Yup. That would be me. This piece and my Writers Guild Piece have both been syndicated to newspaper websites. Both pieces urge people to NOT download and to support the strike. sasmom, I love your work! Really appreciated the Byronic Hero piece... Illegal downloading does NOT only "stick it to The Suits" - it hurts every artist and artisan who has contributed to the work. And the Internet issue is really critical to the writers' futures and a huge part of what the strike is all about. Last Sunday's New York Times Op-Ed carried a insightful piece by Damon Lindelof ("Lost") called "Mourning TV". http://www.nytimes.com/2007/11/11/opinion/11lindelof.html?_r=4&oref=slogin&oref=slogin&oref=slogin&oref=slogin If it's already been cited here, please excuse me, but it is a pertinent read, IMO.

EW review of 407's episode.

That's what marykir said on her website, she has a link to the video. donkeykong, with the writers strike that picture of House gagged has a whole new meaning. Is that why you chose it? That's not my icon, that's boffles. BUT I LOOVE IT!! although whenever I see anyone gagged it freaks me out, must have something to do with Pulp Fiction. OMG I just realized my icon DOES have house gagged. Oh yes, it does take on new meaning, DUH, i'm totally stupid! Picketing has killed my brain cells (well the truck gas fumes/air pollution from millions of cars driving by have)

http://www.spiked-online.com/index.php?/site/article/4057/ "House" tie-in to school shooting in Finland. On a lighter note, megalomaniacal germs voiced by Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry... Additionally, Assemble directed the voice talent - the powerhouse duo of Hugh Laurie and Stephen Fry. "Honestly, there wasn't that much we had to do in the voice over session," laughs Assemble Co-Director/Co-Creative Director Asa Hammond. "These guys are such pros and so hilarious that we felt honored just to be the audience to their performance." http://www.spiked-online.com/index.php?/site/article/4057/ "House" tie-in to school shooting in Finland. It troubles me when media is used as an explanation for violent crime. It's my understanding that the boy was ostracised by his peers. Perhaps it would be more useful to look at how our children treat each other - or how we teach them to treat each other - than pointing fingers at media influences that, at the most, should be counted as inspirations for an already troubled mind.

" Perhaps it would be more useful to look at how our children treat each other - or how we teach them to treat each other - than pointing fingers at media influences that, at the most, should be counted as inspirations for an already troubled mind." Brilliant thought, Silja. Thanks for putting it forward.

http://www.ew.com/ew/article/0,,20161121,00.html Brief article on Season 4 with one suggested casting that would have been brilliant. CTB=Paris Geller (Liza Weil) It is funny how sometimes we can come to the same conclusion but for different reasons. Personally, I think Ken Tucker is being a bit generous with the B- but I think he rightly pointed out that by adopting the approach of bringing on a whole bunch of Cousin Olivers, TPTB guaranteed an uneven season. But, again, KT found the CIA episode amongst the season's best and I don't think I could agree on that one.

Article from the LA Times, "For doctor dramas, it's the medicine, stupid", gives this take on changes in current medical shows, including "House"- http://www.latimes.com/entertainment/news/tv/la-ca-hospital18nov18,1,29062.story?coll=la-entnews-tv&ctrack=1&cset=true It troubles me when media is used as an explanation for violent crime. ITA, silja. I've seen people allow their children to do the most outrageous, hurtful things without saying a word. I believe the problem starts long before a song, film, book or game "validates" violent behavior.

Isn't Hugh Laurie supposed to be in People? I haven't looked real closely, but I didn't see him. Maybe he's a headshot somewhere. ETA: Definitely not in there, unless they're counting the House review. What's up with that? Or am I just blind?

His ex-wife?!!! Gee, I missed that part. edited by GG to remove stray tag

There's an interview with Hugh in the latest TVdigital (German tv mag). I scanned and translated it. And even though some of Hugh's answers are recycled, the interview is not, which is a nice surprise. Go here. (No spoilers for anything that hasn't aired in the US already). Sorry about linking to my own journal, but at the moment I don't know any other way of making the scans and translation available to you guys.

amysusanne- 11-16-2007

His ex-wife?!!! Gee, I missed that part. And he/she (I didn't read the article, so I don't know who wrote it) isn't the first to make that assumption. It shows up in a review at least twice a season and I've never quite figured out how they managed to get that after, presumably, watching the show. ETA: Definitely not in there, unless they're counting the House review. If "they" is the magazine, I don't think they ever advertised Hugh as being in the issue at all. If "they" is fans, I think that the fandom jumped to the conclusion that he'd be included because he was in that little one minute video. The thing is, I'm pretty sure they did a similar (if not the same) video last year and Hugh was also included in that one without being a part of the actual list.

Children have always bullied other children, what I find disturbing is that they now consider murder an appropriate response. CTB=Paris Geller (Liza Weil) That would have been AMAZING.
