I just can't bring myself to see Hugh being nuked
It's hilarious, you can safely watch it (I think...)!

You know, at first glance I thought this said "naked" not "nuked." And then I was wondering what the problem was.

Thanks for making me giggle helplessly, Bailey!

As I posted a link to a photo of Hugh's bare bottom at that other place (which strangely received not a single comment and made me feel a little weird), I very much appreciate the beauty that is Hugh.
On a different note, I wondered if Hugh would be getting a producer credit in the near future. That seems to be a trend when actors are on a hit show for any length of time. Does anyone know what brings it about? His agent going to a new agency?

I don't know. I noticed that they gave both Boreanaz and Deschanel producer credits on Bones. On the other side, I don't believe that Lauren Graham ever got any on Gilmore Girls. I have no idea about the how's and why's so basically this post is pointless lol.
I bet it's nice to have some power, like Mark Harmon who managed to get one of the creators/producers of NCIS to leave.

Lauren did get a producer credit.
It's an incentive. I'm not sure that they're just going to give Hugh one, but if "House" continues to thrive and he reaches a point where renegotiation is necessary/beneficial, I could see him being offered a producer credit easily. I'm just not sure how likely it is that "House" will continue to be as hot as it is. Then again, I'm surprised each week, given how ratings are dropping for everything. to see how well "House" is doing. Since FOX has never really had a scripted show this big, I have no reference base. {g}

I think you really have to now, Houserocket; you can't just say something like that and walk away. You gotta post it.

That 70s show was that big at its height which wasn't that long. Although I'm not sure it was in the top 5 shows so perhaps I'm re-writing history.
But the show House is what FOX does really really well. It has a harder time launching shows like "back to you" or whatever that brad garrett show is.

That's because House is good and those shows suck horribly.

Wasn't X-files even bigger, and 24 as big?

amysusanne I'm not challenging you cause obviously I have NO idea how these things work...just a question though. What do you mean about a producer credit being an incentive? Like say they offered one to Boreanaz and Deschanel if Bones got picked picked up for a third season...it did so they got one? Is tbat what you mean (just as an example...I have no clue if it actually works anything like that)? The only reason I'm asking is cause I would think House has achieved the kind of success it needs to in order for Hugh to have earned one by now...I kinda don't understand how he's not a producer...unless he turned it down cause he doesn't want to wear any more hats than lead actor.

I don't dispute that Fox has had success. A lot of it. They just haven't had something this big wrt ratings that wasn't "American Idol".

I'll give you "Til Death" because that's just a waste of everyone involved, but "Back to You" is a surprisingly well done show. I don't blame Fox for wanting to try to reinvigorate the traditional sitcom. If you give people nothing but the single camera shows they're going to eventually cry "stale!" and want something different, even if that something different is what was the norm a few years ago.

No, not really. They were very successful and both did/do/did very well, but "House" is the most successful scripted show, ratings wise, that Fox has ever had. 24 is a solid Top 30 show. The XF cracked the top ten, but it took them several years and they fell back down to the higher end of the top 20 quickly after that. I don't think they lived in that neighborhood for very long at all. The XF was huge, but it was more cultural phenomenon than Nielsen phenomenon.
I'm not disparaging either show. At all. Neither of those are anything to sneeze at. My distinction is that from the pilot to, pretty much now (allowing for the fact that all shows are down a bit), "House" keeps growing in far greater strides than anything else the network has had. I could be wrong and I'm perfectly prepared to be, but I don't believe that any scripted show that young had ever hit that high by the end of their first season and I don't think they ever had a scripted show hit number one prior to "House". It was a quick climb and it's sticking instead of fluctuating. That's impressive to me and my first instinct with this network is *always* that they're going to do something to fuck it up.

I mean that it's generally a negotiated title when it's given to someone that's not actually a producer.
The only reason I'm asking is cause I would think House has achieved the kind of success it needs to in order for Hugh to have earned one by now...I kinda don't understand how he's not a producer...unless he turned it down cause he doesn't want to wear any more hats than lead actor.
Honestly, it's not like he'd have to do anything other than be Hugh Laurie and keep showing up for work until the network felt the need to cancel the show. Lauren Graham certainly didn't. And I don't think David and Emily are sticking around after hours to polish scripts. It's a vanity title for a lot of people. Not *all*, but (imo) most. Most stars of shows *don't* get producer credits. It seems that this is a more recent turn of events, actors getting random producer credits when they renegotiate. It's a pay raise. With all due respect to Hugh, he deserves a Huge paycheck for carrying a hit show the way he does, but he doesn't really deserve random titles being thrown at him just because.
edited to clean something up.

Oh HELLS Yeah . . . new Hugh pics. Yay! :)
Sexy little thing he is!
He looks like he's happy, like he as a twinkle in his eye. Love to see that. Maybe he's thinking: "yay! writers strike! I get to go home soon!"
(btw, how much longer are we going to have new House eps??)
Yeah that jacket is a bit large on him.

Isn't giving an actor a producer credit a way of giving them more money? I think I remember reading that William Petersen of CSI was given a producer credit initially and then an executive producer credit to increase his salary and induce him to stay on past his stated 5 year goal. A ploy that in his case seems to have worked.
