Does anyone has rating info for last Tuesday yet? I just read on TVGuide that NCIS(surprisingly enough, in it's 5th season it's turning into a big ratings grabber for CBS) was the highest rated show of the night.

These are from a combination of PI Feedback and Futon Critic: NCIS 18.28M viewers, 11.5/18 households, 4.1/11 A18-49 House 18.12M viewers, 10.8/16 households, 7.7/18 A18-49 I think House gained a bit in the final numbers for the day. Last week (405), House was 7th in viewers, 8th in households, 2nd in A18-49, 4th in A25-54. eta: final numbers for Tuesday: House 18,173,000, 10.8/16, 7.7/18 NCIS 18,149,000, 11.4/17, 4.0/11 DwtS 17,061,000, 11.4/17, 3.9/9

Thanks Marykir :)

This week's fast affiliate ratings, from PI Feedback: NCIS 17.43M viewers, 3.7/10 A18-49 DwtS 17.46M viewers, 4.1/10 A18-49 House 16.90M viewers, 7.0/17 A18-49 This is down over 1M viewers from last week's fast affiliate ratings. Oddly, the same thing happened the equivalent week in both season 2 and season 3 - then the numbers bounced right back the next week. Inquiring minds want to know, what are all those House viewers doing the 2nd full week of November? :)

I don't understand how the numbers can be so different in different places. TV By the Numbers had the same data as PI Feedback, with House 3rd for the night in viewers after DwtS and NCIS. Where do these other numbers come from that put House on top? Is this spin? I don't get it. Also, I know nothing about NCIS. Anyone have any input on what they've done this season? It's kind of amazing for a show to become a big hit in S5. Regarding the fall-off in viewers this week of Nov., 3 seasons running, that is very weird. I'd put it down to the fact that DwtS is heating up as it nears the finals, but that doesn't explain why things would have changed the following week. Anyway, I just hope the bounce-back for House occurs next week too. A very solid episode this week may help. I'd have to say last week's was the worst-received ep in memory, based on forum comments around the Net.

Also, I know nothing about NCIS. Anyone have any input on what they've done this season? It's kind of amazing for a show to become a big hit in S5. There was an article in the Seattle Times a few weeks ago talking about just this. Largely I guess it comes down to a continuation of good storytelling and plumbing deeper into the characters lives.

Where do these other numbers come from that put House on top? House was by far the top show in the 18-49 demographic. Also, for the night overall, Fox averaged the most total viewers and 18-49 viewers - but I think that's as much due to them only having 2 hours as anything else.

I understand the demo numbers, but where do those edited final numbers come from upthread? They are quite different from the fast nationals.

The fast numbers are only from key cities, so they're just a sampling of the sampling. The final numbers include the entire assortment of Nielsen families from everywhere, and also the TiVo and other DVR numbers.

The fast nationals seem to be the ratings that get talked about the most. It's surprising there could be such swings.

I thought this particular obervation by the NCIS showrunners was very interesting _"The trick is to maintain the show that the audience knows and loves, a procedural but with a strong core of humor and character interplay."

Hmmm. That is very interesting, and sounds like a good recipe for a long run. Reading this forum among others, though, it seems with House, we don't all know and love the same show.

Thanks, Mary. I understand the demo numbers, but where do those edited final numbers come from upthread? They are quite different from the fast nationals. Those are from *last* week. If you can force yourself to read through the PI Feedback forum threads for Tuesdays, usually someone will post the final same day numbers in the afternoon.

Seems a shame that last week's ep did so much better than this week's very good one. Well, we can hope for the 3rd week of Nov. rebound, I guess.

That's probably what it comes down to. I really enjoy watching NCIS, they rarely have bad episodes. I'm surprised that it's such a big hit now in it's 5th season, but I believe the ratings have been rising throughout the years.
