Cute blog entry by someone vacationing in LA who just happened upon that Coen brothers film premiere that HL attended. Just a mention of seeing Hugh: So anyway, we waited a long time, but finally, they came! Numerous tinted-window SUVs arrived and ejected their celebrity passengers a mere few feet away from us. Who did I see? - Tommy Lee Jones - Hugh Laurie (An unexpected, late arrival, prompting much swoony screaming all around me.) http://clashinghats.blogspot.com/2007/11/my-hollywood-adventure.html

House Simpson is on YouTube here. ITA with the concept of that Simpsons opening. Hate all those stupid ads for shows while you're watching a show. As if ads weren't annoying enough! Thanks for posting that, DOB! I love Hugh accounts, no matter how brief!

- Hugh Laurie (An unexpected, late arrival, prompting much swoony screaming all around me.) He looked quite happy in the pics from the premiere. Surprising if there was "much swoony screaming." I guess he's beginning to figure out how to ignore it.

Or he was just completely oblivious to it. Her story was cute. I've never done anything like that, but I always thought that I should just to see what it was like. I'm sure it's a little surreal. I've never sat in the stands at an awards show either and kind of think that would be an interesting experience too.

Oh HELLS Yeah . . . new Hugh pics. Yay! Sexy little thing he is! He looks like he's happy, like he as a twinkle in his eye. Love to see that. Maybe he's thinking: "yay! writers strike! I get to go home soon!" (btw, how much longer are we going to have new House eps??) Yeah that jacket is a bit large on him. Where????

MaryIsobel go back about 2 or 3 pages, Marykir posted a link on Nov 5 to Getty Images with photos from HL at the premier of No Country for Old Men

Does anyone else think that part of the reason Hugh may have headed out to this premire was to dismiss the articles that tried to link depression with why he headed back to England?

Does anyone else think that part of the reason Hugh may have headed out to this premire was to dismis the aricles that tried to link depression with why he headed back to England? No, I really don't. He seems to like movies and going to premieres in general, so I don't think there's anything suspicious about the timing. Who wouldn't want to go to the Coen Brothers premiere?

Who wouldn't want to go to the Coen Brothers premiere?I'm not saying there weren’t other reasons. He may have some connection even beyond liking the Coens. I just don't recall him attending that many premieres over the last few years and thought that with this one coming on the heals of his return he may have been trying to show himself so everyone could see that those press stories were off the mark and that he is in fact okay. Could just be me.

just don't recall him attending that many premieres over the last few years Past couple of years, not really "few". I know that's an argument of semantics, but prior to "House" he attended plenty of film and theatre premieres. Once "House" started up, obviously, he wasn't exactly left with a load of free time. Now when we see him at events they're generally related to the show. Given that, especially over the last few months, he attends plenty of those, I don't think it's too much of a leap to assume that if he didn't have work committments he might be more apt to show up at other premieres. We just make more note of his attendance over the weekend because we just read tabloid stories. When he showed up, at random, at the "Unaccompanied Minors" premiere we all made jokes about it and mocked him mercilessly, but I don't think we found anything strange about it. It's all context wrt what we think we know. He's a documented fan of the Coens. If he just wanted a photo op he could have gone to see that Vince Vaughn movie earlier in the afternoon, gotten himself a little face time in a happy, colorful atmosphere and gone to bed early.
