Detour... sorry... I was also glad to see Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell on the list. Oh, me too! I loved that show and their relationship (though I never "ship" them...). Starsky&Hutch (aka PMG and DS) were also on the list and these two were my first slash couple, long before I learned the meaning of slash. Love to see them there! I ADORE Scott Bakula and Dean Stockwell. Sam/Al was the first slash I ever ran across. Initially, I was very shocked! LOL I would love to see Scott or Dean make an appearance on House. Wow Leapers among the Houseians! I never slashed Al & Sam, I never slashed any same sex couple before House and Wilson (you always remember your first :D ), But I did adore them together. Always wonderful funny warmth between the two of them, real caring. I'm sorry I missed seeing Bakula when he was doing some musical work off and on B'way before TV discovered him. Stockwell I have always loved from when I saw his film work as a child actor to his young adulthood including playing Edmond in the film version of LDJIN, the same role RSL played on B'way, to Paris, Texas and Married to the Mob and the endearing weirdness that was his scene in Blue Velvet. Amazing that one man has a career that spanned so much time with success at each point and had so much breadth as well. as you were...

filex, I'll join you in your Stockwell love. He is my favorite male Cylon dear, creepy Brother Cavil (my best friend hates me when I say this, she is a CKR girl all the way) Lully, your first was S&H WOW! so was mine! However hate their pic, gives me AwfulMovieFlashbacks.

your first was S&H WOW! so was mine! Mine too. Well, it's how I found out what slash was, it's even how I found out what fanfiction was. I don't remember if I actually shipped them (I was 10) but I adored them together. Cop shows, I tell ya, they give you some of the best slash out there. AwfulMovieFlashbacks. Okay, so they completely changed the characters personalities, but I found it amusing, not great and certainly not to be taken seriously and maybe even a little insulting to the show, but it gave me enough cheap laughs. I loved that Owen Wilson sang, "Don't Give Up On Us Baby," I think I was the only one in the theater who got that one.

Cop shows, I tell ya, they give you some of the best slash out there. Oh yes! Which is why its also great that Pembleton and Bayliss from Homicide also made the list. Again I didn't ship them but with Bayliss's bisexuality emerging it was in retrospect an interesting twist on the duo.

Hee, shared shows... I never cared much about Scott Bakula, but I loved Stockwell! It was all about Al! ixtab wrote: your first was S&H WOW! so was mine! However hate their pic, gives me AwfulMovieFlashbacks. Awesome! It was a long time ago in a very far galaxy! I didn't even know why I was so annoyed when someone/something came between them. I only found out about this whole slash thing with the House's fandom. And I laughed a lot with the movie! It wasn't about the series; it was about the perception that some fans have about the characters. Very meta... Oh, I missed Jim/Blair from the Sentinel on that list - what? why are you looking at me like that? They were cute together! 8) Is it me or we're completely OT here? ETA: OMG! Shia LaBeouf is a guy????

Am I the only idiot who initially thought "slash" fics were horror fics until I clicked on one?

Am I the only idiot who initially thought "slash" fics were horror fics until I clicked on one? Nope, me too!

BFTV will be participating in a charity event/concert sponsored by Ford on June 21 in LA (press release).

amysusanne- 06-13-2008

I don't see anything related to the rally on that page.

Maryl- 06-13-2008

Ford seems to have taken the press release down. It was there a couple of hours ago. Maybe the event has been cancelled? It is also mentioned on the People Mag. website.

amysusanne- 06-13-2008

Greg promoted the event on television this morning, so I'm assuming it isn't cancelled. It's odd that Ford would remove their press release, though I suppose the most logical reason would be that it contained errors and they're just correcting them before reissuing it.

USA Today's choices for Emmy nominations. Given the context I'm going to assume that "made hay" is a compliment.

Maryl- 06-13-2008

The webpage with the Ford press release is still on my computer. This is what it said about the event next Saturday: "The Rally will be hosted by charity partner "Band From TV," pitting 10 teams of celebrities in a cross-town challenge event for charity ... Charity Partner "Band From TV," with members including Greg Grunberg ("Heroes"), Hugh Laurie ("House"), Teri Hatcher ("Desperate Housewives") and Jesse Spencer ("House"), is donating all performance proceeds to charities of band members' choice... (It is) a scavenger hunt-style charity challenge in greater Los Angeles ....Following the Flex Rally, the "Band From TV" will perform at an exclusive red-carpet event at the finish line that will also feature a performance from up-and-coming musical artist Santogold, with Downtown Records... The Rally will start and conclude at The Edison in Downtown Los Angeles..."

USA Today's choices for Emmy nominations. Given the context I'm going to assume that "made hay" is a compliment. make hay: Take advantage of favorable circumstances From "make hay while the sun shines": To take an opportunity to do something when the time and conditions are near perfect or available.
