That was very interesting. I like how they staged it like a play and it was chock full of House.

It was like Three Stories but even more about House, which I didn't think was possible. I thought the end was very abrupt but probably a direct lead-in to next week's finale.

I enjoyed this episode. I liked the insight we got into House. It was sad when he was talking about how he viewed Wilson and Cuddy's opinion of him. That he is a problem they have take care of. Well, he is giving up on therapy. He sees everyone else as happy except for him :( I found his whole idea of getting hit and deserving it very interesting.

So who on the writing staff has an Arizona fetish? It's where Chase and Cameron allegedly moved at the end of season 3. (I've never been clear on whether they actually *did* go there and moved back, or whether that was just part of Wilson's mindf**k with House.) It's where Lydia moved. Now it's where Alvie moved. I'll need more time to process this episode. It reminded me a lot of "The Mistake" crossed with "Three Stories." And that is not a bad thing. I want to hug House.

It reminded me of "The Mistake". I wasn't sure if Alvie coming back would be a good idea, but it worked. I think you're right Chippers about it being a direct lead-in to the finale. So who on the writing staff has an Arizona fetish? Maybe the same one who has a fetish about peppermint tea: Resignation, Not Cancer, Knight Fall. eta: Forgot to say that it was an amazing episode and enjoyed House being the focus. And Andre Braugher is so damn good.

I'll admit I was only about half-watching because I was working on something else at the same time, but I thought it was a really strong episode... at least until it was "all about Cuddy" at the end. Could've used some more Chase though. LOL I liked the part where House inserted Taub in the therapists' scenario. He sees everyone else as happy except for him He should hang out with his team more. Chase just got a divorce. Taub is cheating on his wife. 13 is dying. His misery could find plenty of company if he looked for it.

So who on the writing staff has an Arizona fetish? I thought it was hilarious that Alvie thought he'd be free from immigration problems there. Of all the places...

Those two men are wonderful together. It was an interesting episode. The very nature of it, the fact that it was told through a therapy session, made it anvilicious, but I think it worked. Alvie is obviously off his med. He breaks into House's apartment, cooks dinner every night and, when House doesn't come home, sells his possessions to buy paint (so he can make the apartment yellow and magenta.) I liked the POTW. I wish we'd seen more of her but it's funny that we got more insight into a patient with no memory than we did into most of the patients this year. Funny that RSL always seems awkward and uncomfortable in kissing scenes but once he's lying down he's fine. ETA: I found his whole idea of getting hit and deserving it very interesting. I once read an interview with Bruce Springsteen from when The River came out. He was talking about how you see some guys in bars who pick fights but they're not looking for someone to hit, they're looking to be hit. That's what it reminded me of.

Lots of interesting choices here -- from House and Nolan and also in production. The lack of music, the intercuts (constantly interacting in different sets -- turning on a lamp in one office that turns into a lamp in another office) the lack of most music cues to focus solely on the dialogue and what's going down between these characters. Alvie still makes me smile and his action shot grabbing the football was a hoot too. (I'm sure it's the way he sees himself.) House makes you both want to hug him and comfort him and slap him silly for giving up and reverting to his misery. It's what I love about that character.

That was a home run of an episode.Insight into House without reusing sinister hallucinations. I am so worried about House. But I don't see him going into another downward spiral just because I don't think it would fit the story they want to tell. I see next weeks episode leaving us with a serious change in House's life that'll be explored for all of season 7.

WOW, that was awesome. I loved how they told the story. I, too, was a bit leery of Alvie's return, but it was great. It was sad when we saw House's version of how Cuddy and Wilson talk about him, but I'll admit to laughing at Nolan's version. Just how they were acting. What's depressing is House's side is what we've seen through these past few years. I'm bummed next week is the finale, but am excited to see it, especially after this episode.

Alvie still makes me smile and his action shot grabbing the football was a hoot too. (I'm sure it's the way he sees himself.) Interesting you say that - during the Alvie football scene, the song playing was "Make Me Smile" by Steve Harley and Cockney Rebel

He should hang out with his team more. Chase just got a divorce. Taub is cheating on his wife. 13 is dying. His misery could find plenty of company if he looked for it. He really should hang out with them. They all enjoyed themselves. Well, except for Taub  So, it seems according to Nolan, that House is feeling safe in regards to his relationship with Wilson. House does seem to doubt that this relationship with Sam will last. So, he just has to bide his time. HIs relationship with Cuddy isn't on as firm a ground, and he doesn't know how to deal with that. Queston: What was with the bar? Was it that he felt he screwed up his relationship with Cuddy, so he needed to be punished and get beat up? Was that what he screwed up? but I'll admit to laughing at Nolan's version That was hilarious, LOL. I agree that House's version was very sad. It is sad that is how he sees them. Just the expression on his face and htey were "observing" Cuddy and Wilson :(

Queston: What was with the bar? Was it that he felt he screwed up his relationship with Cuddy, so he needed to be punished and get beat up? Was that what he screwed up? I think it was partially these unresolved feelings about Cuddy, but the tipping point was that the one person House felt like was even more screwed up than him -- Alvie -- left for another relationship, the one with his cousin. So even Alvie finds happiness, while House is alone and back where he started.
