A Gentle, Polite Reminder It's Tuesday: Chase/Cameron Will they last? My guess is this show's view of love is too warped to let that happen. Discuss all the microwave pizza and Tuesday confessions right here.

Ah, yes. It woulnd't be a House forum if we didn't have a discussion about Chaes and Cameron having sex in an janitor's closet.

I think they'll be together, break up, get together again, break up again, and get together again. I imagine that the show would end with them together, even if it's a crazy ride. I hope that it doesn't play out like that. I really would like to have a functional couple because that would be different than most couples on TV now.
What I like about Chase/Cameron is that they already have seen each other at their worst, but they're still willing to give a relationship a try. They're ahead of most of us diving into new relationships. They know each other's weaknesses. I like the idea of them learning more about each other's strengths and growing together instead of apart.
The LAST thing I want to see is House become a game of musical beds. Since we know Chase/Cameron have slept together and House/Cuddy have slept together, I want the writers to leave it at that. I don't want the intelligent storytelling of the show to get lost behind bed-hopping.

Hey there extra_cat! Since we are the only two Chase/Cameron shippers on this board (or can at least tolerate the pairing), it's my guess this will be our own little chat room! :)
My thoughts...well...um...they're hot together. No, I think they will end up together in the end. It will be like all TV romances, except I see it being downplayed quite a bit for the most part. They might for a dramatic arc or two create a storyline where an issue comes up that drives a wedge in between them, but for the most part, they'll walk off together in the series finale.
I think that aside from the lukewarm sentiment on the boards, most people who watch this show see them together in publicity photos, their engagement made national news. so the average viewer has it in their head, fictional or not, that these two belong together. I'm willing to go out on a limb and say that the pairing does well in focus groups. If it didn't, they wouldn't have ended up together in the finale.

Am I going to get a dimerit for talking about the fandom? LOL
I know a lot of people who watch the show but don't care enough to post about the show. They all seem to like Chase and think Cameron was an idiot for turning him down. I think they could be well received.
I also think they'll end up together. I half expect a Chase/Cameron spinoff if the show is still successful when it ends or if they just want to spin off another show while House is still going a la all the crime drama type shows.

I expect when this show is over Jesse and Jennifer will be offered their own bad sitcom on ABC with stupid jokes and tons of laugh tracks. It will go on for years because people like my mother-in-law will watch because they are pretty and don't know good television if it hit them in the ass.

Ahhhh...*imagines a Chase/Cameron sitcom not unlike Scrubs*
Good times, good times.
TrooperCam- 08-14-2007
Are there any former Buffy/Angel writers on House? Because if there are Chase/Cameron will last for three or four episodes and one of them will get shot.
Hail the Random- 08-14-2007
And the other one will lose an eye?

I think they'll wind up together by the end of the series. I'm really surprised by how much I actually like them together on the show, because I'm not much of a Cameron fan but I actually cheered for her when she jumped Chase in Hunting.
I expected them to be more annoyingly cute than hot so they really surprised me in that department...although for super steamy hot I wouldn't mind seeing Chase and Cuddy have a go round. :P
Taiga- 08-15-2007
I don't see them as steamy, I see them as cute, which is why I wanted them to be together. I'm shallow that way.
Okay, okay, I also wanted to see Chase happy for once and for the Ham ship to die. I also thought it could be good character development for both of them, especially if it was a mature adult relationship and not just juvenile hijinks in janitor closets.
I'm putting this in the past tense because the actors who play them just called off their engagement, so maybe that will affect their characters' relationship on the show.

No, this won't affect anything on the show. They're professionals, and everyone on the show knows how to separate fact from fiction. Although, maybe a little tension between the two would give the relationship more of a spark. Hell, it happened with Fleetwood Mac's music in the seventies when they were all sleeping together and then the relationships ended badly, but some freaking awesome tunes came from it. I know, I'm stretching there a bit.
Anyway, worse comes to worse, the bad ABC sitcom I proposed for those two goes away. That's not so bad. :)

I read in one of the numerous Jesse/Jennifer news blurbs today that Jesse commented that they were surprised to see the Chase/Cameron turn in the scripts because at the time they started getting those scripts, the only person who knew they were engaged was Jennifer's mother. A few months ago, David Shore also said they decided to get Chase/Cameron together probably around the same time Jesse/Jennifer got together in real life, which means that they decided early in the series that they were going to get Chase/Cameron together eventually.
So, what I'm saying is, if TPTB really planned on going with Chase/Cameron, I don't think that the real life couple's relationship will affect it. They're both professionals and will be expected to do their jobs. It may inspire them to go a different direction, but I think if they were planning on it playing out in this season, they will let it do so.

I loathe, detest and hate Cameron. But that doesn't mean that I don't want her not to be happy. Chase deserves her. She deserves Chase. They should get together and let that be the end of it.

I got a bit of a giggle as I was walking back from Staples just now.
There were flyers touting this place:

The CAM Sleep Lab Institute
Obviously, this has a totally different meaning for Chameron fans! (or House fans in general)
