Longest sentence ever on HHOW. 'Course it's about HL. Nothing earth-shattering, mostly about how he's English, a comedian, does a great American accent, and isn't like House :)
I don't care how many times such nonsense is reported—it's ALL LIES. Hugh Laurie is 3rd generation Bulgarian, has studied only the crafts of Noh Theatre and shadow puppetry, his vocal cords were removed years ago and it's a well-documented fact that he walks around the set of House loudly commenting on his female co-worker's and executive producer's T&A so as to distract them whilst he doses everyone's beverages with amphetamines.
Also, his hair looks the same before he walks into the Hair/Makeup Trailer as it does on the show.
Even if all this was true I would still fangirl him like mad. Yep.

Thanks marykir! That was much better than I thought it might be, going by the format of the show. It was fun. It's kind of unusual that they actually picked clips from the show, that fit rather well, isn't it?
I don't know what this fandom would do without you. :D

Fox & Friends Sunday did a 4 minute segment on Hugh. Nothing earth-shattering, mostly about how he's English, a comedian, does a great American accent, and isn't like House They do mention ABoF&L as well as House, which is unusual. That season pass finally paid off.
Aha! That’s the first time I’ve heard HL admit he sometimes gets accused of starting to sound American when he’s back home.
And thanks so much for catching this one. I’d heard about the House bit on this show but didn’t imagine that you’d have gotten a recording of it. You are so on the ball.

eta: Never mind. Thanks marykir!

Pigs are flying outside my window.
I never thought I'd be able to accuse Fox & Friends of putting together even a half-assed decent profile like that. While it wasn't the most amazing thing in the world, it managed to plumb a little deeper than most attempt to, so bravo to Rupert and friends.
Thanks, Marykir!

Not good news on what looks like the very real possibility of the writer's strike happening Nov. 1st. House is mentioned. Unfortunately we're not getting episode 4 this week as the article mistakenly says.

That's a depressing read. If the writers do strike, does it halt movie production as well?
And didn't I read that the last strike helped to give birth to the current flood of reality shows? Will this mean even more of that drudge will find a niche and be on the air for the next several years? Yech.
I just realized there are more emoticons available now and just had to use one. Hmm, lets' see, if there is a strike, Hugh will have much more time to go :ship:
I'm fine with fewer episodes, and I'm more concerned by this:
...they’ve been asking their writers to try and get as many episodes done as possible before that date. Because of an already intense work schedule, made even more daunting by this deadline, writers are burning themselves out. All of which means the quality of shows might suffer. Quantity, as TV is concerned, has rarely equaled quality.

I find this whole thing fascinating.
And yes, I'm ready to pull out my I.W.W. little red book and sing songs about solidarity. I'm not going to mourn, I'm going to organize. But clearly some shows would have more impetus to get writers working again than others.
Oh, let's use the example of, say, "House." Considering they're slotted to air right after the Superbowl, you'd think they'd want to be still rolling in production at that point.
I suppose the alternative is that they stop airing new episodes after Nov. 1 and hold the new ones they DO have finished until February. Ugh.

Is there an emoticon for just going home? I assume THAT'S what Hugh would do if he ends up with a big chunk of unproductive time on his hands.

That's obvious. This new season already sucks compared to the last 3. They're stealing from reality shows and dumbing down a once brilliant show.

November is a sweeps month too, so it seems unlikely they wouldn't show new episodes then. I suppose the big question for House is - is the Super Bowl 2-parter written yet? And will it end up being the season finale instead of the mid-season return?
I don't really understand why the negotiations are so complicated. I mean, I understand it's money and the studios don't want to let any more than they have to out of their grubby little hands. It just seems like it would be simpler for all concerned if they could just say $X revenue related to this program comes in from all sources. The minimum amount which group A gets from the revenue is $Y upfront (as salary, to cover costs, etc.) and Z% of whatever is leftover (if anything).

I got the impression that the Feb two-parter was already written. DS and KJ seem very organized so I don't think House will suffer.

FYI, the Fox House page is now advertising that episodes are available through Fox on Demand here. All I've got so far is a "loading" animation, so I don't know if it really works or not...
