue being two hours away and the concert being at 10:30 pm and my alarm clock for work going off at 5:30 am the next day, I don't know any of the other band members well enough to get me out to Hollywood tomorrow night. For Hugh, yes, but now, I think I'll just wait for a different show. But I hope that those who do go have lots of fun. I've seen BFTV before and they are a great band!
(And many thanks to whoever deleted my duplicate post. I was posting from my phone and kept getting strange session errors. Then I ended up with two identical post and couldn't delete the second one. So thanks, mystery deleter!)

How much money did they throw at him to do that ad?? Man he looks so good in it. Nice hair. very nice.
I'm surprised to see him doing ads at this stage of the game.

First time I was in Germany I saw Harrison Ford in an ad for Lancia, so it's not exactly odd for a high profile star to be doing something. Besides, I'd argue that Uma is a bigger international star. And it was less of a straightforward "buy this" ad and more of a promo, at least in my view. (Like, order this satellite service and get "House.")

And it's not like he wasn't doing a *lot* of ads (both on screen and voiceovers) at the height of his fame in the UK. I think he's been fairly unapologetic about the income it brings in. This is the first on camera ad he's done since "House", but he's still continued to do commercial voiceovers for the past few years.

Something about the plans of Band From TV for more "big gigs" in this article at nationalledger.com, in which Bonny Somerville is mentioning a tour, appearances in Las Vegas, the fact that the upcoming CD and DVD are separate entities (if I interpret correctly) and that they'll do a press tour.
:thumb up: Cool!

Unless it's one of the big money gigs she's talking about, I'm kind of surprised that some company didn't snap them up to play a Super Bowl party. They're right in line with the usual corporate entertainment for that weekend.

Well, if you guys are all willing to chip in like 10 bucks, they can come to my friend's annual superbowl party/rock paper scissors tournament. It's not glamorous and Eva Longoria is not allowed to come, but other than that, it should be fun.

I'm in. I'll bring the guacamole and the sangria.
Dibs on the keyboard player.

Ah, but donkeykong is clever. She didn't say that *we* could come, only that our donation to her fund would be used to get the band to show up. She's crafty!
fffaw- 01-10-2008
I just wanna know why Eva Longoria is banned from the party. Does she cheat at rock/paper/scissors? Does she spill chili on the white rug and pretend she didn't? Does she drink all the beer and not bring any? Or just her general annoyance factor? ;-)
