ack! mine hasn't arrived yet and i've been getting worried about it because it was on the newstand yesterday when i was in B&N. stupid postal service. a couple of issues back, "house" was on their bitch list which, for those not familiar with the magazine, is a good thing. eta: lisa is also featured in the new issue of LA confidential. it's the same issue that has the page on katie jacobs. maybe it's been mentioned somewhere that lisa was also in there, but i didn't know until i flipped through it yesterday. i didn't buy it, though, so no scans. i'm sure it'll show up online. also, there's a segment on e! news weekend (it was also on one of the weekday showings) about how actors got the news about their emmy nom. they play a clip of hugh's comment on the set. it's a slightly edited version of what we saw months ago. the cast surrounds him, but no one else speaks. i only watched the last half, so i'm not sure if this was included as well, but also on a weekday edition they did a short bit about the creative emmys and showed omar and jennifer. they present together. the 411 on tv guide channel has a segment on the emmys that mentions the show and hugh. there's also a bit on the pink party with a clip of jennifer arriving and then a little one sentence blurb from her. weirdly, even though the pink is still awful, it doesn't look quite as bad in motion as it does in still pictures.

The E! clip about actor's reactions to nominations was on their Vine video player the other day; I assume it's still there. The TV Guide party is co-hosted by Extra, so they might have some coverage of it Monday or Tuesday. On Friday's show, Greg Grunberg said Band from TV is playing *after* John Legend, rather than before as I have read elsewhere. That makes more sense, especially if Hugh, House, or Heroes win something and have to do publicity rounds.

Oooh, the BAFTA event looks good. Also don't forget, JS is guesting with TBFTV & is doing a showcase song with Teri Hatcher on vocals (I forget the song title, but its a country tune & he's going to be playing the fiddle), so I bet there's a lot of coverage of that. It's "Leave the Pieces" by The Wreckers. Awesome song, actually. :) It was a #1 on the Country charts in 2006, but I've been hearing it lately on the Pop stations too. ETA: I listened to it a couple of times on my ipod tonight and just thought I'd share that there's a very strong fiddle line in it. It starts primarily with the fiddle and it stays prominent throughout. But I'm curious--does anyone in the Band from TV play banjo? It's fairly prominent too.

new cast interviews
Someone has posted a number of interviews with HL and the cast (both continuing and new) on the other site that shall not be named, YT. Good stuff :)

saara_zaara- 09-16-2007

Birdwoman, we have them here - they are being discussed on the spoilers discussion thread if you're interested.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=r5S8OzuybWA Found this on yuotube, new aussie promo featuring JS & LE. Its a tiny clip, but looks to have been shot at the same time the new interviews were (its set in the interview classroom) but the thing that gets me is how different JS's accent is to his Chase one (& crossposting to the JS thread).

Apparently E! Online's Glam Cam has a slow pan up and down HL from last night. And if anyone knows how to tell Firefox that it may download the appropriate program, please PM me. I couldn't watch it. ETA: Never mind. I got it. All the men got three stars.

This is my favorite photo from last night, even though it isn't in great quality. We can see four of the cast in one shot, and I think it's adorable that LE brought her dad to the show (see the resemblance?).

Hibernia- 09-17-2007

Lovely photo, misere! LE's got her smile from her dad, that's so sweet!

Isn't that Daniel Cohen sitting next to Hugh?

misere- 09-17-2007

The NY Times published a review of Fox's new drama K-Ville which makes some great references to HL: The art of casting comedians in dramatic parts has been refined at Fox in recent years. The other networks should take notice. Hugh Laurie on “House,” Mary Lynn Rajskub on “24” and now Anthony Anderson on “K-Ville” (which starts tonight) don’t whisper their lines, or abuse their close-ups by laboriously narrowing their eyes and squaring their jaws. They’re not afraid of variety in their voices, and motility in their faces. These actors skip middle C altogether — staying away from that sustained note of sexy solemnity that’s supposed to stand for heroism. Sometimes, as ensemble-trained comedians, they even know how to work with others. Ripping into the monotone of bad dramas — to wake, wake, wake them up, as Mr. Laurie has done with “House,” and Mr. Chiklis with “The Shield” — is a kind of heroism we all can appreciate.

Isn't that Daniel Cohen sitting next to Hugh? Wait...what? Stephen Fry's partner Daniel Cohen? I thought it was an agent...but I've never seen DC so I guess it could be.

hugeegosorry- 09-17-2007

That was def. an agent. He looks straight out of central casting. Needed: One Guy who looks like an agent. Needs to look completely out of place in any creative realm and needs to suck the life force out of all those around him.

saara_zaara- 09-17-2007

I though he was a seat filler until that bit with Ellen - didn't the seat/person kinda disappear then?

euphrosyna- 09-17-2007

I've never seen DC either, but I pictured him differently, knowing Stephen's taste. He'd hardly be there without Stephen though, would he?
