cindylouwho, I don't think it's lame at all, as long as, like others said, it's an appreciation for what he does and not a "sorry about the family emergency!" thing, which he'd probably find mortifying. Just a general goodwill thing, though, he'd probably appreciate and think was connected to Christmas. But may I suggest that what he'd probably appreciate more than a quilt/postcards/other trinkets would be donations to Save the Children in his name?

Must agree with DrSpaceman's excellent suggestion regarding donations to Save The Children rather than gifts. The last thing a guy who makes $7 million a year probably needs or wants is more stuff.

Do you mean the Margarita Pracatan on Clive James clip? Eep  That clip is like krypton for me. I just roll on the floor, defenceless, hoping for the laughter to stop...at some point...hours later. Must. Learn. Not. To. Click. On. The. Margarita. Pracatan. Clip.

On people.com Hugh is included in the 100 Sexy Men in 1 Minute video...looks like he'll be making People's list this year!

Namaste- 11-01-2007

Also backing the excellent suggestion from DrSpaceman. There are also the options of donations to groups backed by the show as well.

The Save the Children donation idea does sound like a winner. I'm sure you can donate in his name, and I'll bet that kind of thing would please Hugh, that he has raised folk's awareness of that charity. Also, there's no need to connect it with the 'emergency'. Christmas is coming.

DrSpaceman- 11-01-2007

Yes, you can donate in someone's name if you donate $25 or more. They have the form set up really easily on their site - I was just on the other day because I've decided to make some donations for Christmas (in relatives' names). You pay and then they'll send the acknowledgement card to the address you give. I've got to give thanks to Hugh for the idea as well, as I was looking for a suitable charity for Christmas. I happened to get to looking at the Save the Children website because of a Band from TV link and decided on that one because of their excellent financial disclosures.

Nah, I'm just gonna send dirty pics of myself instead of any save the children nonsense! I know what he wants! ;) That was a cute clip; Hugh laughing is the prettiest sight. Thats why I love the blooper reel when he's laughing explosively :P

I haven't Margarita for yonks - if ever there was a woman who should not be let near an electric keyboard. But I agree - the man makes over 300 thousand an episode, donate to charity - or donate naughty pics of yourself to charity. And you'd be surprised. I know of a very big name star who ended up driving a fan home after a play he was in. And while I think the chances of ending up on the back of Hugh's Harley are probably nil, sometimes a nice word can be reassuring. But also - think of it this way - maybe one of the kids is with kids or getting married or something nice?

Boffle- 11-02-2007

And while I think the chances of ending up on the back of Hugh's Harley are probably nil, Absolutely nil. Harley! Hugh rides a Triumph Bonnevile. (It's Craig who has the Harley.) ;-) But yeah, likely not going to be offering me a ride (though he's the only person i would ride on a motorcycle with)...but a nice gift to save the children in his name, what a nice fandom he has. Also, maybe auction or raffle off the quilt and give the proceeds to save the children? you get a happy fan (who wins something they would treasure) and happy kids (food! yay!) and happy hugh (at least potentially). All good things.

I also heard he has a completely impractical bright orange porche too. I still love Steven's taxi cab - it has a certain allure.

And you'd be surprised. I know of a very big name star who ended up driving a fan home after a play he was in. DIY - Surprise me!!!!!!!! Please!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I also heard he has a completely impractical bright orange porche too. I read that too, but then more recently I read that he was driving some big, old SUV which I suppose offers a heck of a lot more privacy when he wants it. I hope he didn't have to give up his Porsche because too many fans recognized it.

olivia720- 11-02-2007

Or maybe he wanted something bigger to haul stuff around. Like his fam and whatnot. Yeah, DIY, tell us! I needs some entertainment. I wonder if he wears his Orange cap while driving his Orange porche.
