Poeia- 09-05-2007

There's a lovely clip of House playing the new guitar and snarking Cuddy on Fox's House page. I don't think it's particularly spoilerish, but it is from S4 (probably E1) ETA: saara_zaara, Ah, but I don't go to the spoiler thread (and you can't make me!!! ) I don't mind a few tidbits creeping into my consciousness via promos and the like, but I don't want any details about the episodes. So this was for the the spoiler avoiders who, like me, are not absolute spoilerphobes.

saara_zaara- 09-05-2007

Poeia, its being discussed on the spoilers thread, along with a new Ausiello spoiler which is very Ausiello-ish. But the guitar playing is absolute love!

About the House in iTunes thing, NBC just announced a deal with amazon Unbox. This is from the wsj (sorry can't link, its a paid subscription) The agreement with Unbox will offer certain returning NBC shows, including "Heroes," "The Office" and "30 Rock" for $1.99 an episode, the same price iTunes charges. Unbox also will bundle shows and offer discounts on full seasons, an option Apple wouldn't provide. Beginning Monday, viewers will be able to download the pilots of NBC's new shows from Unbox for free before their television premieres. It doesn't mention House which NBC produces (& House is conspicuously absent from Fox's free streaming service for Bones, 24 etc), but I would keep an eye on both iTunes & Unbox for who is going to offer the s4 season pass.

Do you have a link for this Unbox, I want to test drive it to see if overseas users can get this service.

hwshipper- 09-05-2007

Seconded. Not that overseas users can get House on iTunes either

hugeegosorry- 09-05-2007

THIRDED! I'm going to be overseas for a while this fall and don't want to miss out! Sure I can just TIVO it and wait until to my return months later, buuuuutttttt i've never been that patient.

http://www.amazon.com/b?ie=UTF8&node=16261631 is the link I have for Amazon Unbox. The NBC announcement went up this morning on the site; I haven't used this site (use iTunes) but downloads are supposedly TiVo-compatible. House is not listed as being available, but keep checking there & at iTunes for info.

Fox ad from the 9/20 issue of Rolling Stone: http://i215.photobucket.com/albums/cc201/Fawlty24/housepills.jpg Mod Edit Note: Hi everyone - Could you just link to pictures to avoid copyright infringement issues? (It's a gorgeous pic though, Fawlty, thanks for sharing the link) Thanks so much, fffaw

http://media.tv.ign.com/media/826/826958/vids_1.html New House promo for the premier on Sept 25 - completely non-spoilery, its call "Rehab" & is a set of refs to the vicodin issues.

Here we go! I put this: Another question altogether (maybe this thread isn't really the right place for it, but then surely one of our Friendly Mods will intervene), did any of you guys read that book "The medical science of House M.D." by Andrew Holtz? And if so, how did you like it? I just finished it today! in the "All things inexplicable"-thread but of course I should've put it in this thread. Sweet fern then asked about the book. I must say I liked it a lot. For one thing, I never knew doctors really talk about "zebra's" when they mean "weird, rare diseases" and the book talks a lot about the art of diagnostics. Also it takes a close look at some of House's cases like in "Daddy's Boy", "Paternity" and "Babies and bathwater". I would certainly recommend it to my fellow-House-addicts, but I'm very curious as to other people's thoughts about it.

saara_zaara- 09-08-2007

Presenters added Omar Epps & Jennifer Morrison have been added as presenters at the Creative Arts Emmys (not the regular Emmys.) Hibernia, I'm not sure how many folks are aware of the book, let a one read it. It was new to me - I'm going to have to track it down.

marykir- 09-08-2007

Omar and Jennifer are presenting at the Creative Arts Emmys, not the main show. The Creative Arts show will be on E! Sep. 15th. (When I was setting up the DVR I didn't see any repeats.)

saara_zaara- 09-08-2007

Okay, I'm officially an idiot - I didn't even know there was a difference! I'll edit my post. Marykir, you are a fountain of knowledge!

marykir- 09-08-2007

Creative Arts is where the "other" 2 categories with House nominations will be presented. They do all the technical categories and guest actors, I guess to add some glamor to the event :)

Siriusly- 09-08-2007

Has anyone read Hugh Laurie's "The Gun Seller"? I guess it's OT with regards to the show, but I've just got it today and I'm quite excited. The first two pages are riveting.
