Hi, I need a picture of Hugh looking at the camera with a glass of champagne, for a birthday card. I can't seem to find one on my own. Does this man not drink any champagne? Thanks for your help!!

You might be able to find him drinking some Schweppes tonic water. :-)

I did find the Schweppes add. But I am hoping for some "cheers" picture. Like Georges Clooney wishing a happy new year to all the wonderful women in the world. I bet you had it, too.

He made a champagne toast in his recent Emmy reaction interview for Extra. Will this work? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rhl37Ir0U3g&feature=related

See, he even makes opening a champagne bottle, pouring two glasses and making a toast graceful, perfect and effortless. I guess I am smitten, after all.

Poeia- 07-24-2010

I missed that one. Thanks Beckston. (Love the fake grimace as he effortlessly pulls out the cork -- he has to pretend he's an ordinary mortal.) I guess I am smitten, after all. Was there every any doubt?

Well, not really. ;-)

Per reports coming in from Comic Con, Hugh will be on the new season of "The Simpsons". (ot: for those interested, other guests will include cheech and chong, werner herzog, the cast of glee, flight of the conchords, jon hamm, paul rudd, martha stewart and daniel radcliffe.)

Nice picture. I'm sure its possible to get rid of the "extra" using Photoshop, but I don't know how to do it. Anybody?

The news has already made the rounds, I think, but here's a blurb about HL's upcoming Blues album with a quote from him. "I am drunk with excitement at this opportunity. "I know the history of actors making music is a chequered one, but I promise no one will get hurt. I am particularly thrilled to be working with Joe Henry, who has produced some of my favourite records of all time, and I can't wait to get started."

Namaste- 07-25-2010

Joe Henry is a great producer, so that's obviously great news. (I wonder if the BBC doc that HL was working on had any carryover. Don't know if he hooked up with Joe Henry at all during that, but he was definitely in Henry's area.) Joe Henry produced Solomon Burke's "Don't Give Up On Me," which included the song "None of Us Are Free," which appeared in the end montage of the episode "Spin."

I'm wondering how recent the quote is (I know the PR just came out...) - seems like they could have recorded a bit of material while Hugh was traveling around earlier & there's not a lot of summer left, especially when he's also filming House. I would not be at all surprised to see the BBC documentary air the same week the CD is released in the UK :)

This is such great news for Hugh. A dream come true.

I'll probably set up a museum or something, when I get older...
