The LA Times Show Blogger took on House again for "Games." (For the record, they've got Olivia Wilde's name wrong, misspelled Foreman's name and assumed that Jennifer Morrison is now dyeing her hair blonde, rather than the brunette being the dyed version.)

I'm looking for backing to fund my play wherein everyone reenacts the dumbest message board/livejournal flamewars ever. I think there's a market for that.
I think you should pitch that to E!. It would fit nicely between The Soup and whatever reality crap-fest usually follows.

I'll try to get a meeting with Ryan Seacrest...if he can tear himself away from kissing the Kardashians' asses. But, hey...since he's all excited about how much original programming they have during the strike maybe now's my time to woo him!! Take that, WGA! Seacrest thumbs his nose at you!!
Wait...what were we talking about?
fffaw- 11-28-2007
Heck, in my mind, I'm already casting some of the best House fandom flame wars. :-)
Pitch on, amysusanne!

Oh wow, I can just see hopegeeksout vs the CAPSLOCKERS!
Starring: Lindsay Lohan as hopegeeksout!
With: The Entire Cast of Upright Citizens Brigade as the CAPSLOCKERS!
And since I love being sorta kinda on topic sometimes-I highly recommend reading Alan Sepinwall's blog on a regular basis. Due to what I can only assume to be Divine Intervention the comments are often as enjoyable and readable as his bloggings.

I think I'll pass on investing in the "Flamewar Chronicles" - Usenet vet, and those people played with napalm! :tank:
I also rather dislike KJ for several reasons, including this most recent lack of tact and good judgment. Unlike the inimitable Poeia, the dexterous doyenne of diplomacy - check your PMs, Poeia...
Hate to rock the boat, but getting back on topic:
As a word-nerd, I look forward to sasmom's well-written and insightful articles. However, since the preference here appears to be for "commercial" material...
From Media Life Magazine, an estimated time frame for the rest of this TV season.
So what if the strike ended tomorrow?
ETA: Also posted in the strike topic...

I miss usenet. The overly strict, borderline creepy moderation of certain sites that shall remain nameless often make me long for the unmoderated (for the most part) semi-anarchy of usenet.

Usenet was a strange place for me. I stumbled upon it accidently...well, I went looking for it and eventually found it but was never sure how to get back to the places I wanted to revisit and never really understood the lay out. Red Queens and Mad Hatters...............Off with their heads!

Actually, the self-moderated chaos is what led to some of the most spectacular flamewars in Net history - fellow users always had the blowtorch at the ready! LOL! I remember some dillies around the time of "Quantum Leap".
Yes, houserocket7, it did take a certain amount of skill just to navigate - no ads, no pop-ups, no links, no pretty pictures or user-friendly GUIs, youngsters. Just the black screen, blinking cursor and no-holds-barred, no-pity-for-nubes, free-for-all interaction.
::sigh:: Although I do favor polite, I miss it as well. (Insert silly, Usenet-despised emoticon of your choice.)

house_daily has two promotional shots of the new team.
Ha! They put tape over 13's name on her ID tag.
Silja- 11-29-2007
Heh. I'm amazed that they managed to make Olivia Wilde look as sexy as a sack of turnips.

I like how on Thirteen's name tag her real name has one of those white labels over it and 13 written on it. Cute.

Never hung out there, but rec.arts.tv and the two warring gossip groups were fun. I miss trolls that were obvious trolls. I miss the fucked up people like catlovvr. Or catlovvvr. Or however many v's were in his/her name. Those sorts of trolls were like having your very own obnoxious neighbor who popped in, everyone rolled their eyes and said "hi catlovvvr", they said whatever obnoxious thing they had to say and they went away for a week. And there was that phenomenon that doesn't seem to exist on message boards as much (probably because of avatars and big graphics) where the sock puppets would forget to log out of one name and into another and would eventually give themselves away with their lack of attention to the little detail of who they were supposed to be. That was always fun.
The last usent fandom I was involved in was the one for "The West Wing", but I imagine that "House" on usenet would be a lot different from "House" on TWOP or message boards or yahoogroups. I did check in to ratv back when the show first started and it was met with mostly favorable comments, so at least out of the gate it wasn't instantly on anyone's "hate list". If it was ten years ago it probably would have warranted it's own group.
Incidentally, usenet (or one specific group) was the only place that I ever stormed off in a huff. I am not proud of this, but it's out there.

I like the look they went for with all of them in the shot of the three alone, but I have a major hate for what OW is wearing. I don't know why. It's not that I think it looks bad on her or that those look bad on anyone, for some reason I just don't like them.

I think it was three "v"s; a multiplicity anyway. And yeah, the accidental dual personalities were very funny!

Silja, you may have come home beat last night, but you're definitely on your game now - 2nd LOL today.
Actually, I rather like that 13 is nonchalant about being attractive. Cameron may have seen her beauty as a fatal gift, but she certainly never played it down. 13 can look downright frumpy, but not, I think, to hide her appeal. I get the vibe that it's just not that important to her (much like House's lack of interest in his outfits - not his fault he's inherently cool). If this were not TV, she'd skip the make-up too, I'll wager.

My only experience with usenet groups was the Kids in the Hall group. I hung out there for years, but the main group was so tight that anyone who joined longer than a week after the group was formed never registered on their radar. There was a BNF who seemed to have hypnotized all of fandom and KITH with her ways. I didn't understand it.
Later, I learned that that was pretty much what fandom was about. That's when I started checking out books on hypnotism and mind control.
