So many threads - so little time to keep up with them all!

DrSpaceman- 11-18-2007

Thanks for posting it here, too, I didn't see it either!

According to this press release, The World of Peter Rabbit and Friends is getting a new North American DVD release 12 Feb 2008 (there was an equivalent UK release last year, I think). Hugh is the voice of Johnny Town-Mouse in 1 of the 9 episodes. If you have small children, this series is well worth a look (even if you weren't a Hugh Laurie fan). The animation is stunning and if you watch much PBS, you'll hear a lot of voices you recognize. I have a sample here.

Now ok...sometimes Hugh does look a little haggard...remember that movie premiere last year when we all kinda made fun of him for looking like he pretty much had it? Actually, in the last episode 'Ugly' I thought he looked remarkably fresh. Although, I think he's actually lost weight. He looked even thinner than usual. He is thin. I'm kind of jealous. I wanna be all svelte and whatnot. 8) I don't think he looks more haggard. Even if I un- bias myself; I think he still looks good. I agree he looks fresh lately. Re: Jeeves and Wooster . . . if you love Hugh you'll enjoy it. I also love watching Mr. Fry. He's just so lovely and smooth. Love his voice. I never bought the series, I just watch them on youtube. but I guess they'd be a lot more enjoyable on DVD. I get sick of having to get up and click the next video.

News from the International Emmys: :D British comedian Stephen Fry took home the Emmy for best documentary for "Stephen Fry — The Secret Life of the Manic Depressive" about his own and other people's experiences living with bipolar disorder. "This documentary was very important to me ... Manic depression is a pandemic chronic condition," said Fry. "We need to understand much more about it and most of all we need to address the urgent problem of the stigma." :D YEA, STEPHEN!!!!:D edited because I got too excited, smilied over everything and did it in blue. Sorry.

Yea Stephen indeed! Picture

DrSpaceman- 11-20-2007

Well deserved, too. It was a very good documentary.

Moderator Note: While we are all pleased about Stephen Fry's recent award, and are just as ecstatic as the rest of you, we do ask that colored fonts and smileys be limited. We'd rather see the board taken over by the intelligent posts you are all capable of rather than a rainbow of colors that is hard to read.

New "blessay" posted at Stephen's blog. It's a nice, juicy, long one. Stephen comes to Al Gore's defense! And battles a fossil fuels manager! And claims that he went down in a mine! (Hopefully before the argument with the fossil fuels guy.) Would hate for there to be an "accidental" cave in. And I'm curious to know which presidential candidate he followed around for the day.

I haven't read the blog yet (thanks for the heads up because I've been in my own little world this week), but I do know that he was present at a Mit Romney speech and did a little schmoozing afterwards, so that's a possibility.

Kerry- 11-20-2007

Was he in MA (for Romney)? If so, it sucks that I didn't see him in Boston!

olivia720- 11-21-2007

I'm glad to hear about Stephen as well. And he looks like he's also winning the fat battle. He looks like he lost weight in his pic. In an older post he wrote about his vices/cravings. I miss Hugh and would like to see some new pics of him turn up. Too bad I'm not a big LE fan cause I see new pics of her every other day.

Tanathir- 11-21-2007

Hi everyone! Brand-spanking new to this forum here, though I've read through most of the past pages about his Hughness. I agree that we really would like to see some new pics of Hugh, and not just House promos or paparazzi pics. How the man can get hotter with each passing year I don't know, but I'm glad he does.

olivia720- 11-21-2007

So nice to have you Tanathir . . . you'll find a nice Hugh home here :) I was just reading Stephen's new post, and I only had to look up three words. Am I getting smarter?? (no he just didn't use that many big words) Ok I'm done reading it now; he did use several more big words. I just gave up looking them up.
