Changes, Rules and What To Do When You Can’t Get On HHoW
The biggest change is that 407 is getting ready to go to University. With all that entails, she just doesn’t have time to run a forum with almost 700 members and an average of over 200 posts a day. As a result, all accounts now have to be activated by an administrator. We've found an odd side effect of this setting - if you make ANY changes to your account profile (email address, etc.) it deactivates your account and an administrator must reactivate you. So, if you plan to make any changes, please PM fffaw or Poeia first. That way we will know to check your account and reactivate you. (It doesn’t seem to mind if you change your avatar but it’s still worth sending the PM just in case.) If your account does get deactivated, you’ll still be able to read posts, so use this handy link to contact us at hhowforum@gmail.com When the Site Is Down Forumer, the service that hosts our forum, is pretty good. But it’s not perfect. So we have a Live Journal community, hhowupdates just to let us communicate when HHoW is out of commission. (If you forget the address, Poeia has posted a link at the top of her LJ which is inexplicably named http://poeia.livejournal.com/) Rules We have a whole sub-forum, Rules, Guidelines and Announcements, just for explaining things like the rules (The Important Junk) and our very strict Spoiler Policy. Please read them and check back occasionally for any updates and changes. The short version of the rules is: * Be nice. * Don’t talk smack about other people or boards. And there’s a difference between discussing what you do and don’t like about an actor (or his/her body) and being rude about it. * Be tolerant of other people’s opinions. * Don’t purposely create dissention unless you like getting slapped down. * Make your posts readable (no chatspeak, use proper capitalization, no rainbow colors and a keep emoticons to a minimum.) * No posting pictures. You should link to all photos and videos you want to share with your fellow members. In other words, the anonymity of a screen name is no excuse for bad manners.
