I think this deserves a 2nd post... in the UK (and possibly elsewhere, but not the US), ESPN Classic is showing The Boat Race 1980, Monday March 30th at 6:30pm. Episode description from digiguide:Another strong Oxford crew, featuring future gold medallist Chris Mahoney, took to the Thames to face Cambridge and their own future star: Hugh Laurie.
If anyone can record this, please PM me. I would like to arrange to get a copy.
I'm flicking frantically though my TV but that seems to be the one dratted sports channel I don't have. :(
This may be of interest as Ran Laurie was in the London 1948 Olympics. I can't tell when this is being shown, but maybe sharper eyes will be able to tell:

Hope someone knows someone who can record this. That would be awesome!
I have never even heard of ESPN Classic.
*looks it up* Sky, nope, sorry, don't have. :(
I've got ESPN Classic, so unless Marykir get's a better offer, I can provide the goods
Excellent! (I hope it's worth it :))
<-----There's a sort of a spoffle in my new avatar and a bit of Boffle too (the Laurie bit). Hee! (Most of you know the spoffle story. For anyone that doesn't, it's the name Hugh spontaneously made up for the mic guard, though I think the one he named was the foam cover sort.)
Oh and yay for ermoo! Looking forward to the 1980 boat race!
I didn't even know i had that channel
If all else fails i can do a VHS copy, my standalone DVD player hasn't got record facilities.
hiyacinth.
Hugh is scheduled to be on Regis & Kelly on March 30th, God help him.

About half the cast of MvA is on Regis & Kelly in the next couple of weeks!
Heh, they are all pimping this thing, aren't they?
God help him.
Eh. Regis & Kelly is painful for fans because they are so bad at interviewing, but from the standpoint of the guests, I'd assume it's just boring.
Regis: My, you're a tall one, aren't you?
Hugh: Yes
Kelly: You seem very nice. You're so mean on House.
Hugh: *says something mildly amusing about acting*
Regis: And now you're playing a cockroach.
Hugh: *gets in a few words about the movie*
Regis or Kelly: Did you get to work with Reese Witherspoon?
Hugh: *starts to answer but they interrupt him to say that it's time for a commercial and they'll be right back with the next guest.*
He is appearing on 2 shows where he looked very uncomfortable in the past. He must be required to do this for promotion of being a cockroach. Last time, he was on R&K, I don't think they had ever watched "House" and Letterman made a joke about his dad that I don't think went over to well. So all in all, Hugh have fun.
I wonder if he's taping the Regis and Kelly thing while he's in NY for Letterman. Seems like bad scheduling for him to have to go back and forth twice with House still in production. Unless he's got other PR work for MVA that would keep him in NY for a week.
