Well, seeing as though that tepid kiss ranked as #5 on Television Without Pity web site of most anticipated TV moments that paid off in 2008, I think the one commenting is off base. But that is my opinion, I realize. I love House & Cuddy together and don't find anything creepy about it. On the contrary. The UST has been there since Season 1 and I love it.

I could be totally off base, but in my mind I picture the person writing that "tepid" blurb as the interviewer with JMo who was all for House and Cameron having had a sexual relationship during the first three seasons, offscreen. Of course, I'm not even sure the interviewer was TV Guide based, so I'm on a very tippy boat here. :D Possibly capsizing.

Oh, just saw that about the "tepid kiss." Well, despite my earlier non-shipper post, I did think that was a hungry, passionate kiss with a lot of meaning for both House and Cuddy, which was why they both backed away from it. The Cameron kiss was way closer to tepid, though there was briefly some heat there before House realized it was just a trick.

The media is usually very pro Huddy and pimp it like crazy - which, I believe is one of the reasons why some are getting tired of it. Hmm, which magazines/newspapers? My perception was that there wasn't much commentary about the House/Cuddy relationship per se, just promotion/spoilers of the sort put out by Ausiello/Kristen, which are generally based on whatever's happening on the show. The general reaction I remember was kind of lukewarm, with a few loving it and a few hating it. But, admittedly, I could be wrong there. I could be totally off base, but in my mind I picture the person writing that "tepid" blurb as the interviewer with JMo who was all for House and Cameron having had a sexual relationship during the first three seasons, offscreen. I know, you may be joking *g*, but I still wanted to say that there's many reasons one might find the recent House/Cuddy storyline off-putting, and only one has to do with House/Cameron shipping. I, personally, for example, always enjoyed House/Cuddy in theory and felt that the actors had a strong chemistry together, but have found the way the storyline's been developed...well, creepy is a pretty good word for it, really. YMMV, IMO, and all those standard disclaimers apply, of course.

I found both the House/Cuddy and House/Cameron kisses to be equally "creepy." Well, maybe House/Cam was a little more creepy with the whole stab-and-kiss thing, but I found both of them to be a little nauseating.

TV Guide has a special Cheers & Jeers this week re. House. Bmax67 scanned it in on this LJ post, along with an extra (gorgeous) picture of HL from later in the issue. Thanks, deelaundry Very lovely indeed :D

NekoCat- 12-17-2008

I'm loving TV Guide more and more each week. Maybe I should subscribe.

Cool that the headline above the newspaper cutout says, "Are We Experienced?"

Does this remind anyone of a certain House episode? Edited because I can't spell today

Well, maybe House/Cam was a little more creepy with the whole stab-and-kiss thing, but I found both of them to be a little nauseating. Couldn't agree less. Any kissing they have Hugh do is fine with me, and I enjoy the rare ones we're treated to. I've never seen him do anything that I consider nauseating.

I don't think the H/Cuddy kiss was creepy at all. Their follow up interactions were juvenile and unrealistic, so that was nauseating, but the actual kiss, although the leadup made no sense, seemed passionate and natural to me. The Cameron kiss was very creepy to me and just completely odd and to me was just ship-pandering - it just struck me as wrong.

Boffle- 12-18-2008

Exactly DOB1234. I've enjoyed his kissing scenes with Stacy and Cuddy more, thought there was more connection and heat there, but even the Cam scene was well done, with House's indecision, what the hell enjoyment, then growing realization that a trick was in progress all making the scene work. It's not like he's a Casanova, these are meaningful moments and lead somewhere dramatically. Also, he's hot in those scenes. Nauseating and Hugh Laurie do not belong in the same sentence.

amysusanne- 12-18-2008

I enjoyed the House/Cameron kiss because it was the only one that wasn't depressing. House and Stacy were ultimately doomed and there was always a sense of sadness beneath their more intimate scenes, though the hotel room kiss was pretty adorable. Still, angst is great, but there wasn't much to pull for because you knew it would end soon. The House/Cuddy kiss was full of desperation and confusion and Cuddy was going through fifteen different things. With the Cameron kiss, though, there was nothing much at stake. Sure, the House/Cameron ship hadn't entirely sunk, but it was close, so there was an interesting side to it where it ultimately wasn't going to change anything. Therefore it was okay for it to be funny. The shifting eyes and "oh, what the hell" body language was *funny*. Plus, it was hot, so whatever. If it hadn't been so depressing, House/Cuddy could have been hot, but instead it was just puzzling and I felt bad for both of them. Either way, it's interesting to me that TVG isn't anti-House/Cuddy. They don't think House/Cuddy is creepy, they didn't like the *kiss*. The blurb made it clear that they actually like the pairing, they just found the kiss to be disappointing and off putting. It wasn't the payoff they were expecting.
