Housewhore4- 10-24-2010

Hugh's Blues Album on Facebook has posted that it's now completed and will be out in the Spring. Crossing fingers that Hugh will perform at NOLA Jazzfest this year - maybe with Dr. John or Irma Thomas or anyone else also on the album. He's not on the schedule (checked). The last artist recorded was Tom Jones last night! That would be AMAZING! I'm going to school in Florida and the festival is the week finals finish up. My dad and I are already planning a weekend and to have Hugh perform would just be icing on the cake.

PHILTRUM- 10-24-2010

I'm sure I'm not the only one in Los Angeles thinking a gig at the House of Blues is required. Or maybe he just needs to do a national tour as soon as House wraps for the year. The timing would be right if the album is due out in the spring.

Ohh, I hope he will do a European tour one day... Hmm well, one can dream, right? :D

When he does BFTV shows, he dresses in jeans and a t-shirt. There's not a t-shirt in sight. Very tailored, buttoned-down. Looks like the old-style jazz artists from the 50s.

I didn't change channels after watching the PBS show on advertising tonight and was pleasantly surprised to see a repeat of the 2009 (?) blues music awards from Memphis. Couldn't help but dream a bit of what might happen in the future... :D Award shows aren't my thing...other than those that are House-related...but I was sorry I couldn't watch this one. I don't know if the whole show would have kept the same format, but it was 90% performers casually playing blues and obviously enjoying it and each other and only about 10% devoted to a simple announcement of an award and a very brief, sincere "thank you." Seemed right up Hugh's alley. So, maybe we should forget about the darn Emmys and start sending energy in this direction. I bet there's a very good chance that this one might mean more to him

Brief video interview with Hugh during the recording of his Simpsons appearance. It contains a spoiler about his Simpsons character (the same one that has been revealed in various articles). I'm sure this is originally from the official Simpsons site, but I can't watch there from where I am, so the link goes to youtube. ETA: Some more bits, including clips of the episode, in this Treehouse of Horror XXI featurette ETA2: and the b-roll Hopefully I didn't confuse links now and this is really the three different vids and not the same one over again  thanks to MsHousefan

Thanks for those links, to21be! They are indeed three different vids and they are all hilarious! What a treat to see these BTS clips of Hugh voicing his Simpsons character.

Thanks, 221B!

First promo pic for The Oranges.

With all the excitement about his album coming out I'd almost forgotten about The Oranges. Yea! And I'm always amazed how "un House" like he looks when he shaves and wears clothes House never wears.

Me too. Just from the pic, he looks closed in and repressed, severe. I wonder which accent he'll pull out for this role. If it's another American one, I'll have House in my mind for a little bit until I adjust.

I think I remember hearing he does not speak in his normal British accent (sad) but instead has retained an American one.
