I would love to see this, for a couple of reasons: 1. It does get them back in diagnostics. There's no better way to see how much they've grown than to watch them diagnose. Fans have been yearning to see more medical Chase/Cameron, and I think this is the best way for this to happen. It wouldn't mean that they would re-join the team permanently, but it could be the starting point to get them more involved more often, in whatever shape that would take. ITA, chipmunk. They've had plenty of personal drama, but this would give us an opportunity to see them doing what we like watching them do, with the added shading of how their relationship has changed. Plus, both of them - Cameron in Saviors and Chase in Under My Skin - have used work as a place to hide out and avoid their relationship problems. Cameron was pretty obvious, but Chase walked out of the DDX at one point in UMS and it seemed at the end that he didn't go home until the case was really over. It would be interesting to have that crutch taken away from both of them.

Fans have been yearning to see more medical Chase/Cameron I'd like to see more Medical Cameron and more Medical Chase but not Chase/Cameron as if they are now one entity. I hate it that Cameron is now nothing more than an extension of Chase and most often a lesser one. Of the 24 episodes of season 5, there is only one, Big Baby, in which her role as a doctor was more important than her role as Chase's girl friend. I felt that somewhere in the middle third of the season, Cameron went off and had a lobotomy; it was probably over that stretch of episodes where she didn't make an appearance. Whenever it was, the character of Cameron that I knew and liked very much seemed to disappear, and a wishy-washy version of her came back in her place; one that didn't appear to be a doctor, merely the girlfriend of a doctor. ITA. I don't know why they did it, whether it's because Shore lost interest in Cameron, whether they knew the original Cameron would never have been in this kind of relationship with Chase or whether they needed to make sure she could never be a threat to Huddy but they certainly changed the character from the one who was one of my main draws to the show in the first seasons. Worse than her being reduced to Chase's girlfriend is how she went from the person in season 1 who knew exactly what she wanted and set about getting it to someone who is silly, neurotic and so unknowing of her own feelings and motivations that she has to have every man on the show tell her what she's thinking and what she should do. I think the worst thing that ever happened to the character of She-Who-Used-To-Be-Cameron is the way they hooked her up with Chase. But maybe they had to because I can't see season 1 Cameron accepting this kind of relationship with Chase. They are both settling for what is second best for both of them, no matter how much the show tries to sell me that this is a great romance of two hearts meeting. (Possibly one of the truest things DS ever said in an interview is that Cameron and Chase are together for the same reason that JM and JS are, because they are both young, attractive and work together 24/7. Fortunately JS and JM realized it before it was too late and you can see how happy Jesse is in the pictures with Louise. Would have Chase and Cameron have figured it out too.) I would like to ignore the fact that Cameron is now married to Chase and enjoy her as a doctor but I can't since that's all she is any more on the show, Chase's SO. Doris Egan made it pretty clear that she doesn't like Cameron. Yes. My respect for DE's writing took a severe hit in Both Sides Now. If she had left it as Cameron wanting to keep the sperm because Chase could be killed in an accident at any time or something else unexpected happening, and Chase accepting that Cameron needed that security, both characters could have come out looking good. Instead, DE made Cameron a neurotic twit to show how wonderful Chase was now. It was self-indulgent writing and hurt the show overall. One of the show's biggest problems IMO is that the writers are allowed to write whatever they feel like writing and five seasons of canon and characterization don't matter, much less respect for the audience. Another IMO is that relationships which should be temporary and serve to let the characters grow and then move on (i.e. Cameron/Chase and House/Cuddy) are treated as OTPs and the real permanent relationships of their lives. ETA: People are still debating whether Chase was more cruel to Cameron or Cameron was to Chase in the first three seasons. Shouldn't that be a clue that these two shouldn't be together and that putting them together in season 3 was fake and revisionist and done for plot purposes rather than because the characters belong together? If you really care about a person, whether as a potential SO or just a friend, you don't treat them like that.

I loved the interaction between Chase and Cameron in The Tyrant. It was easy to believe they were married and love each other. It's nice to know they don't always call each other "Chase" and "Cameron." I loved seeing Chase stand up for his wife and I loved seeing Cameron show concern that he could have been hurt.

Agreed. I thought their dynamic was great last night. They didn't have to make the episode about their relationship, it just fit in with the story very nicely. They seemed very comfortable with each other, maybe more than I've ever seen them (even though I've shipped them for a while now). Their mutual concern for each other made me smile. And Chase being so protective of Cameron is going on my list of favorite Chase moments.

I watched the Chase/Cam parts of last night's episode again and I had a bigger problem with Cameron than I did on first viewing. It bothers me that she NEVER gives any reason for being with Chase other than the physical. Even when she said what she missed about him, it was the way he held her. Chase missed things about her personality. It makes you think that Chase actually loved her and she just loved having sex with him. Refresh my memory, but has Cameron ever had a kind word to say about Chase's personality? Has she ever indicated loving him for anything more than sexual fulfillment?

vitawash99- 04-13-2010

I'm not sure that it signified her only valuing him physically than the importance of a physical connection between them. Chase spoke very fondly of her holding him too. In light of her first marriage where that part probably couldn't have lasted too long, I think Cameron might be unusually appreciative of that aspect of the relationship. I don't remember her particularly saying anything about his personality. I thought her concern and fear in the tyrant arc showed that she really loved him, though, even if there were other issues at play.

97 Seconds CHASE: Why are you yelling at me? HOUSE: Because performing tests for someone who is not a doctor in this hospital... CHASE: You're frustrated. If you want help, I'm here. If you just need to vent... leave a message. CAMERON: I like him better like this. It's not much, but she did say something positive about his personality.

I've always had a love/hate feeling for Cameron. She bothers me so much for the first 3 seasons I had wished she would just go away already. Then she really did, in season 4. Okay maybe I dislike her way more than I love her. That said, there have been times when I admired her. The time when she was willing to forgive Foreman for being a total jerk and plagiarised her paper, for example. I would've never been able to do that. But then it doesn't make sense because it bugs me that she would step away from her husband and leave him because he murdered some tyrant who was going to commit genocide anyway. It's one thing to say okay, I disagree with you and you have committed murder and I cannot accept what you have done, but it's another matter altogether to say I cannot accept you as a person anymore, I cannot love you anymore because of this. Ugh, it's just asinine. Either the writers have problems writing Cameron as a character overall of they're just bad at characterizing women. I also have problems with the way they write 13 and Cuddy, but their characters are irrelevant for now. I don't know if it's just me but if you really love someone, you should find it in you to forgive them. It's not like Chase hurt her DIRECTLY. I just don't understand the basis for her extreme ethicism in this case. I'm not really a fan of Chase but =_= how do I put this? Just because he's named Chase doesn't mean he has to chase her up and down the entire series. And everytime he showed signs of giving up on her at the last minute, she goes back to him. I don't see how I can continue to like this ship when obviously I was led by the writers to believe all along that he cares a lot more for her than she does for him.
