He Likes Crazy People: Preview Screening Spoilers
Spoiler-philes come in all forms. Some just want to know a little. Others want to know every detail they can find out. HHoW’s spoiler policy is usually “all or nothing.” We keep a tight lid on spoilers in most of the forum. Clicking on a spoiler thread means you’re cool with being spoiled. Usually that’s fine but the screening will create 500 fans on each coast who know every detail. So, to be fair to all types of spoiler fans, we’ve created a special thread for information from the screening of “Broken.” Important Rule: The different spoiler threads are to remain separate. This thread is only for spoilers from the Preview. If what you read here makes you realize what an Episode 2 spoiler might mean, keep it to yourself. Facts you learn here may not be discussed in the regular spoiler discussion thread until after the episode has aired on the West Coast on Monday. Warning: People who break the Important Rule will be instantly suspended. No second warnings. No discussion. The suspension will be lifted once the episode has finished airing.

Just got home a little while ago from the screening. I had to think a lot about it on the whole drive home (about an hour and a half), but I've come to the conclusion that I really liked it. There were aspects that hit really close to home for me and I still need to work out how I feel about the whole medication thing (I've had very bad experiences with them in the past so it's hard for me to be objective or open-minded about that subject), but for the most part I liked how everything was dealt with. It was a real rollercoaster of emotions and there was a lot to take in. I don't read spoilers so I have no idea what's in the future, but it really feels like a journey is just beginning. Because of this it's hard to say how I feel about this one part of it without seeing the rest. I'm such a hardcore spoilerphobe that even in a thread devoted to discussing the screening, I feel weird talking about the episode before it has aired. Maybe if someone else gets the ball rolling I'll think of more to say. Mostly, though, I really just want to see it again. I also want to add that it was wonderful meeting so many fellow HHOW'ers and other fans! I had a great time and I hope I'll meet you all again someday. :D

Not sure if this is the correct thread to ask this but since it will have people on here who've been there I thought I'd give it a shot. For those who went to the LA screening; do you know if the cast actually watched the screening? I know they were there but wasn't sure if they were actually in the theater watching. It's interesting to hear info from them knowing that they've seen the final product and not just read the script. Thanks

Also would like to know if Hugh's EP title was shown in the credits? Since he admitted in the TV Guide video that he was an EP, he may be more open to it now showing in the credits.

In one of the Promo-Photos, we can see House sitting on a bench and we can also see a wheelchair beside this bench. Was House forced to use this wheelchair? If yes, then why? And how is House dealing with his leg pain and the new pain regiment?

kittylugnut- 09-18-2009

1) I didn't see exactly where they were sitting or which ones stayed, but I'm pretty sure that at least some of the cast did stay and watch. 2) I'll have to let them out themselves if they want to be known. 3) Yes, Hugh's EP credit was listed, but at the end. The credits were completely different for this one episode. There was no opening title sequence at all. Some opening credits were run over the (very powerful) opening scene, while the rest of the credits ran movie-style at the end. Hugh's name was third or fourth (IIRC) in a list of Executive Producers. ETA: 4) No, House was never in a wheelchair. He was still in pain but it wasn't a main focus of the episode after he'd detoxed. I seem to recall some mention of him being on another medication for the pain, but I don't remember it clearly. I could even be imagining it.

Was the cast just there to present the check to NAMI? Did they do anything else?

iamdaffodils- 09-18-2009

kitty - I just have one question regarding a scene in the promos - when the orderlies have House down on the floor and they're either putting a pill in or taking a pill out of his mouth - can you explain what that's about?

kittylugnut- 09-18-2009

1) the cast had their big photo op outside, then Hugh delivered a five minute speech before bringing out the rest of the cast to present the check. Hugh seemed very nervous. There was no official appearance after the show, but I saw Katie Jacobs, David Foster and Greg Yaitanes in the lobby afterward. 2) House was involved in an altercation. I can say no more.

Mod Note: Yeah, kitty no one likes a tease. If you don't feel comfortable talking in this thread which, may I add, we created so that you could and only those who wished to know would come here (which we made blatantly clear in about eleventy places), then please don't poke us with sticks. It's cruel. And unfair.

kittylugnut- 09-18-2009

I apologize. I guess I misunderstood the point of this thread. Please understand that I am a spoilerphobe and I don't really understand what you want from me. I couldn't possibly retell the story in any way that could do it justice. I really just wanted to talk about the episode - I didn't think I'd be the only one in here who had seen it. It's all just been a big misunderstanding and I'm sorry. I didn't mean to be cruel, but at the same time I don't think I know how to give you what you want. I don't even know where to begin and I don't remember it well enough to give a scene by scene, so I guess I'll just wait for the discussion thread to open up on Monday. Again, I'm sorry.
