You are free to enjoy it, and I am free to hate it.
This is very true. And as much as you dislike being forced to like this story, some of us don't appreciate being asked to hate it, with statements such as these:
But wasn't it far more interesting when it was played out with House and Stacy? Better actors, more interesting characters, etc.
Excuse me, but that statement of mine was directed at 310Daisy, who is a friend of mine and therefore I knew would agree with me on that statement. It was a friendly, warm-hearted comment between two friends.
I wasn't asking anyone to hate the story line. (I wasn't even asking 310Daisy to hate the story line. I was simply engaging her in our bond over loving the House-Stacy relationship.) And I think it's clear my friendly statement was directed at her, since I quoted her above my statement. It wasn't directed at you or anyone else, so I'd appreciate it if you'd spare me your misplaced hostility.

Yes, I realize that everyone is free to comment on my post, even though it was directed at someone specific. But if someone misinterprets my post (thinking it's directed at her when it's clearly not), then I'm going to correct her on it. I wasn't asking anyone to hate Bore-teen; I was making a playful comment to a friend.
I wasn't saying it was directed at me. As ENB said, all posts are public. As far as I was aware, it was directed at the community as a whole. If I misunderstood you, then I'm sorry.
I don't think anything is wrong with what NightOwl said; the thread is about Thirteen and Foreman and she was expressing her opinion. I do not see how her saying that it was far more interesting when played out between House and Stacy in any way amounts to - or even approximates - telling anyone else they had to not like (or like) any particular storyline or ship. So it's all good. :)
Mod Note: And now that everyone has had a say, please get back to talking about Foreteen. Thanks.
House/Stacy is curry, House/Cuddy is sweet sauce, Chase/Cameron is microwave pizza, and now Foreman/Thirteen is rocky road ice cream.
I gotta admit, while I'm not a big fan of Foreteen, I loved Thirteen's "rocky road" metaphor. I was cringing a little at the direction the conversation was going...I thought they were going to start fighting ... then Thirteen all of a sudden said she didn't want other people geting their paws on her rocky road. I was grinning like a fool after that. Too cute
Wow, last post is more than a year ago. Guess no one likes this ship. XD
And really, it isn't convincing and I think it came out from nowhere. The writers are pairing people up just for the sake of pairing people up.

Or it's been discussed in episode threads.
I'm not a shipper of anyone or any pairing on the show (imagine that!), but think there were some interesting explorations of the characters through the ship, even if it was never meant to last a long time -- which is my take on the Thirteen and Foreman pairing. It was transitional for both of them, for Thirteen as she was coming into acceptance with her fate and moving beyond anger and acting out, and for Foreman as he looked for some human connection, rather than ambition.
But then most relationships we go through in life aren't forever and a day. We make connections, they smolder, they burn, then fade out and we move on. If we're lucky, those connections may one day mean something, even if we don't know those meanings at the time.
