Namaste- 05-03-2010

Why isn't anybody concerned that House is either sleepwalking or losing his way home? That's a pretty serious symptom of some altered mental status, there, Doctors ... More like he was really drunk, as he said, and walked into the wrong apartment/loft with an identical layout. Betcha the kid's mom will remember to lock the door after this.

Yeah, I have to agree with Poeia. I believe sexuality is hardwired. The guy wasn't so much making a "choice" as lying to himself. There was an enormous potential for him to hurt his fiancee. I feel very sad that people are raised or made to feel so bad about who they really are that feel that they need to change to the extent that the PotW did. That's the real crime. I think those conversion therapy places are complete and utter bullshit and I wish they would prosecute the people who run them. In "Bruno" Sasha Cohen actually goes to one of those real-life counselors, who tells him straight-out (couldn't resist the pun) how they think. It's terrifying. I knew that if the POTW got married, he'd end up like the closeted gays back when, who went to gay bars secretly. His fiancee did deserve to know. I felt like there was way too much Taub and 13 in this episode, not nearly enough Chase. I enjoyed the karaoke. If I see one more scene of 13 talking to the patients about their relationships, I'm going to...geez, I already threatened to shoot out my television screen some other time. I'll have to think of something else. Taub's marriage is not that interesting to me past the basics. The House/Cuddy scene more than made up for all of the Huddy lameness these past few weeks. Lisa Edelstein can convey more with her back than most actresses with their faces. However, I am deeply happy that House is finally in a downward spiral. Watching him drink that cognac/brandy/whatever made the episode for me. Yes, I'm just that sick.

My friend also wondered why there didn't seem to be that much concern that House was apparently so drunk that he entered the wrong apartment and slept in a kid's bed. Cuddy seemed concerned briefly in the beginning when she stated that he shouldn't be drinking. This could be the reason Wilson is paying the fellows to hang out with House. He is worried that House was getting that drunk alone. I did like that House actually enjoyed himself with his fellows. Wilson got so drunk at Chase's bachelor party that the police found him, without his pants, trying to walk home... from his home. If people thought it was an occasional occurrence of that order, they wouldn't be too concerned. I thought Wilson was paying them to entertain him because Wilson hasn't had any time for him recently. ETA: I'm sure there are a few people who, due to some events in their lives, "chose" a sexual orientation that isn't innate to them. And those are the people who can choose to change. But I also believe that such people would be a minuscule fraction of the population and for most people, deciding to change their sexual orientation is just repression and, eventually, it's not going to work.

I thought Wilson was paying them to entertain him because Wilson hasn't had any time for him recently. Yes, that is probably the reason.

What_Box?- 05-03-2010

Gotta love that even as he starts to decline, House is the snarkmaster. "Give me your head ... bet you haven't heard that sentence with the possessive pronoun before." And Taub, Honey: do not try to outwit or out-manipulate House. He is out of your league.

Attention all lesbians - move to Princeton, NJ immediately. Apparently all lesbians in that town are unbelievably gorgeous. LOL--whoever cast that lesbian bar has never been to a lesbian bar.

fffaw- 05-03-2010

Or they just been to one in my 'hood. ;-) While we do have our share of tres' butch ladies and Oakley wearing golf loving dykes, we've got some serious hotties here in Park Slope and in NYC in general. I know at least 5 lesbians in my immediate neighborhood who wouldn't have looked out of place in that fictional lipstick lesbian hangout. So lady lovin' ladies, either go to Princeton, or c'mon down to Brooklyn! :-)

HOUSE=Robert Downey Jr. Cross promotion for IRON MAN 2??? I feel bad for that little boy, House is kinda rocking the homeless look this season, that can't have been not scary to find some scary lookin old dude in your sheets. At least he kept his pants on. Did House really get that blind drunk to end up in someone else's apartment? That's usually when ppl turn to AA. I'm surprised Wilson's lecture didn't last the whole ep. And gross, I don't wanna see RSL in anymore sex anything scenes. Did anyone else think we were gonna see House in the bed when they slowly panned over from Wilson to his companion? House told Cuddy he got blind drunk and possibly traumatized a little boy as soon as he saw her?!?!? Boy, he really doesn't keep secrets from her. House telling Cuddy the truth about everything this season=foundation for a solid relationship in the future??? OR was House admitting his drunken blunder to her really just a cry for help? You could tell from the beginning this ep was gonna be good. Especially after POTW's gay!not gay! confession. First time in a long time that I felt like I actually learned something interesting about the real world from a House ep when the POTW was talking about his "cleansing" experience. And a lot of the jokes actually made me laugh out loud. Except for House almost drinking that guy's breast milk, that made me gag a little. I thought he was gonna do it since he's been known to sample other gross fluids, like that homeless patient's vomit. Did he actually drink the milk of that female cancer patient in season 4 played by Donna from the West Wing? Would it have made him "gay" if he drank this dude's fluid? WHY OH WHY DOES 13 GET TO CHILL AT A BAR WITH HOUSE? 13 who is just so hot and desirable and even House can't resist telling her this to her face while the mere mortals of Princeton can only admire her from afar while plying her with free drinks? barf. Nooooo writers you're killing me. This is like my dream scenario for House/Cuddy since season 1. Get that sexy snark in a room with dim, seductive lighting pronto! I wanna know what these two are like "just chillin" soooo badly. Jury's still out on the directing. The last House/Cuddy scene was powerful yet kinda cheesy w/ those closeups. It felt a little unHousian, but at least I felt something for these two, which is a relief given the way this pairing has been handled as of late.

The episode was a downer to watch. Not that I minded really, but it looks like House is getting ready to become unglued again and I'm bummed about that. I was rooting for him to keep it together. I'm a little disappointed that Wilson isn't alarmed that House was so drunk that he mistook a 4-year-olds's bed for his own. If he's concerned enough to recruit entertainment for House then why isn't he concerned that his recovering addict best friend is drinking? I'm beginning to think that Wilson is one of those girls who dump her friends when a new guy appears on the scene. The potw resonated with me because I know somebody who is undergoing the "cure". Instead of using medicine, he's undergoing intense counseling to help him make "better" choices. It's an excercise in futility, imo but he really wants to be straight and thinks he can achieve it. I'm not so sure.

What a difference one week can make. This was a very good episode from POTW storyline (Susan Saradon's daughter has her mommy's eyes) to the good interaction amongst all the cast. So we see House drinking a lot to the point of waking up in his neighbor's bed. The spoilers and Ausiello told us he would wake up with someone but unless that person was hidden under one of the spaceships in the bedsheets, there was noone. Hmmm. He is also gambling and I wonder if hookers are involved, too, even though we haven't seen them? Anyone catch the shaking of the martini glass from 13 and how House caught it but didn't say anything. I think it sort of shocked him that the signs of her huntington's disease are showing up. So will we have a parallel between House and 13 on how they deal with their own situations? The karaoke scene was funny. I thought it would be lame but I laughed out loud at one part of it. I loved House playing cupid with Taub. His consistent meddling in Taub's business paid off in the end. I understand Wilson trying to help House by getting people to go out with him but he had to pay them but still you can see he is worried about his friend. Wilson's heart is in the right place. And, House, did seem like he had fun. I just don't know that we can expect to see much of this because House hanging out with people is really not his thing. It's good for him and it healthier but that is not the man that I have come to know over the past 6 years. What can I say, I loved the final scene even though it ended on the note it did. House doesn't do middle of the road. He is either in or out and now it is up to Cuddy to decide what to do. Do you know what I loved about the scene? House and Cuddy actually communicated on an adult level. No tripwires, no stinkbombs. Just open and honest dialogue. That is the House and Cuddy I love. Cuddy was the only one that wanted to go out with House without being paid. And unlike the others getting paid, Cuddy was the one willing to pay to spend time with him. She misses him and I miss them together. And thank you, House, for being open with her instead of giving us a boob grab or some deflection. I thought the director captured that scene beautifully filming both of them in silhouette form removing some of the rawness of that scene. And LE did something that I thought was exceptional. When she was walking out after House turned Cuddy down, you could see her shoulders drop like all the air had been sucked out of her. I think we see where House is heading in the final two episodes. I think the difference this time may be House recognizes he has a support system around him that cares about him and he will allow them to help instead of pushing them away. I have faith in him.

Did anyone else think we were gonna see House in the bed when they slowly panned over from Wilson to his companion? I didn't expect it, but I sure as hell hoped for it, LOL. OR was House admitting his drunken blunder to her really just a cry for help? Hm, I was also wondering about that, because I too felt that it was a little odd for him to simply come out with this story just like that. Did anyone else think that Chase only pretended for House's sake to be oh-so-annoyed at having to spend an evening out with House? I can just picture him secretly chuckling and giggling with joy for having an excuse to spend his spare time with him ;). Remember how happy he was when House invited him to bowling? And notice how, unlike Foreman and House (at least judging by their faces), he's really into the singing, even before they had any drinks? If he's concerned enough to recruit entertainment for House then why isn't he concerned that his recovering addict best friend is drinking? But he is concerned! That's why he's hiring entertainment for House, that's his solution to the drinking problem, no? And am I the only one who's angry with Wilson? Does he really think that it's a good idea to pay people to spend time with House? Like he didn't anticipate House finding out? To me, that seems so humiliating for House and made me so sad for him, he may not show it, but that surely isn't gonna help with his self esteem. That's like, rubbing it in that he's got no one who'd voluntarily spend time with him. If Wilson was really that worried, as he claims to be, shouldn't he sacrifice some time for his friend? Instead he'd rather pay hundreds of dollars so that others deal with House and Wilson gets to sooth his guilt. I know he supposedly did it to help House and his colleagues realise that they actually do enjoy spending time together, but still. He couldn't have been sure it would play out like that, and House won't see it that way anyway, and will only focus on the negative aspects, feeling like people are patronising him etc.. Also, I believe House isn't feeling down only because he's feeling alone, but specifically because his best friend is spending less time with him. Therefore I'm not sure how much "distracting him with other people" will help with that. Despite my annoyance with Wilson, I still highly enjoyed his "I was winning this argument!". He's always so eager to have the upper hand with House and for House to acknowledge every triumph of his ;). And oh yeah, i did enjoy angsty House ;).

Boffle- 05-03-2010

(And boy did he look hot when he said it. And poor Cuddy has to go home from that to... Lucas???) Seriously. I guess that's why they gave her the baby, because without that thought, how could you not go for him there? The man is super hot with her. I thought this was a good episode but can't say I enjoyed a lot of it. Him waking up in the boy's bed was kind of creepy and I too wonder why that wasn't pursued in the story line. The karaoke was fun and I liked them all getting along for once. I like Taub seeming to change (he could still be playing it to convince House to get him off his back). But Wilson paying House's employees to socialize with him? All kinds of wrong. I'm all for Wilson going for a good relationship, but man, for a best friend he sure kicks House to the kerb pretty easily. The insertion of Nurse Jeffrey was ok I guess but it's so clearly to set up situations for the appisodes, those scenes took me right out of the story. I think we can expect one about the napkin rings and one about harrassment with HR. I'm hoping that somehow House will pull out of this seeming spiral this time rather than have another heartbreaking finale. The last two have been sooo sad, tragic and brilliant, I wonder if they'll not go there again, not look for the consequences of his drinking, gambling or drug use (assuming he's not going back to the vike) but maybe will let him have some sort of happier, albeit somehow bittersweet finale. Give us a break, House peeps.

piffle- 05-03-2010

I still don't understand why Taub asked House out? Why would he want to involve House even more in his personal life when he is having a secret affair? And why is House saying that Taub's cheating is a biological imperative? Does House just assume this is the default for all cheaters? And 13 just went along w/ this assumption as well. Weird.

idonmatrix- 05-03-2010

Wow!! Geez!! House winds up in someone else's apartment on the bed of a four year old. Not funny on so many levels. Loved the Wilson/Sam scene. Wilson's morning glory was in full swing and House at the door with the cops hilarious but in the real world his ass would have been in jail. The House/Wilson scenes were good but different from the relationship stuff we had earlier in the season. That Wilson line at the end of the H/W scene in House's office was amazing - truly amazing. Wilson paying House's team to hang out with him and Chase's Wilson already paid us was hilarious. Taub's storyline is boring. There's a reason why only pretty TV characters get all the action.

DOB1234- 05-03-2010

Am I the only one who thought for a moment those really were House's sheets? Good episode. Made me laugh, made me worry about House, made me wonder if he is going to lose it again. Best thing is, the further down the spiral he goes, the hotter he looks. With his hair just a tad longer he is looking smoking. Cuddy, you're a fool.
