Excerpt from an interview with Hugh in a German TV magazine (not exact quotes, since it's been translated twice). Interviewer: With whom would you like get into the boxing ring? Hugh:Little children. That would heighten my chances of winning considerably. They should be five years of age at the most. Interviewer: What is happening with your second novel after "The Gun Seller", which you announced some time ago? Hugh: It's in the works. I'd like to use this opportunity to publicly apologize to my publisher for the delay. The new novel has been put on hold . Maybe I should just start the third book. Just thought this would be interesting enough to post here directly :D

(Hugh Laurie, looking increasingly haggard) Now ok...sometimes Hugh does look a little haggard...remember that movie premiere last year when we all kinda made fun of him for looking like he pretty much had it? But I don't think Hugh as House or Hugh as Hugh has looked all that haggard lately so I thought that was kinda weird for them to throw that in there. In context that paragraph says how House is always the focus of the show so they maybe just threw that in there to help make their point...but still...I don't think he looks all that rough lately. Is he looking beat to any of you guys?? You see that sort of thing in reviews all the time. They seem to forget that, while time is not a fixed construct, what it does to our bodies is. What he actually looks is... a few years older.

*pssst* Poeia, people don't age in Hollywood. They've magically overcome the effects of time.

Hey guys...is Hugh actually in the new Sexiest Men People magazine?! Nope. Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope. Well, sort of. There's a picture of him and Kal in a review of the show. Beyond that, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no. Ok amysusanne...so just to make sure...he's NOT in the sexiest man part of the magazine?? Cause I'm still confused... What he actually looks is... a few years older. Well I guess that's pretty fair to say...I don't really think he looks all that much older to be honest...but I agree with you that they might not be thinking about the fact that the guy ages like the rest of us do!

Well I guess that's pretty fair to say...I don't really think he looks all that much older to be honest...but I agree with you that they might not be thinking about the fact that the guy ages like the rest of us do! He doesn't look ancient or anything (aside from the fact that he's younger than I am). But if you look at a S1 episode (other than Detox which would be cheating) then at a current one, his beard is a little grayer and he's got a few more wrinkles. Still definitely drool-worthy. Maybe even more so.

Now ok...sometimes Hugh does look a little haggard...remember that movie premiere last year when we all kinda made fun of him for looking like he pretty much had it? Anyone have a link for this? I didn't hang around the actor threads last year, and now I wish I did. Is it just me, or is the beard a lot more pronounced this season? Looking at S1, it's not nearly as prominent as it is now. Or so I think.

DrSpaceman- 11-17-2007

Does anyone know where I could watch Hugh on Inside the Actor's Studio? The only version on the Tube is dubbed in Spanish and marykir doesn't have it on her site.

misere- 11-17-2007

DrSpaceman, try here.

Poeia- 11-17-2007

Here's some of it. A few other pieces of it are here.

DrSpaceman- 11-17-2007

misere, those clips no longer work. Thanks, P, I saw those clips last night but wanted to see the rest of the interview.

marykir- 11-17-2007

For those in the US, tv-now.com says that Bravo will show Hugh's episode Dec. 1st.

Now ok...sometimes Hugh does look a little haggard...remember that movie premiere last year when we all kinda made fun of him for looking like he pretty much had it? Actually, in the last episode 'Ugly' I thought he looked remarkably fresh. Although, I think he's actually lost weight. He looked even thinner than usual.

Hugh on the picket line
Don't know exactly what day this was ( Day 8 of the strike), but there's our guy out there marching along with David Shore and Lisa Edelstein - he/they come into the picture about 1:20 into the clip. He looks good - as usual. www.youtube.com/watch?v=74_hzeG1BTo oh - duh! Sorry. Now I discover that this link was posted a few days ago over on the strike thread -- where I obviously missed it. I'll leave it as maybe some of you did too.

Boffle- 11-18-2007

Thanks, Sarah, for posting the link. Actually we've got a very active strike thread here. This clip was posted and discussed there earlier. Yeah, he does look good :-): he and LIsa look like they're in costume so maybe this was on a break...

Boudleaux- 11-18-2007

That explains a lot of things. A strike thread. I guess I should learn to look around the board a bit more rather than visiting the same ole threads, huh. :)
