Yep, ITA. It's The Gun Seller. So there is some good taste there. ;-)

I just feel compelled to say something on this thread to bring it back to the top!
No one has said anything here since Wednesday.
Hugh, Hugh, I miss you.

It is awfully quiet around here, isn't it? I just hope they settle the strike soon or it may get deadly quiet.
I was wondering if the strike goes on how it would affect the movie HL is apparently scheduled to make during the next hiatus, The Galton Case I think it's called. Depending on how things go, he might have more time to work on it, or none at all.

I know, things have been so quiet. I was like, dayum, somebody post! I don't care if its about what kind of soup he orders or what kind of shoelaces he buys!!
(lobster bisque and waxed cordohyde are my guesses) :)
Boffle- 11-17-2007
This morning I watched the very, very beginning of Jeeves and Wooster, from a befuddled Bertie being sentenced in the dock to his going home in a cab, flopping onto the bed, hiding the alarm clock, answering the door, Jeeves coming in right past him and then mixing his magic concoction, Wooster downing the elisian elixir in a single gulp, evoking a most animated and muscular reaction sequence to Wooster saying his first words in the series, to wit: "I say!" and going from a sodden and sleepified mess of a mess into the bright, blue-eyed and bedazzling Bertie Wooster in full form and velvety voice, only to bloom further in the next scene into a rose-sniffing, 47-Ginger-Headed-Sailors-singing, walking-cane-twirling, lanky, lovely, chestnut-haired, beautifully tailored gem of a gentle gentleman. And I loved it. And watched it again when I came home. And there you have it.

I, on the other hand, watched Rose Bed Memoirs and laughed in the most inappropriate manner when Wagner fans were compared to skin head buggerers. And quite possible made Asynca spontaneously combust by describing his delivery of 'sensitive material' by means of his trousers. And I should mention that I was drunk at the time. I need to watch again…I hereby declare today Spooks Marathon Day. Care to join me?
MaryIsobel- 11-17-2007
Would that I could, Silja!!!!!!
And surely he doesn't eat lobster bisque every day...I want to know!

boffle, I'm ashamed to admit how many times I've watched the very beginning of "Jeeves and Wooster." It's just under seven minutes before Bertie speaks to Jeeves for the first time, and what goes on during those minutes is just so wonderfully funny.

To be fair, he does gurgle a bit (which exponentially increases the funny).

I don't think J&W has ever been shown in Holland, but I saw a really nice offer on Amazon UK for it. Should I buy myself a nice Christmas gift? (I have House sea. 3 box pre-ordered)

Do the following words make you giggle:
Toodlepip
What ho!
Eulalie
If yes, then buy. If not, then buy and learn
ETA: Yes Poeia, but I don't have a Jeeves to pass me notes :D
Well, I read some of the Woodhouse books some 20 years ago, so I kind of know what to expect.
I liked them then, (even when translated in Dutch) but I was 15 at the time, and my sense of humo(u)r has changed a bit. I believe I must still have some of the books in the attic, but since it would mean risking my life, I won't try to retrieve them.
Anyhow, throwing in HL can't really make it worse, can it? OK, I'll do it! Where's that creditcard?
(And thanks for the links, made the decision even easier, Minnie the Moocher alone would be reason enough!)

I gotta rewatch J&W now...I've seen it a million times but whenever that first part of episode 1 is even mentioned I have to watch it again. Love it.
Hey guys...is Hugh actually in the new Sexiest Men People magazine? I don't think I'm gonna make it to Target or a bookstore this weekend to run and check it out for myself which is why I'm being super lazy and asking...if he is in it then yay! I'll try to run out on Monday and pick it up but if not there's no pressure to do that so also yay!
Everybody's probably seen this article by now about the medicine in medical shows...I just thought I'd bring it up here cause they chose to refer to Hugh as (Hugh Laurie, looking increasingly haggard) Now ok...sometimes Hugh does look a little haggard...remember that movie premiere last year when we all kinda made fun of him for looking like he pretty much had it? But I don't think Hugh as House or Hugh as Hugh has looked all that haggard lately so I thought that was kinda weird for them to throw that in there. In context that paragraph says how House is always the focus of the show so they maybe just threw that in there to help make their point...but still...I don't think he looks all that rough lately. Is he looking beat to any of you guys??

Nope. Nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope, nope.
Well, sort of. There's a picture of him and Kal in a review of the show.
Beyond that, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no.
:-)

I consider that morning and the pictures that resulted from it to be Hugh's Christmas gift to me last year. So, so, so much joy came out of mocking him. With love, of course.

No, I don't get it either. House hasn't looked particularly haggard. *Especially* when you consider previous seasons where he's been in a hospital bed suffering from the infarction, detoxing voluntarily, detoxing involuntarily, fake detoxing, during Tritter, post-Stacy, etc., etc., etc. House has looked his fair share of "haggard", but this season he looks relatively calm and relaxed and pretty normal.
