According to the blurb under the video, it says they were filming Hugh's BBC Documentary about blues in the south traveling through cities. Like Stephen traveling through the states in his taxi, Hugh is traveling in the south for the blues. He definitely has to stop in New Orleans. I can't wait to see the end product.
Is Google Earth crazy, or is Luckenbach simply a wide place in the road?

If I remember correctly, it's a post office, a couple of bars and that's it. That's the whole damn thing.
Oh, no, wait, there's a parking meter.

Nice article/interview in the LA Times.

Although the article refers to the season finale, by the way, there are no actual spoilers. (Other than noting that he's good in it.) That's not a spoiler is it? It's more of a truthism.

Well, I guess we got an explanation for why he's not in this season as much - the exhausting nature of the role. But I'm a little bummed he said Season 6 is the best yet, because I completely disagree. But he's always been a great cheerleader for the show. Personally, I enjoyed Seasons 1-4 more. Season 6 has been so uneven, I've actually missed several episodes and not really cared.

I'm wondering if he was talking about Kiefer Sutherland as the actor that was so exhausted, he would drive 100mph to get home and didn't care if he got home or not. I think his schedule is as grueling as Hugh's is.
Sadly Season 6 wouldn't rank up there as far as my favorite season. For me, it was one of the weaker ones and not just because of lack of Cuddy or Huddy. Other than "Broken" & "Baggage" & "Tyrant", none of the other episodes compelled me to watch it again. Having said that, it is still one of the best shows on TV and I never miss an episode.
It is very endearing how protective of the show Hugh is and of the showrunners and his fellow castmates & crew. No doubt they feel the same way about him.

That's the wonderful thing about opinions. Everyone -- even HL -- is allowed to have ones that differ from other people's opinions.

According to Twitter, Hugh was seen eating gumbo tonight at Coop's in New Orleans. That's across the street from my son's apartment. I live across Lake Pontchartrain, but if only I had known...
He was also seen on Canal St.
There is a big Gulf Aid benefit concert Sunday...lots of big names. He probably would not be able to stay that long...I bet they have a tight schedule all worked out.

According to the Austin Statesman he's driving a 66 Galaxy convertible. Love it. I hope he's at the concert, he'd be a great addition and it would be an awesome extra for his documentary. *wants to see Hugh perform with NOLA folks*

He probably won't be able to stay long enough to make the concert, but that would be so phenomenal if he could: Dr. John, Jon Cleary, Allen Toussaint, etc. I'm guessing the Mississippi Delta would have to be his next stop on the blues tour.
Poeia- 05-14-2010
That would be 3 days in New Orleans. They might have factored that into the schedule from the start.
iamdaffodils- 05-14-2010
I hope so. From reports though it sounds like he's been here since at least Wednesday. The concert is Sunday and I don't think it was even announced until Monday.
