I just heard. So very sad. I do have faith that they will end it in a way that will do justice to the absolutely unique qualities of the show and especially the character of House. Oh Hugh, how I will miss you.

It's sad, but I think it's time. I'm also glad that they made the decision before it was made for them. All I've ever wanted is for the show to end with House and Wilson walking down the hall together having a conversation. I really hope that's how it ends.

Manicman- 02-09-2012

They should end it with House amputating his leg.

All I've ever wanted is for the show to end with House and Wilson walking down the hall together having a conversation. I really hope that's how it ends. I agree with your every word. Like some others, I also really hope they do not kill off House. And I honestly don't believe they will, partly because of the predictability of it. I'm a little concerned they'll kill off Wilson, just to have a House-stands-alone sort of ending. But I still think it's more likely they won't leave it that bleak. I'd love a quietly hopeful ending.

Thank you, David Shore, Hugh Laurie, Katie Jacobs, Robert Sean Leonard, Jennifer Morrison, Jesse Spencer, Omar Epps, Peter Jacobson, Olivia Wilde, Amber Tamblyn, Odette Annable, Charlyne Yi, the other writers, directors, supporting actors and rest of the crew for creating House MD and taking part in, what for me will ever be, the best and smartest show of the world. The show has positively changed and accompanied my life in the last six years, because without it I would never have met my best friend and some other friends. There are no words to describe how much I love this show and how incredible sad I am to see it ending. I will miss the show so much and am sure that I will never find a show again, which touches me se deeply like House MD. I will never forget this fantastic show and will follow TPTB and the actors / actresses to their new projects! I hope that some day, there will be a House MD movie, which we can watch on Television or at the cinemas! A special “THANK YOU” goes to Hugh Laurie, who with his terrific acting portrayed the character of Dr. Gregory House so brilliant that he become like a real human being to me. House and Wilson are like soul mates to me. Then there is another “Thank you” for the music. It was one of the greatest and loveliest experiences of my life to see and hear Hugh Laurie live in Hamburg. I hope that Hugh Laurie won’t retire from acting completely, so that we can see him on the TV and Cinema screen again.

I echo everyone else's sadness but it is good to know that it was ultimately their decision to end it. HL has his key to the 'golden cage', which must be a relief and I'm sure Mrs L will be glad to have her old man back. If David Shore can control his self-destructive impulses (he is House, after all, ) we could have a fabulously ambiguous ending about which we can argue for months. No deaths please.

Lully- 02-11-2012

Though it makes me sad, I too believe it's time. I also agree it would fit very well with the main theme of the show, that people don't change - because, really, fundamentally, they don't - if the last scene is House and Wilson walking side by side. I always thought they should complete a full circle, ending where they started. I fear 'very special endings' so I'd like to think House/Wilson will both remain there, being friends, having fun together, with the same warm banter it used to permeate their conversations and without no one or anything between them. I'll be glad with just that. *Sure, I also would be very gratefull if they could share a hug for whatever reason, but... you can't always get what you want*

Sad but not surprised by the news. It stopped from being the show I loved and was obsessed by many seasons ago. Bye my friend, thanks for the company, but it's time to say good bye. :rose:

"Everybody Lies." That flourish at the end of the House Team's announcement that the show was coming to a close carries more meaning in the light of the TV Guide article, if it's accurate.

The Real Story Behind House's Cancellation http://www.tvguide.com/News/House-Cancellation-1043356.aspx This is making me want to cry. I was okay with it when I thought Hugh Laurie wanted it to be over. This just sucks so bad!

Boffle- 02-14-2012

I'd take that TV Guide article with a big ole grain of salt.

Poeia- 02-14-2012

I'd take that TV Guide article with a big ole grain of salt. I agree. It's like some of those print "interviews" which claim they spoke to him but are actually cobbled together from quotes in other print interviews (and those could be fictitious to begin with.) Hugh has said the British press makes things up but I don't think the American press is always that far behind. "One exec believes that Laurie, one of the highest-paid actors on TV (he makes $700,000 an episode), was even prepared to take a pay cut in order to return." Translation: An anonymous person was not told by Hugh (or anyone else) that Hugh was willing to take a pay cut in S8, but it's what he thinks. If Hugh were absolutely opposed to another season, we probably would have been told months ago that the show wouldn't return. But the fact that it took them until now to make a decision does not mean that Fox made it for them.

reckless- 02-16-2012

But the fact that it took them until now to make a decision does not mean that Fox made it for them. Realistically circumstances made it for them, a combination of Fox being lukewarm about paying for a new season and TBP not wanting House to be yet another show without an ending (which was a realistic scenario if they went into yet another contract negotiation situation that stretched all the way to May). Either way though, makes no difference why it's ending, the fact remains it's ending and I m a sad panda, even if I haven't been as much into the show last couple of years

Cuddyclothes- 02-22-2012

I'm both very sad and relieved. (Also, I'm pretty sure it was cancelled, but that's just me."I'm not fired, I quit!") It's been a very important part of my life for several years, both the good and the bad. And when it's good, it's spectacular. I've never been so invested in a show. "House" came into my life at a time when something challenging was needed, and it was that and more. I'm also glad they have time to write a series finale, no matter what happens. Here's hoping House and Wilson stroll off into the sunset together. Whatever else, I'm in mourning and will be after it ends.
