Namaste- 02-01-2009

When I was there I was near Lublin for a day or so. I visited a company in Poniatowa (a few Lublin university graduates were employed the firm) for work prior to vacation. I few into Warsaw and took the train toward Lublin and got off at a town before Lublin that's famous for it's water, if that makes sense. I speak almost no Polish, was traveling alone and the people in my car didn't speak English, but one of them (an older businessman) when I showed him my ticket because I was afraid I'd miss my stop he appointed himself my guardian and made certain I got to where I was going -- all pretty much in sign language and lots of nods and smiles.

Well, you're talking about Naleczow (or Nałęczów, when using Polish font - I'm not sure how will it look like on your computer). Yup, quite famous although I've never been there (but my mom and her friends go there every month). Polish is quite difficult language; last year we had this new French teacher. Well, we managed to teach him some basic rules of our language and lots of words only because he spoke English (now, French is one hell of a language too; they speak WAY too fast and every word sounds the same). And -Poles as we are- we taught him how to swear :3 although he had some "knowledge" -his (great?)grandfather was from Poland and moved to France due to WWII I think.

I can read the Polish font. Still can't pronounce the name of the town, though. I just kept holding my ticket out to people. (I will always remember, though, that an l with a line through it is pronounced as a w.)

Pluha- 02-06-2009

Well, I found this tread! I'm Pluha. Real name is Yulia or Julia. I'm 23 yo, and I'm from Russia  What else... what else... I'm in love with House M.D. and the most exciting characters here for me are House, Cuddy and Wilson! I work at pharmaceutical company as a logistic specialist. And I love my job! :D I love travelling, jogging, swimming and snowboarding. Crazy about dogs, penguins, polar bears and Lizards. Want to know more - please, fell free to ask me

Chipmunk_love- 02-06-2009

Hi, Pluha! Russia sounds like a very interesting place to live. I'm pretty crazy about House, Cuddy, Wilson, too. :) Hope you have fun here.

fffaw- 02-06-2009

Welcome Pluha! Where do you live in Russia? I was in the Former Soviet Union back when it was still the Soviet Union back in early 1990 for about a month. I was in Moscow, Leningrad, Kiev & Zagorsk.

hi
hi all, I'm Rachel--from a little suburb near Vancouver B.C. :) I got hooked on House after renting a DVD from the local video store. Yeah, Canadians can't get access to hulu.com so that's what I had to do to catch old episodes of House. I loved it, bought the DVD box set, and good lord, I think I'm close to memorizing lines already.... Hugh Laurie has to be the only actor that makes me turn inside out when he's on screen. I figure I'm close to crazy, but I'm glad to be able to share the insanity with everyone else here. Oh yeah, when I found the fanfiction thread, I think my obsessiveness ratched up several notches. I've seriously read almost every thing rec'ced, and it amazes me how close fanfic writers get to the actual episodes, at times. :) You guys rock. Carry on.

Thanks everybody! You r awesome!! Welcome Pluha! Where do you live in Russia? I was in the Former Soviet Union back when it was still the Soviet Union back in early 1990 for about a month. I was in Moscow, Leningrad, Kiev & Zagorsk. Well, I live not far from Moscow. Before Moscow, I'd lived in Siberia  :D I also have a lot of friends in Leningrad (St Petersburg now), and couple friends in Kiev (Ukrain). Russia sounds like a very interesting place to live. Thanks! Yeap, very nice country! But I was born in Lithuania, after that lived in Kazakstan, and spent 6 mounthes in 2007 in Chicago! Lovely city!!!

Poeia- 02-08-2009

spent 6 mounthes in 2007 in Chicago! Lovely city!!! Except that it's very cold in the winter. But I guess that's nothing for someone who has lived in Siberia. RachelSue check out the Desert Island Fics. No one has been adding to it, so its missing all the new great fics, but you'll find a lot of must-read classics for any fanfic fan.

Since I’ve already posted a couple of times in the Spoiler Discussion thread, I thought I should introduce myself. I’m 35 years old, I teach English as a foreign language in a Finnish high school and have been a huge fan of Hugh Laurie (and Stephen Fry) ever since I used to watch Jeeves and Wooster on TV as a teenager. Even though I teach English, it’s still a foreign language to me and I’m not going to sound idiomatic all the time – so please, bear with me and my mistakes. I’m not a very avid TV watcher and I discovered House MD quite by accident. I remember seeing the third episode on TV, going out the next day and buying the first two seasons on DVD. Later on, this led to the discovery of House discussion forums (this is the first one I've ever participated in) and fan fiction ( ). We finished with season three in December but due to the wonders of the Internet, I’ve seen every episode apart from the latest, The Greater Good.

Not exactly new here, but I started posting over a year ago and then got bummed out during the strike. I haven't posted since then, so I thought I'd introduce myself again.

Poeia- 02-28-2009

Welcome back.

Spider- 03-23-2009

Hello... My name is Emily and I've been a Hugh fan for at least a dozen years--ever since I first saw him as Prince Ludvig the Indestructible on Blackadder. I toil away on novels to support my hobby of being a retail drone in an Iowa city called Iowa City.

galaxygirl- 03-23-2009

Welcome Emily Good to see a fellow Iowan here, my husband and I live pretty close by in North Liberty.
